  • Patent number: 12130352
Abstract: Systems and methods are described to identify motion events on a sloped surface, such as a mountainside, using transmitted and received radio frequency (RF) chirps. A one-dimensional array of receive antennas can be digitally beamformed to determine azimuth information of received reflected chirps. Elevation information can be determined based on time-of-flight measurements of received reflected chirps and known distances to locations on the sloped surface. Motion events may be characterized by deviations in return power levels and/or return phase shifts. The systems and methods may, for example, be used to provide real-time detection of avalanches and/or landslides.

  • Patent number: 12132859
Abstract: Novel tools and techniques are provided for implementing enhanced 911 call functionalities. In various embodiments, in response to receiving a 911 call request from a caller using a calling device associated with an originating telephone number (“TN”), a computing system may determine whether a user profile associated with the caller and/or the originating TN contains registered third parties on a 911 call notification list. Based on a determination that the user profile contains at least one registered third party on the 911 call notification list associated with the caller and/or the originating TN, the computing system may send a message to each of the at least one registered third party indicating that the caller has called 911, and/or may establish a listen-in only bridged connection, a full bridge connection, or a shared communication to the 911 call for each registered third party.

  • Patent number: 12129987
Abstract: A landscape lighting fixture utilizes a cylindrical bollard shroud member which houses an electrical light source, e.g. an LED module. The shroud number extends upwardly from an elongated riser element. A vertically adjustable path hat support system affixed to a path hat circumscribes the shroud member, thereby allowing the path hat to be vertically adjustable in relation to the shroud member. The path hat and path hat support system can also be vertically adjustable along the riser element, without an attached shroud member. In either case, the adjustability of the path hat allows the lighting fixture to provide a wider or narrower light beam angle from the light source without adjusting the illumination from the light source.

  • Patent number: 12133183
Abstract: A wireless device may determine whether a sidelink transmission has higher priority than an uplink transmission. The determination may be based on comparing a priority value of the sidelink transmission to a first priority threshold for ultra reliable low latency (URLLC) uplink transmissions in response to the uplink transmission being URLLC, and the determination may be based on comparing the priority value of the sidelink transmission to a second priority threshold for non-URLLC uplink transmissions in response to the uplink transmission being non-URLLC. Based on the determining, the wireless device may transmit at least one of the sidelink transmission or the uplink transmission.

  • Patent number: 12132854
Abstract: An electronic device includes one or more sensors detecting an energy storage level of an energy storage device falling below a predefined threshold. A location detector and a motion detector determine whether the electronic device is positioned at a location trusted by an authorized user or whether the electronic device is being transported by a mode of transport trusted by the authorized user. The one or more processors identify foreground applications operating on the electronic device and non-essential services associated with the foreground applications. The one or more processors restrict the non-essential services from occurring when the energy storage level of the energy storage device is below the predefined threshold unless the electronic device is positioned at the trusted location or is being transported by the trusted mode of transport.
