Abstract: An improved, cost effective and shortened process of purification of the capsular polysaccharide of S. pneumoniae, Group B Streptococcus, H. influenzae, S. typhoid and N. meningitidis is disclosed. The process includes a cocktail of enzyme treatment, tangential flow filtration, and multimodal chromatography purification. For Gram-negative bacteria, endotoxin removal process involves endotrap HD resin. This shortened process achieved the purity required by WHO/EP/BP for the use in human vaccine preparation, with simple steps and higher yield as compared to conventional processes. The steps of the process avoid use of organic solvents such as, for example, alcohol, phenol, and ultracentrifugation that are otherwise expensive and time consuming to perform, and/or health hazards for commercial use. This process disclosed is also simple, efficient, non-toxic, easy to scale-up, and environmentally friendly.

Abstract: Systems and methods are described, and one method includes storing a PCB dimension, a vapor chamber (VC) case configuration, a package height of a heat-generating (HG) device, a component data identifying a height of a component, and a layout configuration data indicating locations for the HG device and the component. Upon determining the component location is an interfering location, the VC case configuration data is updated to indicate an inner clearance perimeter for the VC case, surrounding the interfering location. Electroforming forms the VC, for thermal coupling to the HG device, having a VC case with rimless, seamless outer peripheral surfaces aligned and facing according to the VC case outer perimeter, and other rimless surfaces aligned and facing, relative to the clearance perimeter, to form a clearance.

Abstract: A technique for fabricating a hollow core optical fiber with a controllable core region (in terms of diameter) is based upon regulating conditions (gas flow, volume, and/or temperature) within the hollow core region during the fiber draw process. The introduction of a gas, or any change in volume or temperature of the hollow core region, allows for the diameter of the hollow core region to self-regulate as a multistructured core rod (MCR) is drawn down into the final hollow core optical fiber structure. This self-regulation provides a core region having a diameter that selected and then stabilized for the duration of the draw process. The inventive process is also useful in controlling the diameter of any selected hollow region of an MCR including, but not limited to, shunts and corner capillaries disposed around the core region.

Abstract: A set of optical elements for optical extraction composed of packed expanding optical cross sections to efficiently extract from a large gain region. The elements are rectangular shaped concave small expansion lenses matched to rectangular convex collimating lenses. Absorbing sheets divide an overall large volume up into smaller volumes to minimize losses due to amplified spontaneous emission. This arrangement has various applications, particularly in inertial confinement technology, where it may be used to extract energy from KrF laser media energized by electron beams. For certain applications, this regime of the gain medium may have zones at the absorbing sheets where this is no gain.

Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure provide methods and apparatuses for video encoding/decoding. In some examples, an apparatus for video decoding includes receiving circuitry and processing circuitry. According to an aspect of the disclosure, the processing circuitry decodes prediction information of a current block in a current coding tree unit (CTU) within a picture from a coded video bitstream. The prediction information is indicative of an intra block copy mode. The processing circuitry further determines a reference area in the picture for the current block based on signals in the coded video bitstream that indicate constraints of the reference area, and then the processing circuitry reconstructs at least a sample of the current block based on reference samples of the reference area in the picture.
