  • Patent number: 12353637
Abstract: A processor identifies keypoints on a hand in a two-dimensional image that is captured by a camera. A three-dimensional pose of the hand is determined using locations of the keypoints to access lookup tables (LUTs) that represent potential poses of the hand as a function of the locations of the keypoints. In some embodiments, the keypoints include locations of tips of fingers and a thumb, joints that connect phalanxes of the fingers and the thumb, palm knuckles that represent a point of attachment of the fingers and the thumb to a palm, and a wrist location that indicates a point of attachment of the hand to a forearm. Some embodiments of the LUTs represent 2D coordinates of the fingers and the thumb in corresponding finger pose planes as a function of the locations of the tips of the fingers or thumb relative to the corresponding palm knuckles.

  • Patent number: 12353645
Abstract: A tracking system and associated algorithms are disclosed that can provide a user with a continuous, reset-free augmented reality (AR) experience. When the user wears an AR headset equipped with a camera and an inertial measurement unit (IMU), motion sensor data from the IMU can be combined with image data from the camera to create a device pose, representing a position and an orientation of the headset relative to its environment. In some implementations, when a reset occurs, a six-degrees-of-freedom (6DoF) algorithm can be configured to support the pose until a re-initialization is completed. In some implementations, a neural network can be used to correct for IMU integration drifts in the 6DoF algorithm. In some implementations, the IMU-based 6DoF uses a neural network that exploits the device's past motion to infer its future motion.

  • Patent number: 12356000
Abstract: A method of decoding JVET video includes receiving a bitstream indicating how a coding tree unit was partitioned into coding units, and parsing said bitstream to generate at least one predictor based on an intra prediction mode signaled in the bitstream. The predictor may be generated by interpolating neighboring pixels for each pixel within a coding block. The computation may be more accurate by deriving a value for a bottom right neighboring pixel.

  • Patent number: 12356002
Abstract: A proposed intermediate way of handling the renderable portion of the first view results in more efficient coding. Instead of omitting the coding of the renderable portion completely, even more efficient coding of multi-view signals entails merely suppressing the coding of the residual signal within the renderable portion, whereas the prediction parameter coding still takes place from the non-renderable portion of the multi-view signal across the renderable portion so that prediction parameters for the renderable portion may be exploited for predicting parameters for the non-renderable portion. The additional coding rate for transmitting the prediction parameters for the renderable portion may be kept low as this merely aims at forming a continuation of the parameter history across the renderable portion to serve as a basis for prediction parameters of other portions of the multi-view signal.

  • Patent number: 12356033
Abstract: Computer-implemented systems and methods are provided for defining ad space in a video. For example, a computer can receive an identification of a video and an advertisement space definition that includes a time stamp for the advertisement space in the video and an advertisement length. The computer can receive a request to view the video. The computer can determine an advertisement to play in the advertisement space such that the advertisement is not longer than the advertisement length included in the video's advertisement space definition. The computer can provide access to the video, and when the video reaches the time stamp, the advertisement is played in the advertisement space.

  • Patent number: 12356513
Abstract: A system and method for providing warmth to a person, particularly a skier, in cold or inclement outdoor elements. Skiing is an outdoor winter sport where participants need to have proper clothing and equipment to stay warm in order to participate at optimal strength. Traveling on open-air lifts may cause skiers to become cold. The present disclosure provides a warming wrap that may be placed on a ski pole or other handheld device. A heating device integrated in the warming wrap transmits warmth through an outer layer whereas an insulating layer limits heat from escaping into the pole. The warming wrap contains a heating device that transmits heat from the heating layer to a person who touches the outer layer of the warming wrap. A grip layer alone or together with a fastener arrangement prevents the wrap from sliding down the pole. The preferred placement of the wrap on the pole rather than on a grip or in a glove or mitten provides the skier with better control and balance of the ski pole.

  • Patent number: 12355904
Abstract: A method executed by a computing device includes identifying a contingency-action token (CAT) of an object distributed ledger of a secure exchange that meets minimum CAT requirements. The method further includes determining whether to select the CAT based on an evaluation with regards to an evaluation profile. When selecting the CAT the method further includes producing a selected CAT and determining reassignment information for the selected CAT. The method further includes facilitating taking control of the selected CAT of a blockchain of the object distributed ledger using a securely passing process and updating the selected CAT utilizing the reassignment information for the CAT to produce an updated CAT. The method further includes causing generation of a new block affiliated with the updated CAT via another blockchain of another object distributed ledger using the securely passing process, where the new block includes the updated CAT.

  • Patent number: 12353483
Abstract: Systems and methods for identifying token data can include processing blockchain data to determine candidate token data, which can be processed to determine whether the candidate token data is associated with a blockchain trigger event that is associated with a non-fungible token. The systems and methods can process the output action of a blockchain trigger event to determine whether the output action acts similar to the output action of a non-fungible token. The determination may be based on the candidate token data being associated with one or more standards. The identified token data can be indexed and can then be surfaced in response to a search query. The surfaced index data can be provided for display in a search results page.

  • Patent number: 12352117
Abstract: A power tong assembly has a power tong and a backup for making up and breaking out of threaded tubular connections in tubulars such as drill pipe. The power tong assembly has an overall geometry, including but not limited to a jaw die shape, which reduces contact forces on the tubular, and on the tong body. Preferably, the dies have teeth which are angled to enhance engagement on the tubular. Crush zones or pockets may be provided on the dies, to permit deformation against hard banding on tubulars. In some embodiments, the tong jaws permit mounting the dies in different longitudinal (vertical) positions. In some embodiments, the fixed jaw within the backup has angled sidewalls which accommodate a broader tubular OD range. A cutout in the power tong cage lower plate permits a thicker tong rotary for a given overall tong assembly height.

  • Patent number: 12355786
Abstract: A computing system generates from received user input an initial profile. The initial profile specifies expected behavioral patterns of datasets that are to be received by the computing system. The computing system extracts from received datasets features that are indicative of behavioral patterns of the received datasets. The computing system provides the initial profile to first machine-learning models. The first machine-learning models have been trained using a subset of the received datasets. The first machine-learning models use the initial profile to determine if the behavioral patterns of the received datasets are anomalous. The computing system includes second machine-learning models that have been trained using a subset of the received datasets. The second machine-learning models train a second profile based on the extracted features to specify behavioral patterns of the received datasets that are learned by the second machine-learning model.
