Abstract: Various arrangements for using a short-range wireless communication link are presented herein. A wireless communication device can transmit data using an asynchronous connection-oriented logical transport (ACL) of the short-range wireless communication link. Monitoring for a high throughput event on the ACL of the short-range wireless communication link can be performed. Based on detecting the high throughput event on the ACL, a first physical layer (PHY) symbol rate of the ACL can be increased to a second PHY symbol rate.

Abstract: A prosthetic heart valve for the treatment of structural heart disease wherein the prosthetic heart valve includes an expandable frame that is formed of a rhenium containing metal alloy. The novel geometry of the expandable frame in combination with the frame being partially or fully formed of the rhenium containing alloy enables the formation of a frame that a) has an open cell geometry in the frame of the prosthetic heart valve that can be used to reduce delivery system size, b) has high radial strength, c) has improved restoration of the physiologic EOA, d) has lower recoil, e) has no foreshortening, f) allows for proper placement of the bioprosthetic valve in relation to the native commissures of the valve, h) has symmetrical and cylindrical expansion of the prosthetic valve resulting in lower rates of leaflet thrombosis and structural valve deterioration, and i) prevents allergic response and restenosis associated with nickel content.

Abstract: The invention provides an oral solid formulation comprising (a) one or more controlled release components comprising a core comprising levodopa; and (b) one or more immediate release components comprising levodopa. The oral solid formulation also contains a decarboxylase inhibitor wherein the one or more controlled release components are substantially free of the decarboxylase inhibitor.

Abstract: An apparatus for packaging of loose product includes a loading station, a box forming station and an uploading station. The loading station includes moveable chutes in spaced apart relation. Each chute has an open top, an open upstream end, and an open downstream end. The open top is configured to receive loose product while moving along a first feed path. The box forming station is operable to partially erect boxes in spaced apart relation with first and second open sides and align the first open side of each box with the downstream end of a corresponding chute while moving along a second feed path. The unloading station includes a stationary vacuum head in communication with the second open side of each box. The vacuum head provides a continuous vacuum source along the second feed path operable to move loose product from the chute into the boxes.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure are directed to rubber formulations, wherein the formulations include a statistical copolymer. The statistical copolymer includes a polymerized, crosslinkable e reaction product derived from a conjugated diene monomer and vinylbenzocyclobutane. The rubber formulation is substantially free of traditional rubber curatives.

Abstract: A crossbow includes a center rail, a first flexible limb, a second flexible limb, a first cam, a second cam, a draw string, a string carrier, and a scope mount. The draw string is coupled with the first cam and the second cam and is configured to move between a released configuration and a drawn configuration. The string carrier is slidably engaged with the center rail and configured to move between a first position and a second position. In the first position, the string carrier is positioned at least partially between the scope mount and the center rail and is configured to engage the draw string, with the draw string in the released configuration. In the second position, the string carrier is configured to retain the draw string in the drawn configuration and the string carrier is positioned at least partially between the scope mount and the center rail.

Abstract: Digital image processing methods performed by a computer are disclosed. In one example, a first digital image captured by a real camera is sub-divided into a first plurality of sub-images. A second digital image captured by a real camera is sub-divided into a second plurality of sub-images. A set of image features in a first sub-image of the first plurality of sub-images is identified. A subset of neighboring sub-images is identified from the second plurality of sub-images based at least on each neighboring sub-image of the subset of neighboring sub-images having one or more corresponding image features in common with the set of image features identified in the first sub-image.

Abstract: An adjustment tool assembly for a firearm comprised of a double-sided adjuster tool and a housing having a handle. Each end of the double-sided adjuster tool can be comprised of a tool, each tool can have a shaft, and a middle portion can be positioned between the shaft of each tool end. The handle of the housing can have a receiving cavity for at least a portion of the double-sided adjuster tool, and the middle portion of the adjuster tool can engage with the receiving cavity to secure the adjuster tool to the handle.

Abstract: A method and apparatus comprising computer code configured to cause a processor or processors to obtain video data comprising at least one coded picture, reconstruct a coded picture including a film grain characteristics SEI message, an alpha channel information SEI message, and at least a first sample and a second sample and at least a third alpha map sample and a fourth alpha map sample, wherein after reconstruction the first sample and the third alpha map sample, and the second sample and first sample are spatially co-located; apply film grain synthesis to the first sample based on a first value of the third sample; and determine to not applying film grain syntheses to the second sample based on a second value of the fourth sample, wherein the first value and second value are different from each other.

Abstract: A data processing system implements a cache-conscious aggregation framework for cache-efficient top-k aggregation over high cardinality large datasets. The framework leverages skew in the distribution of data in the datasets to minimize data movements within the local caches of the cores of the multicore processors of the data processing system. The framework performs representative sampling on the dataset and utilizes these samples to identify candidate groups in the dataset for the top-k results. The system performs exact aggregations for the candidate groups and performs hashing and pruning on the non-candidate groups in the dataset to identify top-k results included in the non-candidate groups without having to calculate the exact aggregations for the non-candidate groups.

