Abstract: Novel tools and techniques are provided for implementing monitoring and detection of fraudulent or unauthorized use in telephone conferencing systems or voice networks. In various embodiments, a computing system might monitor call activity through telephone conferencing system or voice network. In response to detecting use of the telephone conferencing system or voice network by at least one party based on the monitored call activity, the computing system might identify incoming and/or outgoing associated with a call initiated by the at least one party. The computing system might analyze the identified incoming and/or outgoing call data to determine whether the call initiated by the at least one party constitutes at least one of fraudulent use or unauthorized use of the telephone conferencing system or voice network. If so, the computing system might initiate one or more first actions.

Abstract: Disclosed are methods, devices and materials for the in situ formation of an implant for treating a nerve. A treatment site on a nerve is positioned within a cavity defined by a form. A transformable media is introduced into the form cavity to surround the treatment site. The media is permitted to undergo a transformation from a first, relatively flowable state to a second, relatively non flowable state to form a protective barrier surrounding the treatment site. The implant may be a growth inhibiting nerve cap to inhibit neuroma formation following planned or traumatic nerve injury, a growth permissive conduit for facilitating reconnection of a severed nerve, or an anchor for stabilizing a pain management electrode with respect to a nerve. Access to the nerve treatment site may be open surgical or percutaneous.

Abstract: A composite article and a method for insulating an appliance are disclosed. In general, the appliance is selected from the group of major, domestic or household appliances (e.g. ovens, stoves, ranges, etc.). The appliance has a first surface that defines a heating cavity, and a second surface opposite the first surface. The composite article comprises a backing layer spaced from the first surface, and an insulating layer sandwiched between the second surface and the backing layer. The insulating layer reduces heat transfer from the heating cavity to the backing layer (e.g. during use of the appliance). The insulating layer comprises a foamed silicone. The foamed silicone can be one formed via a hydrosilylation-curable silicone composition, a condensation-curable silicone composition, or a combination thereof. The insulating layer may comprise a foamed room-temperature-vulcanizing (RTV) silicone.

Abstract: Techniques for determining a user's IPD are described. A first stimulus is displayed on a first display, and a second stimulus is displayed on a second display. A stimulus separation distance is a distance that exists between the first and second stimuli. The stimulus separation distance is progressively increased by progressively moving, in opposing directions relative to one another, the first and second stimuli. While that distance is being progressively increased, at least one of the user's eyes is tracked. While the distance is being progressively increased, a change in a rate of eye movement for the user's eye is detected. When the change is detected, a value for the stimulus separation distance is recorded. The recorded value is set as a baseline for the user's IPD.

Abstract: A method of repairing an ultra-large single-piece cast component of a vehicle body. The method includes the steps of locating a damaged portion of the cast component, determining an extent of the damaged portion of the ultra-large cast component, defining a cut-line sectioning off the damaged portion from an undamaged portion of the ultra-large cast component, cutting along the cut-line to excise the damaged portion from the undamaged portion of the ultra-large cast component, and joining a replacement piece to the undamaged portion of the ultra-large cast component. The replacement piece is fabricated based on the original manufacturer's geometry and dimensional data of the excised damaged portion. The undamaged portion of the ultra-large cast component remains on the vehicle body during the repair.

Abstract: A utility vehicle having a chassis frame extending along a centerline axis where the chassis frame includes a first side frame member and a second side frame member opposing one another about the centerline axis. A first drive mechanism is supported by the first frame member, and a second drive mechanism is supported by the second frame member. A first gearset assembly is coupled to the first drive mechanism, and a second gearset assembly is coupled to the second drive mechanism. A first axial flux electric motor is coupled to the first gearset and positioned between the first frame member and the first gearset, and a second axial flux electric motor is coupled to the second gearset and positioned between the second frame member and the second gearset. The first gearset and the second gearset are spaced apart from one another on opposite sides of the centerline axis thereby permitting each gearset assembly to be readily installed and maintained without interfering with the opposing gearset assembly.
Abstract: Controlling an avatar in an XR environment can be based on input(s) from external, non-XR computing devices, such as mobile devices. An external device can capture sensor data, audio data, and/or image data, which are processed by an avatar control system to determine a gesture performed by the user, gauge the level of intensity or excitement of the user, and/or infer the user's sentiment or emotional state. The avatar control system can generate a motion plan based on these inferences drawn from the external device sensor data based on a baseline animation or motion template. The system can generate avatar animations that have exaggerated or understated expressions relative to the user's real-world gestures, possibly exceeding limitations of a kinematic model that otherwise constrain the avatar's animations. The technology can enable users to control an avatar in an XR environment without specialized XR equipment.
