Abstract: Remote control for actuating garage doors and other barriers, and method and system of using same. A base unit includes: a wireless receiver, to wirelessly receive from an electronic device an incoming wireless signal indicating a command to actuate a garage door; a wireless signal constructor, to dynamically construct an outgoing wireless signal which comprises a rolling code; a wireless transmitter, to transmit the outgoing wireless signal to a wireless receiver of a motor unit that is operably associated with the garage door. A wireless signal constructor dynamically constructs the outgoing wireless signal without having access to a secret seed value that is accessible to the motor unit. A local storage unit stores a data-set of rolling codes that are associated with the motor unit; and the outgoing wireless signal is dynamically constructed based on a next-available rolling code obtained from the local storage unit of the base unit.

Abstract: A machine for excavating rock includes a frame, a cutting device, and a boom. The cutting device includes a cutting disc having a cutting edge, and the cutting disc is rotatable about a cutting device axis. The boom supports the cutting device and includes a first end, a second end, and a boom axis substantially parallel to the cutting device axis. The boom further includes a first portion and a second portion. The first portion is coupled to the frame for rotation about a first pivot axis between a raised position and a lowered position. The second portion is coupled to the cutting device, and the second portion is pivotable about a second pivot axis between a raised position and a lowered position.
Abstract: A receptacle includes a cooling channel that is positioned between a top port and a bottom port. A transfer member is positioned in the cooling channel and is configured to direct heat from an inserted plug module into the cooling channel. Air flowing through the cooling channel acts to remove thermal energy from the receptacle. A connector system may include a plug module that can be inserted into such a receptacle and the plug module can include grooves to help allow for direct cooling of the plug module, even when inserted into the receptacle.
Abstract: Methods, systems, and media for indicating viewership of a video are provided. In some embodiments, the method comprises: identifying a video; identifying a first group of users; determining an affinity score for each user with the identified video; receiving a request to present a page that includes a representation of the video; identifying a second group of users connected to the first user associated with the user device; determining a viewership status of each user in the second group of users corresponding to the video; identifying a subset of users in the second group of users based at least in part on the viewership status; and causing groups of indicators to be presented on the user device, wherein each indicator in the groups of indicators represents the viewership status of the user, and wherein the indicators are presented on the requested page in connection with the representation of the video.
Abstract: Systems and methods of the present invention provide for one or more server computers communicatively coupled to a network and configured to: identify, within a data store: a web page including a script tag; a URL in the script tag referencing a location for a second server hosting a script file; and a first hash data in the script tag generated from the script file using a hash function algorithm. The server computer(s) execute a request that accesses the script file and a second hash generated from the script file and stored on the second server computer. If the second hash data does not match the first hash data, execution of the script tag is disabled, and a notification is generated.
Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for increasing bandwidth efficiency in satellite communications. In some embodiments, a satellite communications method is provided that comprises receiving, at a satellite and from a plurality of user ground terminals, a plurality of source signals, wherein each of the source signals are modulated according to at least one source modulation method, and further receiving, at a satellite and from a plurality of user ground terminals, a plurality of information signals corresponding to the plurality of source signals. The method further includes combining, at the satellite, the plurality of source signals into a combined source signal with an overlapping bandwidth, wherein each of the source signals are further modulated according to at least one predetermined modulation method before they are combined, and transmitting, by a downlink transmission from the satellite to a gateway ground station, the combined source signal.

Abstract: A system includes at least one processor configured to host virtual machines in a cloud. Each virtual machine executes a plurality of instances of a first application. Each virtual machine also executes a distributor. The distributor is configured for accessing a profile of the application and a distribution of the first application, wherein the distribution identifies a respective first number of instances of the first application to execute in each respective virtual machine. After launch of the first application, the distributor is configured for computing an updated distribution that includes a respective second number of instances of the first application to execute in each respective virtual machine. The distributor is also configured for determining whether the second number of instances is different from the first number of instances. The distributor is configured for storing the updated distribution in a database in response to receiving a lock for accessing the distribution.
Abstract: Embodiments disclosed herein generally relate to a system and method for transacting at an ATM. A computing system receives a request from the ATM to provide audio commands for an input having one or more components. The computing system generates an audio message for a component of the one or more components. The computing system receives an indication from the user to select an entry from the set of candidate entries as the component. The indication from the user does not include a recitation of the first entry. The computing system maps the indication to a respective candidate in the set of candidate entries. The computing system generates a verification audio message for the user to audibly verify a correct mapping between the indication and the respective candidate in the set of candidate entries. The computing system receives an audible verification from the user.

Abstract: A system and method of identifying objects is provided. In one aspect, the system and method includes a hand-held device with a display, camera and processor. As the camera captures images and displays them on the display, the processor compares the information retrieved in connection with one image with information retrieved in connection with subsequent images. The processor uses the result of such comparison to determine the object that is likely to be of greatest interest to the user. The display simultaneously displays the images the images as they are captured, the location of the object in an image, and information retrieved for the object.

Abstract: A determination is produced as to the number of leads that can be provided from a system to a target business entity, wherein the leads are generated from a plurality of platforms. The platforms may include platforms that comprise system sources for leads, i.e., sources that are internal or organic to the system, for which it is unnecessary to pay third parties for the leads. The platforms may also include platforms that comprise external sources for leads, such that the leads must be purchased from the external sources. In response to parameters related to the target business entity, an estimated number of leads per unit time is generated for a range of payments to the system by the target business entity. The number of leads to be originated from each of the respective platforms is determined by business rules preferences, which may be specified by the target business entity.
Abstract: A cooling bed system is configured to provide a cooling airflow around a patient suffering from heat exhaustion, heat stroke and or burns. A cooling bed system produces an airflow over a patient and preferably an airflow from both above and below the patient to more effectively and quickly cool the patient. A cooling bed system may also include a liquid dispenser that creates mist that is carried by the airflow to further cool the patient. A patient may be supported by a platform having a plurality of openings to allow airflow and mist to pass therethrough. A controller controls the airflow rate and/or temperature of the air, and may also control the liquid dispensing rate and/or temperature of the liquid as a function of an input from a temperature sensor to effectively and safely cool the patient.