Abstract: Tamper-evident plastic container comprises a base portion having a sidewall and a base flange extending outwardly from at least a portion of the sidewall, and a lid portion having a lid tab joined to the base flange by a hinge, wherein the lid portion has an open position and a closed position. The lid portion is configured to lockingly engage the base portion in the closed position. One of the base flange or the lid tab has a non-linear path of weakness formed therein to define a frangible connection, wherein the frangible connection is configured to be ruptured to initially open the lid portion from the closed position. The non-linear path of weakness is spaced from the hinge to define a tamper indicator region between the non-linear path of weakness and the hinge, wherein the tamper indicator region remains joined to the hinge after the frangible connection is ruptured.

Abstract: Embodiments are presented herein for a panable camera with trailer length and object detection for vehicles equipped with cameras to supplement or replace mirrors commonly used today. In one embodiment, a vehicle controller is provided comprising: one or more processors; a non-transitory computer-readable medium; and program instructions stored on the non-transitory computer-readable medium. The program instructions, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the one or more processors to: cause a side-view camera on a tractor to capture image(s) of leading, lower, upper and/or trailing edges of a trailer coupled with the tractor; and estimate a length of the trailer based on the image(s) captured by the side-view camera. Abstract: An electrically operated aerosol-generating system may include a liquid storage portion configured to store a liquid from which aerosol may be generated, an electric heater, a capillary wick extending between the liquid storage portion and the electric heater and configured to convey liquid from the liquid storage portion to the electric heater and electric circuitry connected to the electric heater. The electric circuitry may be configured to: activate the electric heater for a first heating time period in response to an input to vaporize liquid in the capillary wick, activate the electric heater for a second heating time period upon the elapse of a first cooling time period after the first heating time period, record a temperature measurement of the electric heater during the second heating time period, and determine an amount of liquid in the liquid storage portion based on the temperature measurement.

As one example, an illustrative vehicle includes: one or more ultrasonic sensors configured for proximity sensing; and a controller configured to use the one or more ultrasonic sensors to receive an acoustic signal from a smart device. As another example, an illustrative vehicle includes one or more microphones configured for at least one of noise cancellation, voice control, emergency vehicle detection, and proximity sensing; and a controller configured to use the one or more microphones to receive an acoustic signal from a smart device, the acoustic signal being in the frequency range between 18 kHz and 25 kHz, inclusive.

Abstract: The present document describes a video-recording doorbell. In aspects, the video-recording doorbell provides a compact, space-efficient, electronic-doorbell camera device. Thermal control is enhanced by dividing the heat sink into separate sections for different heat-dissipating subassemblies. The video-recording doorbell includes a robust waterproofing system that enables mechanical movement of the button when a user presses the button to initiate a chime event. For an enhanced user experience, the video-recording doorbell also includes a mounting system that is easy to install and provides added security against theft.

Abstract: An underwater watercraft including a passenger compartment and an ingress/egress port in which the watercraft has buoyancy and center of gravity adjusted to maintain a generally level or other desired attitude when submerged, and an optionally angled attitude at a water surface for ingress/egress. The attitude is also adjustable via the placement of ballast and optionally including a movable ballast that adjusts the location of the center of gravity as desired. The ingress-egress port optionally includes an entry elevated from a main passenger compartment and including a riser and optionally removable or concealable handrails. The ingress-egress port has an angled orientation in a submerged mode, and an optional orientation generally parallel to the water surface or angled but above the surface in a surface mode.

Abstract: A hot-rolled steel sheet is defined by the following composition by weight percentage: 0.040%<carbon<0.06%, 1.20%<manganese<1.50%, 0.02%<aluminum<0.04%, 0.09%<titanium<0.15%, 0.15%<silicon<0.40%, 0.00%<copper<0.20%, with the balance being iron and impurities inherent in processing. The hot-rolled steel sheet has a tensile strength equal to or greater than 780 MPa. The elimination of cold rolling and high temperature annealing process is the essence of this innovation for the production of high strength sheet steels down to a thickness of 1.4 mm.

Abstract: A heterogeneous sensor system includes a magnetic field sensor and an inductive sensor. A checker is configured to receive the magnetic field sensor output signal and the inductive sensor output signal and determine whether an error has occurred based on a comparison of the magnetic field sensor output signal and the inductive sensor output signal. Targets include at least a portion that is conductive and may include a ferromagnetic portion for back biased magnetic sensing. Additional features include on axis and off axis positioning of the sensors with respect to the target, multi-track targets for absolute position sensing, angle sensing and torque sensing configurations.
