  • Patent number: 10551919
Abstract: Various embodiments relate to apparatuses and methods of using light transmission thought compressed living tissue to detect force. Transmission of light through living tissue such as a finger is affected by how much the tissue is compressed, for example by the finger being pressing on a surface. Light is introduced into the tissue, passes through the tissue, and a sensor receives the light exiting the tissue. The compression of the tissue can be determined using various characteristics of the received light, such as the light intensity, as determined based at least partly on sensor readings.

  • Patent number: 10550982
Abstract: A quick connect coupling includes a hollow female connector body, a male end form configured to be received in the female connector body, a retainer, and a verifier coupled. An entry end of the female connector body defines a pair of windows on opposite sides of the entry end. The retainer extends along the windows and into a bore of the female connector body. The verifier includes legs and feet that extend into the windows and into the bore. The windows define a ramped edge, and the retainer is forced against the ramped edge by an annular upset of the male end form. The retainer spreads outward and springs back after the upset clears the retainer. The feet of the verifier include a ramped surface and spread outward in response to a force applied by the upset. The verifier can be pushed down after the legs are spread apart.

  • Patent number: 10554350
Abstract: A communication management resource associated with a wireless access point in a network environment allocates use of a wireless channel and sub-channels over time to multiple communication devices in communication with the wireless access point. For example, during use, from a first communication device of the multiple communication devices competing for wireless bandwidth, the communication management resource receives a request for allocation of wireless bandwidth to communicate over a wireless communication link with the wireless access point. Subsequent to receiving the request, the communication management resource identifies an appropriate amount of wireless bandwidth suitable to satisfy the request for bandwidth from the first communication device.

  • Patent number: 10549055
Abstract: A laryngeal mask apparatus to ventilate a patient and also suck in fluids and secretions in the patient's hypopharyngeal region. The laryngeal mask apparatus has a mask, a flexible breathing tube in communication with the mask and a suction tube which has a plurality of suctioning ports that face the back of the patient's throat when the mask is inserted into the patient's throat. When suction is created within the suction tube, fluids and secretions in the patient's hypopharyngeal region are sucked into the plurality of suction ports. The laryngeal mask apparatus also has a flexible air capillary tube positioned within the interior of the suction tube to provide an air flow that decreases the direct suction forces on the mucosa of the patient's throat that are caused by the suction of the plurality of suction ports.

  • Patent number: 10552736
Abstract: A method for generating a dual-class dataset is disclosed. A single-class dataset and a context dataset are obtained. The context dataset can be labeled. A model can be trained using the combination of the single-class dataset and the labeled context dataset. The model can be run on the context dataset. The data points that are classified the same as the data points included in the single-class dataset, can be removed from the labeled context dataset and added to the single-class dataset. These steps can be repeated until no data points are classified by the model.

  • Patent number: 10554739
Abstract: Individualized connectivity based request handling is disclosed. For example, a content source is accessed by a client device and a load balancer executes on a processor to receive a first request based on the client device accessing the content source. A first session variable is set to a first value in a first session and a first latency to the client device is measured. A first plurality of target nodes is selected based on the first session variable. A first plurality of messages is sent to the first plurality of target nodes. A second request is received from the client device after the first session expires, starting a second session. The first session variable is set to a different second value in the second session. A second plurality of messages is sent to a second plurality of target nodes different from the first plurality of target nodes.
