Publication number: 20240314314Abstract: Innovations in use of chroma quantization parameter (“QP”) offsets when determining a control parameter for deblock filtering. For example, as part of encoding, an encoder sets a picture-level chroma QP offset and slice-level chroma QP offset for encoding of a slice of a picture. The encoder also performs deblock filtering of at least part of the slice, where derivation of a control parameter considers only the picture-level chroma QP offset. The encoder outputs at least part of a bitstream including the encoded content. As part of decoding, a corresponding decoder sets a picture-level chroma QP offset and a slice-level chroma QP offset for decoding of a slice of a picture, but derivation of a control parameter for deblock filtering considers only the picture-level chroma QP offset.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 15, 2024Publication date: September 19, 2024Applicant: Microsoft Technology Licensing, LLCInventor: Gary J. Publication number: 20240314137Abstract: An anomaly on a computer network is identified by processing data generated by the computer network. The anomaly is identified based on a first anomaly threshold of a plurality of anomaly thresholds associated with the anomaly. In response to determining that the anomaly has met the first anomaly threshold of the plurality of anomaly thresholds associated with the anomaly, a first authentication level associated with the first anomaly threshold is identified. The plurality of anomaly thresholds associated with the anomaly have a plurality of associated authentication levels. A user interface is displayed to an administrator that includes a prompt to authenticate the administrator at the first authentication level. Authenticating the administrator at the first authentication level allows the administrator to take an action associated with the anomaly. For example, the administrator may unload an application that may likely have been compromised.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 14, 2023Publication date: September 19, 2024Applicant: MICRO FOCUS LLCInventors: Douglas Max Grover, Michael F. Publication number: 20240311641Abstract: Systems, methods, and computer-readable media for dynamic changes to both a learned control policy in the event of a change in the environment (e.g., introduction of a new or unseen obstacle). Rather than having to implement an entirely new policy (and a new global Q table), which can delay performance of tasks by agent(s), the present embodiments allow for a reduced delay in updating local Q table(s) based on detection of a new change in the environment. Locally changing the policy allows for more efficient updating of the policy based on changes in the environment, rather than globally changing the Q table after each change. Particularly in an event with multiple changes in the environment, the present embodiments increase efficiency in updating local and global Q tables while also reducing a delay in providing new instructions to the agent(s) in completing tasks.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 12, 2024Publication date: September 19, 2024Applicant: Technology Innovation Institute - Sole Proprietorship LLCInventors: Reda ALAMI, Hakim HACID
