Abstract: Solid proppants are coated with a coating that exhibits the handling characteristics of a pre-cured coating while also exhibiting the ability to form particle-to-particle bonds at the elevated temperatures and pressures within a wellbore. The coating includes a substantially homogeneous mixture of (i) at least one isocyanate component having at least 2 isocyanate groups, and (ii) a curing agent comprising a monofunctional alcohol, amine or amide. The coating process can be performed with short cycle times, e.g., less than about 4 minutes, and still produce a dry, free-flowing, coated proppant that exhibits low dust characteristics during pneumatic handling but also proppant consolidation downhole for reduced washout and good conductivity. Such proppants also form good unconfined compressive strength without use of an bond activator, are substantially unaffected in bond formation characteristics under downhole conditions despite prior heat exposure, and are resistant to leaching with hot water.

Abstract: An annotation system for providing annotations for original images is provided. In some embodiments, the annotation system accesses an annotation associated with an object of a 3D model. The annotation system also accesses and displays an original image. The annotation system renders a model image of the 3D model based on the view from which the original image was collected. When the model image contains the annotated object, the annotation system provides an indication that an annotation is associated with the object of the original image. The annotation system can provide indications of the annotation for other original images that include the annotated object irrespective of the view from which the other original images are collected.

Abstract: A fluid delivery system includes a pressurizing mechanism. The pressurizing mechanism includes: a substantially cylindrical body having a movable member positioned therein that divides the body into a first chamber and a second chamber; a plunger rod connected to a first side of the movable member and extending through a substantially closed first end of the body; and an elongated member connected to a second side of the movable member and extending through a substantially closed second end of the body. The plunger rod configured to operatively engage a fluid container. Fluid is dispensed from the fluid container by forming a vacuum within at least the first chamber by moving the movable member toward the second end of the body, allowing atmospheric pressure to enter the second chamber, and actuating the pressurizing mechanism to cause the moving member to move towards the first end of the body.
Abstract: Various arrangements for hazard detector event tracking is presented. A system may include a hazard detector and a computer server system. Indications of events that occurred at the hazard detector may be provided to and stored by a computer server system. A user interface application executed on a mobile device may receive the indications of events that occurred at the hazard detector. A timeline may be generated that graphically represents the indications of events. The generated timeline may be output for presentation via a display of the mobile device.

Abstract: A system and method are provided for hybrid electric internal combustion engine applications in which a motor-generator, a narrow switchable coupling and a torque transfer unit therebetween are arranged and positioned in the constrained environment at the front of an engine in applications such as commercial vehicles, off-road vehicles and stationary engine installations. The motor-generator is preferably positioned laterally offset from the switchable coupling, which is co-axially-arranged with the front end of the engine crankshaft. The switchable coupling is an integrated unit in which a crankshaft vibration damper, an engine accessory drive pulley and a disengageable clutch overlap such that the axial depth of the clutch-pulley-damper unit is nearly the same as a conventional belt drive pulley and engine damper. The front end motor-generator system includes an electrical energy store that receives electrical energy generated by the motor-generator when the coupling is engaged.

Abstract: A virtual reality scene is displayed via a display device. A real-world positioning of a peripheral control device is identified relative to the display device. Video of a real-world scene of a physical environment located behind a display region of the display device is captured via a camera. A real-world portal is selectively displayed via the display device that includes a portion of the real-world scene and simulates a view through the virtual reality scene at a position within the display region that tracks the real-world positioning of the peripheral control device.

Abstract: Techniques to protect data are disclosed. A backup appliance configuration data associated with a first backup appliance associated with a first virtual machine environment is received at a host site. The backup appliance configuration data is replicated to a remote replication site. The backup appliance configuration data includes data usable at the remote replication site to provide at the remote replication site a replicated backup appliance that is associated with a second virtual machine environment at the remote replication site and is configured to access backup data stored by the first backup appliance and to use said backup data stored by the first backup appliance to recover to hosts at the replication site one or more virtual machines associated with the first virtual machine environment.
Abstract: A method of controlling deceleration of a vehicle which includes the steps of sensing the speed of rotation of the output shaft and generating an output shaft speed signal. The method also includes deriving from the output shaft speed signal a deceleration signal indicative of deceleration of the vehicle, and generating in accordance with a selectively effective feedback control scheme a braking command. The method further includes using the output shaft speed signal to calculate a maximum braking power signal and modulating the braking command in dependence on the maximum braking power signal in order to limit the braking power applied in the SAHR brake. The maximum braking power signal is determined in dependence on the heat dissipating capacity of the SAHR brake and is such as to give rise to a constant or approximately constant value of braking power dissipated in the SAHR brake.
