Abstract: A metronome includes a body, a sensor coupled to the body and a controller in communication with the sensor. The sensor is configured to detect one or more strikes by a user of the metronome. The controller is configured to receive a first user input to select a tap tempo mode, detect via the sensor a strike by the user on the body of the metronome, determine a tempo based on a plurality of strikes by the user. The controller is further configured to detect modulation of how the strikes are made to the body of the metronome and automatically adjust the tempo based on the detected modulation of the strike.

Abstract: Various embodiments are directed to a barrel for a firearm. In various embodiments, a barrel comprises an inner surface defining a bore configured to guide a projectile as the projectile is propelled through the bore by pressurized gas; and a barrel gas port having a gas port depth extending between a port entrance defined by the inner surface of the barrel and a port exit, wherein the barrel gas port is configured to fluidically communicate with the bore and an action of the firearm; wherein the port entrance defines a length dimension defined parallel to a longitudinal axis of the barrel and a width dimension defined perpendicular to the length dimension; and wherein the length dimension of the port entrance is greater than the width dimension of the port entrance. Various embodiments are directed to a firearm comprising the exemplary barrel.

Abstract: Mechanisms for authorizing requests to access a resource are provided, the methods comprising: receiving a request to access the resource at a hardware processor from an Internet Protocol (IP) address; determining whether a rule applies to the request to access the resource; in response to determining that a rule does not apply to the request to access the resource, sending a request for authorization; receiving a response to the request for authorization; and in response to the response to the request for authorization indicating that access is authorized, providing a connection to the resource.

Abstract: A method of operating a computing device in support of improved accessibility includes displaying a user interface to an application on a display screen of the computing device, wherein the computing device includes an accessibility assistant that reads an audible description of an element of the user interface; initiating, on the computing device, a virtual assistant that conducts an audible conversation between a user and the virtual assistant through at least a microphone and a speaker associated with the computing device, wherein the virtual assistant is not integrated with an operating system of the computing device; inhibiting an ability of the accessibility assistant to read the audible description of the element of the user interface; and upon transition of the virtual assistant from an active state, enabling the ability of the accessibility assistant.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatus for controlling smart devices are described. In one aspect a method includes receiving image data for an image captured by a camera of a mobile device of a user and determining that the image depicts at least one of a smart device or a physical control for the smart device. In response to determining that that the image depicts a smart device or a physical control for the smart device, identifying one or more user interface controls for controlling the smart device, and generating and presenting, at a display of the mobile device, the one or more user interface controls for controlling the smart device. The method can further include detecting, at the display of the mobile device, user interaction with at least one of the one or more user interface controls, and controlling the smart device based on the detected user interaction.

The method includes receiving, via a user device, parameter values from a user and receiving parameter weights. The method further includes determining a sort score for each vehicle of a set of vehicles based on the received parameter values and parameter weights, and sorting the set of vehicles based on the sort score of each vehicle of the set of vehicles.

Abstract: A system for transmitting power and data between two circuit boards may include a fixed circuit board having a primary coil and a rotatable circuit board having a secondary coil. The system may further include a sensor in communication with the secondary coil of the rotatable circuit board. The fixed circuit board's primary coil may be inductively coupled to the secondary coil and may provide power and receive data from the sensor when inductively coupled to the secondary coil.

Abstract: A control system for a vehicle includes a touch screen, a Controller Area Network (CAN) microcontroller, and an embedded computer assembly (ECA). The touch screen is configured to receive a user input. The touch screen is physically mounted directly on either side of a steering wheel of the vehicle. The CAN microcontroller is configured to communicate with a CAN bus of the vehicle. The ECA includes processing circuitry configured to obtain a user input from the touch screen and provide a control signal to the CAN microcontroller and the CAN bus of the vehicle to perform a requested vehicle function according to the user input. The touch screen and the ECA are retrofit on the vehicle and the ECA is configured to intersect, suppress, modify, or reproduce communications on the CAN bus of the vehicle.

Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure are directed to a mini-map coordination system that can facilitate interactions between co-located and non-co-located users by providing a min-map through an artificial reality system. The mini-map can be a representation of a virtual space that corresponds to a real-world space in which some users are located and that other users join virtually. Users can join the space by entering the real-world space or by remotely logging into the virtual space. Users who have joined the virtual space can be represented in the mini-map by avatars. Users moving their avatars around the mini-map can trigger interactions, such as automatically initiating a holographic call between the users whose avatars come within a threshold distance of each other. The system can allow remote users to observe social norms such as requiring a user to “knock” before their avatar is allowed to enter a private space.

Abstract: Embodiments of this disclosure relate to systems and methods for determining a set of one or more identified characteristics correlated with high performing projects. Methods include receiving communication data from a plurality of servers, the communication data associated with a plurality of conversations involving one or more users. The communication data is converted into a common format and used to generate a graph, the graph based upon characteristics identified in the communication data and users involved with the plurality of conversations. The communication data can be clustered according to the characteristics and the users, thereby generating one or more clusters around at least one of a characteristic and a user. User data and project data can be generated based on the one or more clusters and be used to determine the set of one or more identified characteristics correlated with high performing projects.

Abstract: An Electronic Health Record (EHR) data blockchain system configured to allow multiple entities (e.g., pharmacy industry entities and healthcare providers that can act as data, service, product and service providers, and consumers) to connect to an EHR patient transaction blockchain (e.g., EHR-DATA-BC) and an EHR Data Patient Portal (e.g., EHR-Data-PP) to provide a centralized location for messages and subsequent edits to ensure uniform message data is presented. The EHR data blockchain system can include an EHR Data API, an EHR patient transaction blockchain API, and an EHR patient transaction blockchain. The EHR data blockchain system can provide workflow on the blockchain that can utilize smart contracts to define workflow processes, expected outcomes, and financial costs. When a prescription transaction is complete, it will result in the settlement of each of the smart contracts that were added to the prescription workflow.

In some embodiments, a system for adapting a water softener with a serial communication port for communication with a user via a remote server, an internet connection, and internet enabled device is provided, the system comprising: a wireless gateway device connected to a router; and a wireless adapter connected to the serial communication port, comprising: a gateway node; a transceiver; and a processor programmed to: establish a wireless connection with the wireless gateway; receive a first message from the water softener; cause the gateway node to modify the first message; cause the first modified message to be transmitted to the remote server via the wireless gateway; receive a second message from the remote server; modify the second message for output to the water softener; and transmit the second modified message to the water softener.

The methods comprise: causing bellows to transition from expanded states to collapsed states by removing a first fluid therefrom (the bellows being coupled to opposing sidewalls of a chassis configured to structurally support at least one circuit card); receiving the at least one circuit card in a cavity of the chassis; causing the bellows to transition from the collapsed states to at least partially expanded states by allowing the first fluid to enter the bellows; applying a pushing force by each said bellow to an intermediary structure disposed between the bellow and the circuit card; and creating a seal between the intermediary structure and the circuit card when the bellow is in the at least partially expanded state.
