Abstract: Methods and servers for of training a decision-tree based Machine Learning Algorithm (MLA) are disclosed. During a given training iteration, the method includes generating prediction values using current generated trees, generating estimated gradient values by applying a loss function, generating a first plurality of noisy estimated gradient values based on the estimated gradient values, generating a plurality of noisy candidate trees using the first plurality of noisy estimated gradient values, applying a selection metric to select a target tree amongst the plurality of noisy candidate trees, generating a second plurality of noisy estimated gradient values based on the plurality of estimated gradient values, generating an iteration-specific tree based on the target tree and the second plurality of noisy estimated gradient values, and storing, the iteration-specific tree to be used in combination with the current generated trees.

Abstract: Provided in the present invention are a magnetic resonance imaging system and method, and a computer-readable storage medium. The method comprises: performing a medical scan of a subject and acquiring a first medical image having a first noise interference artifact, and performing an additional scan of the subject to acquire a second medical image, wherein the second medical image has a second noise interference artifact, and the location mapping of the second noise interference artifact in the first medical image is symmetrical to the location of the first noise interference artifact relative to a pixel center of the first medical image; and performing synthesis-related processing on the first medical image and the second medical image to acquire a post-processed image with reduced noise interference artifacts.

Abstract: Executing a query in a disaggregated cluster. A query is received at the disaggregated cluster. A query graph is created based on the query that identifies a hierarchy of vertices, where each vertex is associated with a set of data responsive to at least a portion of the query. The compute nodes process the query graph by first identifying a minimum set of tables, files, and objects stored on the storage nodes required to retrieve data that satisfy the query. Next, the compute nodes selectively assign the identified tables, files, and objects to a leaf vertex of the query graph to optimize retrieving data from the storage nodes. Thereafter, the compute nodes process the retrieved data sets associated with each vertex using separate threads of execution for each vertex of the query graph such that leaf vertices are performed in parallel. The compute nodes then provide a result set.

Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure provide a hybrid smartwatch that incorporates digital technology with an analog timepiece in a wristwatch form factor. A digital display layer of a non-emissive material is configured to present notices, data, content and other information. An analog display layer includes one or more hands of the timepiece, and overlies the digital display layer. The hands may be controlled by a processor through micro-stepper motors or other actuators. Physical motion of the hands is simultaneously coupled with arrangement of content or other elements on the display layer, which results in numerous types of hybrid visualizations. This includes temporal presentations using hourly, daily, monthly or other time scales. Shape-shifting of the watch hands between 2D and 1D arrangements can linearly focus on certain information. And various content-aware layouts can highlight, bracket, occlude or otherwise emphasize or deemphasize displayed information.

Abstract: A method of forming alignment marks includes providing a III-V compound substrate having a device region and an alignment mark region, forming a hardmask layer having a first set of openings on the alignment mark region exposing a first surface portion of the III-V compound substrate and a second set of openings on the device region exposing a second surface portion of the III-V compound substrate, etching the exposed surface of the III-V compound substrate using the hardmask layer as a mask to form a plurality of trenches, and epitaxially regrowing a semiconductor layer in the trenches to form the alignment marks extending to a predetermined height over the processing surface of the III-V compound substrate.

Abstract: Techniques are described herein for enabling the use of “dynamic” or “context-specific” hot words for an automated assistant. In various implementations, an automated assistant may be operated at least in part on a computing device. Audio data captured by a microphone may be monitored for default hot word(s). Detection of one or more of the default hot words may trigger transition of the automated assistant from a limited hot word listening state into a speech recognition state. Transition of the computing device into a given state may be detected, and in response, the audio data captured by the microphone may be monitored for context-specific hot word(s), in addition to or instead of the default hot word(s). Detection of the context-specific hot word(s) may trigger the automated assistant to perform a responsive action associated with the given state, without requiring detection of default hot word(s).

Abstract: An intravascular emboli capture and retrieval system for intravascular embolism protection and embolism removal or maceration. Guidewire mounted proximally and distally located multiple opening filters are deployed within the vasculature and used to part, divide and macerate embolic debris and to capture such embolic debris within the confines thereof. A deployable flexible preformed memory shaped capture sleeve is alternatively used to collapse one or more filters and embolic debris therein for subsequent proximal withdrawal from the vasculature.

