  • Patent number: 11918362
Abstract: A surgical method aids identification of nerves in a body to help prevent damage to the nerves during surgery to the body proximate the nerves. An electrode introduced to within a body cavity through a catheter is placed proximate a nerve within the body cavity by a laparoscopic or robotic device. An exploratory probe placed in the body cavity is selectively placed along a presumed pathway of the nerve to provide an electrical signal through the nerve to the electrode. An analyzer interfaced with the electrode analyzes the electrical signal received at the electrode to determine the proximity of the exploratory probe to the nerve, allowing mapping of the nerve pathway through the body cavity.

  • Patent number: 11922932
Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer-readable storage media, for speech recognition using attention-based sequence-to-sequence models. In some implementations, audio data indicating acoustic characteristics of an utterance is received. A sequence of feature vectors indicative of the acoustic characteristics of the utterance is generated. The sequence of feature vectors is processed using a speech recognition model that has been trained using a loss function that uses a set of speech recognition hypothesis samples, the speech recognition model including an encoder, an attention module, and a decoder. The encoder and decoder each include one or more recurrent neural network layers. A sequence of output vectors representing distributions over a predetermined set of linguistic units is obtained. A transcription for the utterance is obtained based on the sequence of output vectors. Data indicating the transcription of the utterance is provided.

  • Patent number: 11920354
Abstract: A modular guardrail system relates to a set of interconnected beams that each fit into pairs of detachable bases, thus allowing for the creation, adjustment, and removal of a variety of configurations of temporary fence-style barriers. Each guardrail section may include two vertical posts, one on each end of each guardrail section, connected by a set of horizontal beams and, in some cases, a horizontal toeplate. Adjacent guardrail sections share a common base, thus allowing for the chain assembly of an extended barrier. The base that connects to the guardrail sections may include several vertically-oriented brackets that may slide into the different guardrail posts. The placement of the vertical brackets upon the base is selected so that each of the attached guardrail sections can be arranged independently of one another in any direction. The vertical brackets may be rotatably attached, thereby allowing for more flexible arrangements of the guardrail sections.

  • Patent number: 11920443
Abstract: A bypass plunger combines a unitary or one-piece hollow body-and-valve cage, retains a dart valve within the valve cage portion of the hollow body using a threaded retaining nut secured by crimple detents. A series of helical grooves surround the central portion of the outer surface of the hollow body of the plunger to control spin during descent. A canted-coil-spring disposed within the retaining nut functions as a clutch. The valve cage includes ports that may be configured to control flow through the plunger during ascent. Other embodiments include clutch assemblies using canted-coil springs with split bobbins, and valve stems surfaced to achieve specific functions. Combinations of these features provide enhanced performance, durability and reliability at reduced manufacturing cost, due primarily to the simplicity of its design.

  • Patent number: 11924655
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for dynamically adjusting a 4G LTE reference signal power level to match a 5G New Radio (NR) coverage footprint to avoid voice over 4G fallback failures for 5G subscribers. Initially, a subscriber making a voice call while in NR coverage may be directed to fall back to LTE in a process known as voice over evolved packet system fallback (VoEPSFB). If the LTE signal strength is worse due to non-optimal settings of the LTE reference signal, the subscriber experiences call setup failure. After the call setup failure, the UE transitions back to the gNodeB. Since the gNodeB knows the UE attempted to fall back to LTE (as well as how soon the UE transitioned back to the gNodeB), a notification is triggered that instructs the LTE base station to increase its reference signal power level.
