Publication number: 20240312477Abstract: Examples of the present disclosure describe systems and methods for multichannel audio speech classification. In examples, an audio signal comprising multiple audio channels is received at a processing device. Each of the audio channels in the audio signal is transcoded to a predefined audio format. For each of the transcoded audio channels, an average power value is calculated for one or more data windows in the audio signal. A correlation value is calculated between the average power value for each audio channel and the combined average power value of the other audio channels in the audio signal. Each of the correlation values (or an aggregated correlation value for the audio channels) is then compared against a threshold value to determine whether the audio signal is to be classified as a speech-based communication. Based on the classification, an action associated with the audio signal may be performed.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 27, 2023Publication date: September 19, 2024Applicant: Microsoft Technology Licensing, LLCInventors: Oron NIR, Inbal SAGIV, Maayan YEDIDIA, Fardau VAN NEERDEN, Itai NORMAN

Publication number: 20240314484Abstract: Techniques and apparatuses are described that implement a hearable with on-head detection using a single optical sensor. The hearable determines on-head detection based on a distance measured by the single optical sensor being less than a distance limit associated with on-head detection. A shape of the hearable's housing causes the hearable to have at least one orientation while at static equilibrium on a flat surface. This orientation causes the flat surface to be within the field-of-view of the optical sensor and causes a distance between the flat surface and the optical sensor to be greater than the distance limit associated with on-head detection. In this way, false positives associated with on-head detection can be mitigated without adding additional sensors (e.g., another infrared sensor, another proximity sensor, or a motion sensor) and without utilizing more complex optical sensors that determine additional information about the object, such as material composition.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 15, 2023Publication date: September 19, 2024Applicant: Google LLCInventors: Melissa Mira Zucker, Yi Zhang, Yao Xue, Mi Zhou

Publication number: 20240314329Abstract: A decoder determines, from a bitstream and for a first block of samples in a video, an indication of an intra prediction mode, and a residual. Based on the indicated intra prediction mode being a Direct Current (DC) mode or a planar mode and using reference samples of the first block, a prediction of a second block of samples corresponding to the first block being downscaled is generated. The decoder decodes the first block by upscaling the second block determined based on the prediction of the second block and the residual.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 15, 2024Publication date: September 19, 2024Applicant: Ofinno, LLCInventors: Kalyan Goswami, Esmael Hejazi Dinan, Tae Meon Bae

Publication number: 20240313719Abstract: A high-voltage chopper-stabilized amplifier can include two paths to compensate for non-ideal electrical parameters. A first path, leading to a primary input of the amplifier, may include a first mux interface circuit to limit voltages at the primary input of the amplifier. A second path, leading to an auxiliary input of the amplifier, may include a chopper amplifier circuit. Despite the first mux interface circuit, a slew condition on the first path may excite a current in the second path that can negatively affect the signal source. Accordingly, the disclosed amplifier further includes a second mux interface circuit that can decouple the second path while a slew condition. The second mux interface circuit is driven by a window floating comparator, which is supplied according to the voltages on primary input. A settling enhancer circuit keeps, during slew condition, certain nodes on the second path at a reference voltage.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 17, 2023Publication date: September 19, 2024Applicant: SEMICONDUCTOR COMPONENTS INDUSTRIES, LLCInventors: Cornel D.