The distal annulus section has a concave inflection. A leaflet assembly is stitched to the anchoring section. The system also includes a balloon on which the heart valve assembly is crimped, the balloon having a central valve contact portion that has an outflow portion, a neck portion, and a central portion between the outflow portion, and the neck portion. The outflow portion of the balloon receives the outflow section of the stent-frame, the central portion of the contact portion of the balloon receives the support section of the stent-frame, and the neck portion receives the annulus section of the stent-frame.

Abstract: Various embodiments are generally directed to techniques for crowdsourcing metadata, such as to create, maintain, utilize, and/or communicate metadata in a datastore. Some embodiments are particularly directed to collecting, managing, and/or distributing metadata via a user interface application (UIA), or an extension thereof. Many embodiments may facilitate collaborative creation of a repository for metadata, such as notes, characteristics, and/or statistics corresponding to data viewed with the user interface application. For example, the comments regarding websites may be collected from a first user via a first instantiation of the web browser extension and distributed to a second user via a second instantiation of the web browser extension. In several embodiments, the metadata may be collected and managed with instantiations of the web browser extension (herein after “WBE instants”) and a data manager may create, maintain, utilize, and/or communicate metadata in a datastore.

Abstract: A base station transmits configuration parameters of a cell to a wireless device. In an embodiment, the configuration parameters include bandwidth part (BWP) parameters of a first BWP and a default BWP, a first timer value associated with a cell deactivation timer, and a second timer value associated with a BWP inactivity timer. The base station may also transmit a downlink control information (DCI) indicating an activation of the cell for the wireless device, to the wireless device. In response to transmitting the DCI, the base station may further activate the cell for the wireless device and start the cell deactivation timer based on the first timer value. In response to activating the cell, the base station may activate the first BWP of the cell for the wireless device. The base station may also start the BWP inactivity timer based on the second timer value.

The method includes receiving, from a user device associated with a vehicle, a check-in communication that includes a check-in identifier. The method includes receiving a verification communication that verifies a presence of the vehicle relative to a sensor associated with the movable barrier. The method further includes causing a movable barrier operator associated with the movable barrier to move the movable barrier between closed and open positions in response to the check-in identifier indicating authorization to access the facility and in response to receiving the verification communication. Further, the method includes selecting a particular loading dock from the plurality of loading docks and communicating a loading dock identification representative of the particular loading dock to the user device to direct the vehicle to the particular loading dock.

Abstract: Disclosed and described herein are systems and methods of performing computer-aided detection (CAD)/diagnosis (CADx) in medical images and comparing the results of the comparison. Such detection can be used for treatment plans and verification of claims produced by healthcare providers, for the purpose of identifying discrepancies between the two. In particular, embodiments disclosed herein are applied to identifying dental caries (“caries”) in radiographs and comparing them against progress notes, treatment plans, and insurance claims.

Abstract: A hydraulic braking arrangement for controlling front brakes and rear brakes of an off-road vehicle includes a hydro-mechanical service brake system fluidly connecting front and rear brakes to a first source of fluid in pressure by means of a mechanical input which may be imparted by a driver of said off-road vehicle. The hydraulic braking arrangement also includes an additional service brake system fluidly connecting front and rear brakes to a second source of fluid in pressure by means of an electro-hydraulic proportional valve and a remote input.

Abstract: Embodiments described herein provide for a distributed antenna system including a host unit and an active antenna unit (AAU). The AAU is configured to wirelessly communicate with, and to receive uplink radio frequency (RF) signals from, one or more wireless devices. The AAU is further configured to sample the uplink RF signals to generate digitized RF data. The AAU includes an Ethernet interface for receiving Internet Protocol (IP) formatted data from an IP device coupled to the Ethernet interface. The AAU is configured to transport the digitized RF data and the IP formatted data over a transport signal to the host unit, the transport signal including a plurality of bits. The AAU is configured to adaptively adjust the number of bits that are allocated to the digitized RF data and the number of bits that are allocated to the IP formatted data.
