Abstract: A lighting control system for controlling a cumulative light emitted by a lighting fixture may comprise a light-emitting diode (LED) driver comprising an output for conducting an output current, and a control module electrically coupled to the output of the LED driver for receiving the output current. The LED driver may regulate the magnitude of the output current towards a target current, and may be characterized by a low-end intensity. The control module may be coupled to a first LED light source of the LED light sources. The control module may receive a command including a requested intensity and control the magnitude of a first LED current through the first LED light source. The control module may control the cumulative light output of the lighting fixture below the low-end intensity of the LED driver by diverting a portion of the output current away from the first LED light source.

Abstract: One or more techniques and/or systems are disclosed for formulating a skin care product to mitigate aging or to restore damaged skin. One skin care product includes a blend of growth factors, peptides, and amino acids. Also disclosed is a skin care product formed from a synthesized protein matrix. The synthesized protein matrix can mimic the regenerative effects of human placental proteins, which are desirable when applied to skin because, as skin loses its regenerative properties, humans shows signs of aging, and a decrease in healing capabilities. The exemplary skin-care products disclosed herein can be applied to skin to help mitigate this skin aging process or to restore damaged skin.
Abstract: A stent for vascular interventions having a hybrid open cell geometry. Variants of the stent include bare metal stents and drug-eluting stents. Embodiments of the stent include end projections for radiopaque markers or a discontinuous partial radiopaque coating on low-stress or low-strain regions of the peripheral stent. The stents of the invention are characterized by having thin walls, nested rows of struts, high expansion ratio, high and uniform radial force over entire diametric size and length of device, crush resistance up to and including about 90% of its fully expanded diameter, high fatigue resistance and high corrosion resistance.
Abstract: A system and method of confirming administration of medication is provided. The method comprises the steps of receiving information identifying a particular medication prescription regimen, determining one or more procedures for administering such prescription regimen and identifying one or more activity sequences associated with such procedures. Activity sequences of actual administration of such prescription regimen are captured and then compared to the identified activity sequences to determine differences therebetween. A notice is provided if differences are determined.
Abstract: A cannulated headless compression screw is provided with an attachment mechanism that enables coupling various attachments to the headless compression screw. The headless compression screw includes a screw thread on its exterior that is adapted to effect compression between two bone fragments. For instance, the exterior screw thread may have a variable pitch formed to effect such compression. The interior of the headless compression screw's trailing end includes an interface that is adapted to engage with a driving instrument. A surgeon may drive the headless compression screw into bone via the driving instrument and then access the attachment mechanism to couple an attachment to the headless compression screw.
Abstract: A computer implemented method includes accessing a first status of a first battery pack interface coupled to a load via a first load switch and accessing a second status of a second battery pack interface coupled to the load via a second load switch. The first status and the second status are compared and the first and second load switches are controlled based on the comparing to balance remaining capacities of the first and second battery packs.

Abstract: A method and apparatus is provided for controlling the operation of an autonomous vehicle. According to one aspect, the autonomous vehicle may track the trajectories of other vehicles on a road. Based on the other vehicle's trajectories, the autonomous vehicle may generate a pool of combined trajectories. Subsequently, the autonomous vehicle may select one of the combined trajectories as a representative trajectory. The representative trajectory may be used to change at least one of the speed or direction of the autonomous vehicle.
Abstract: Described herein is a method, system, and non-transitory computer readable medium for preventing data loss from both producer and consumer systems in continuous availability event-driven applications. The process for preventing data loss may replicate events at the broker level, and selectively receive replica events at the consumer level to account for the case the originally sent event is not received, while conserving computer and network resources. Alternatively, events and replica events may be received in duplicate. In either mode of reception, machine-learning may be used for implementing algorithms which further help to conserve resources and aid in preventing further data loss.
Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for operating a vehicle that includes an electric machine as a propulsion source. In one example, a motor stall assessment level is generated based on an amount of time that the motor is stalled and an amount of torque that is generated by the motor. Mitigating actions may be performed if the motor stall assessment level exceeds a threshold level or value.
