  • Patent number: 12266186
Abstract: A method includes receiving, from a subscriber device, a request including virtual region characteristics and an occupancy threshold, and determining, using image data captured by a camera and the virtual region characteristics, a virtual region corresponding to a portion of a physical region within a field of view of the camera. The virtual region is smaller than the physical region. The method also includes determining, using the image data, an occupancy of the virtual region and determining that the occupancy of the virtual region satisfies the occupancy threshold. In response to determining that the occupancy of the virtual region satisfies the occupancy threshold, the method also includes generating a notification to the subscriber device.

  • Patent number: 12266874
Abstract: A control unit having a connection structure for connecting components of the control unit to a base plate which is cost effective, and facilitates heat transfer from a printed circuit board (PCB) to the base plate. The control unit includes circuitry mounted to a PCB, and the PCB is mounted to a base plate. The circuitry is over molded with epoxy material during manufacturing. The epoxy material flows between the PCB and the base plate, such that a layer of the epoxy is disposed between the PCB and the base plate. This layer of epoxy functions as a heat transfer layer, and a connection structure to connect the PCB to the base plate. The epoxy material transfers heat from the surface of the PCB in contact with the layer of epoxy to the surface of the base plate in contact with the layer of epoxy.

  • Patent number: 12265910
Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, for sharing learned information among robots. In some implementations, a robot obtains sensor data indicating characteristics of an object. The robot determines a classification for the object and generates an embedding for the object using a machine learning model stored by the robot. The robot stores the generated embedding and data indicating the classification for the object. The robot sends the generated embedding and the data indicating the classification to a server system. The robot receives, from the server system, an embedding generated by a second robot and a corresponding classification. The robot stores the received embedding and the corresponding classification in the local cache of the robot. The robot may then use the information in the cache to identify objects.

  • Patent number: 12266061
Abstract: Methods and systems described herein are directed to a virtual personal interface (herein “personal interface”) for controlling an artificial reality (XR) environment, such as by providing user interfaces for interactions with a current XR application, providing detail views for selected items, navigating between multiple virtual worlds without having to transition in and out of a home lobby for those worlds, executing aspects of a second XR application while within a world controlled by a first XR application, and providing 3D content that is separate from the current world. While in at least one of those worlds, the personal interface can itself present content in a runtime separate from the current virtual world, corresponding to an item, action, or application for that world. XR applications can be defined for use with the personal interface to create both a 3D world portion and 2D interface portions that are displayed via the personal interface.

  • Patent number: 12266358
Abstract: Implementations perform, independent of any explicit assistant invocation input(s), automatic speech recognition (ASR) on audio data, that is detected via microphone(s) of an assistant device, to generate ASR text that predicts a spoken utterance that is captured in the audio data. The ASR text is processed and candidate automated assistant action(s) that correspond to the command, if any, are generated. For each of any candidate automated assistant action(s), it is determined whether to (a) cause automatic performance of the automated assistant action responsive to the spoken utterance or, instead, (b) suppress any automatic performance of the automated assistant action responsive to the spoken utterance. Such determination can be made based on processing both (i) action feature(s) for the candidate automated assistant action; and (ii) environment feature(s) that each reflects a corresponding current value for a corresponding dynamic state of an environment of the assistant device.

  • Patent number: 12267289
Abstract: Disclosed in some examples are methods, systems, devices, and machine-readable mediums which provide for sidebar communication threads forked from, or related to, a principal thread. Messages in the sidebar communication thread may include a history of the principal thread, including one or more messages from the principal thread, and may include a proposed principal thread message that is the subject of the sidebar thread discussion. The sidebar thread may also include sidebar thread messages that carries the conversation of the sidebar thread participants. Once a termination condition is reached for the sidebar thread, the sidebar thread terminates and either the proposed principal thread message (as potentially modified by participants of the sidebar thread) becomes an accepted principal thread message and it is posted to the principal thread as if it was sent by the sidebar initiator or no message is posted (e.g., the proposed principal thread message is rejected).

  • Patent number: 12264935
Abstract: The technology relates to a navigation system that provides one or more routes from a starting location to a destination location, including a candidate parking location at or near the destination location. The starting location may be the current location of a user or the parking location from a previous navigation session. In some examples, the current location of the user may be the same location as the parking location from the previous navigation session. Each route suggestion may include one or more segments. For example, a route may include a first segment from the location of the user to the candidate parking spot and a second segment may be from the candidate parking location to the destination location. In some examples, there may be a third segment from the user's current location to the parking location from the previous navigation session.
