  • Patent number: 12272850
Abstract: The invention is directed to a mediated metal-sulfur flow battery. This battery format that is readily scalable to grid-scale levels at low cost, while maintaining battery safety by physically separating the anode and cathode. As an example, the marriage of a redox-targeting scheme to an engineered Li solid electrolyte interphase (SEI) enables a scalable, high efficiency, membrane-less Li—S redox flow battery. Redox mediators can be sued to kick-start the initial reduction of solid S into soluble polysulfides on the cathode side and final reduction of polysulfides into solid Li2S, precluding the need for conductive carbons. On the anode side, a LiI and LiNO3 pretreatment and additive strategy encourages a stable SEI and lessens capacity fade, avoiding the need for ion-selective separators.

  • Patent number: 12271729
Abstract: Platforms to support and manage an autonomous vehicle (AV) fleet can be implemented on and supported by cluster infrastructure. Cluster infrastructure may include different clusters, such as a cluster for an AV fleet with safety drivers, and a cluster for an AV fleet without safety drivers. Updates to the cluster infrastructure can be made to multiple clusters at once. Such updates may cause an outage that impacts multiple clusters and create a massive vehicle retrieval event for all AV fleets. To mitigate the risk and allow for prioritization of clusters, updates can be rolled out in a staged and ordered manner according to order values associated with different clusters. After applying an update to a cluster at a stage of the roll out, the cluster may be evaluated to confirm the success of the update, before the roll out can be moved to the next stage.

  • Patent number: 12268443
Abstract: A system for treating various medical conditions in humans includes a medical or therapeutic laser operating at wavelengths in the near infrared range of between 1250 nm-1267 nm, with a target wavelength of 1260 nm, at power levels between 2 Watts and 60 Watts, and for a period not to exceed 60 seconds per dose. The emitted laser light energizes, e.g., the stem cell niche or mitochondria of the human tissue to which it is applied, both directly and indirectly via activation of cell signaling intermediaries including but not limited to heat shock proteins, thereby stimulating cell activity to promote healing and reduce pain. In this specific wavelength range, water absorption of the laser light energy is plateaued which effectively acts as a conduit allowing the laser light energy to be transferred deeper into the tissue without causing thermal damage to the skin and tissue.

  • Patent number: 12272431
Abstract: A method for detecting false positive variant calls in a next generation sequencing analysis pipeline involves obtaining a plurality of read pileup windows associated with a first sample genome. The method also involves obtaining, for each reference nucleotide position represented in the plurality of read pileup windows, a label indicating that the reference nucleotide position is either (i) a known variant or (ii) a non-variant. The method further involves training a neural network based on data indicative of the plurality of read pileup windows and the labels. Additionally, the method involves receiving a read pileup window associated with a second sample genome. Further, the method involves determining, using the trained neural network, a likelihood that the read pileup window associated with the second sample genome represents a variant.
