Patent number: 11938649Abstract: In various embodiments, a scanner optimizer system may generate a virtual model of a predicted flitch based on a 3D model of a log/cant and a cut solution for the log/cant. The scanner optimizer system may compare a virtual model of an actual flitch to virtual models of predicted flitches by comparing data points at a fixed elevation relative to one or both faces of the models. Based on the comparisons, the scanner optimizer system may identify the source log from which the actual flitch was cut. In addition, the scanner optimizer system may identify the saw used to cut the actual flitch, and/or other relevant information, and use the additional information to monitor and adjust the saws and other equipment. Embodiments of corresponding apparatuses and methods are also described.Type: GrantFiled: April 29, 2021Date of Patent: March 26, 2024Assignee: USNR, LLCInventors: Paul W. Green, Dwayne Seawai Fujima

Patent number: 11940133Abstract: A frame having a clip for securing the frame to an article of clothing or other object. The frame includes a mount for receiving a removable module and a rotatably attached clip. The clip includes an opening for accommodating sewing ribs between portions of a webbing and a gate (which may be a locking wire) moveable between an open position and a closed position at one end of the opening. In the open position, the locking wire removably engages one of a pair of elongated members defining the opening, e.g., by removably engaging that elongated member at a recess in an outside edge thereof, and does not obstruct the opening. When in the closed position, the locking wire removably engages the other of the elongated members, for example by removably engaging that other elongated member at a recess in its outside edge, and obstructs the longitudinal opening.Type: GrantFiled: December 5, 2022Date of Patent: March 26, 2024Assignee: First-Light USA, LLCInventors: Jeremy B. Patent number: 11943464Abstract: Innovations in syntax and semantics of coded picture buffer removal delay (“CPBRD”) values potentially simplify splicing operations. For example, a video encoder sets a CPBRD value for a current picture that indicates an increment value relative to a nominal coded picture buffer removal time of a preceding picture in decoding order, regardless of whether the preceding picture has a buffering period SEI message. The encoder can signal the CPBRD value according to a single-value approach in which a flag indicates how to interpret the CPBRD value, according to a two-value approach in which another CPBRD value (having a different interpretation) is also signaled, or according to a two-value approach that uses a flag and a delta value. A corresponding video decoder receives and parses the CPBRD value for the current picture. A splicing tool can perform simple concatenation operations to splice bitstreams using the CPBRD value for the current picture.Type: GrantFiled: April 18, 2023Date of Patent: March 26, 2024Assignee: Microsoft Technology Licensing, LLCInventors: Gary J. Patent number: 11943488Abstract: Systems, methods, and articles for assigning content, such as advertisements, to similar content breaks, such as advertisement placement opportunities, across multiple content providers. The systems disclosed herein automatically identify similar advertisement placement opportunities, such as advertisement placement opportunities occurring at the same time, across a plurality of media content providers, and assign an indicated advertisement spot to as many of the identified advertisement placement opportunities as possible. This is achieved by re-assigning advertisement spots which are already assigned to a slot in one of the advertisement placement opportunities to another slot in order to allow the indicated advertisement spot to be assigned to the slot.Type: GrantFiled: April 8, 2022Date of Patent: March 26, 2024Assignee: WideOrbit LLCInventors: Trevan Zosel, Brian Edward Thoman, Francisco Lopez Alvarez, William E. Patent number: 11940864Abstract: A multiphase power supply including a controller and phases can respond to a drop in load level by reducing all but one active phase to reduce power consumption. If the load level drops further, further reduction of the power consumption could be achieved by reducing, changing, or disabling the functions of some circuits within the active phase during these conditions. Estimating these conditions, however, may be difficult for a controller when the communication between the controller and the phase is limited. The disclosure describes an active phase that estimates a state of the load based on a sensed output current and a pulse width modulation control signal. The active phase may change its operating mode to match the estimated state of the load so that lighter load conditions consume less power. Furthermore, the idle phase(s) may nearly turn off all function except PWM detection to save power. Because this mode change is local to the phase, no additional communication with the controller is required.Type: GrantFiled: August 20, 2021Date of Patent: March 26, 2024Assignee: SEMICONDUCTOR COMPONENTS INDUSTRIES, LLCInventor: Han Zou
