  • Patent number: 10542278
Abstract: In accordance with a first aspect, the intra prediction direction of a neighboring, intra-predicted block is used in order to predict the extension direction of the wedgelet separation line of a current block, thereby reducing the side information rate necessitated in order to convey the partitioning information. In accordance with a second aspect, the idea is that previously reconstructed samples, i.e. reconstructed values of blocks preceding the current block in accordance with the coding/decoding order allow for at least a prediction of a correct placement of a starting point of the wedgelet separation line, namely by placing the starting point of the wedgelet separation line at a position of a maximum change between consecutive ones of a sequence of reconstructed values of samples of a line of samples extending adjacent to the current block along a circumference thereof. Both aspects may be used individually or in combination.

  • Patent number: 10538999
Abstract: An electric submersible pump assembly with integral heat exchanger, high-speed self-aligning bearings, and dual bearing thrust chamber is described. The described pump assembly, modules, and components may be used for operating an electric submersible pump at high speeds as well as over a wide range of speeds and flowrates without replacing downhole equipment. The described pump assembly may be shorter than comparable pump assemblies and may be assembled offsite, thereby leading to faster and easier installation with less down time. By operating over a wide range of speeds, the disclosed pump assembly allows the operator to reduce overall inventory, reduce down time for the well, and avoid other complications associated with replacing a pump assembly or other downhole components.

  • Patent number: 10542264
Abstract: A method and apparatus for decoding JVET video, including receiving a bitstream and generating predictor pixels for angular prediction using pixels at projected positions along both a top reference row (main reference line) and a left reference column (side reference line). By combining projected pixel values on the main reference line with projected pixel values on the side reference, a predictor pixel at coordinate (x,y) can be determined. Further weighting the values according to a distance between predictor pixels and projected pixel positions on the main and side references may be included in the combination of pixel values. The weight parameter may be determined from a weighting table. Further, the weights for horizontal and vertical predictors may be computed based on that of a horizontal and vertical predictor, whichever is more accurate.

  • Patent number: 10542314
Abstract: Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, a device in which a processing system facilitates performance of operations including obtaining content for presentation to audience members, generating versions of the content, storing the versions in a library, and configuring a presentation of the content at a presentation device. The system detects characteristics of the audience members; if an appropriate version for an audience member is not available in the library, the system generates a customized version. A set of versions is presented simultaneously to the audience members, each of whom accordingly experiences a presentation version. The system receives data regarding real-time reactions of each audience member to the presentation version. An alternate presentation version, which can include a real-time adjustment of the content, is provided based on the reaction data of an audience member and presented to the audience member. Other embodiments are disclosed.
