Abstract: The present disclosure relates generally to systems and methods for recycling lead-acid batteries, and more specifically, relates to purifying and recycling the lead content from lead-acid batteries. A system includes a reactor that receives and mixes a lead-bearing material waste, a carboxylate source, and a recycled liquid component to form a leaching mixture yielding a lead carboxylate precipitate. The system also includes a phase separation device coupled to the reactor, wherein the phase separation device isolates the lead carboxylate precipitate from a liquid component of the leaching mixture. The system further includes a closed-loop liquid recycling system coupled to the phase separation device and to the reactor, wherein the closed-loop liquid recycling system receives the liquid component isolated by the phase separation device and recycles a substantial portion of the received liquid component back to the reactor as the recycled liquid component.

Abstract: Techniques are disclosed that enable processing of audio data to generate one or more refined versions of audio data, where each of the refined versions of audio data isolate one or more utterances of a single respective human speaker. Various implementations generate a refined version of audio data that isolates utterance(s) of a single human speaker by processing a spectrogram representation of the audio data (generated by processing the audio data with a frequency transformation) using a mask generated by processing the spectrogram of the audio data and a speaker embedding for the single human speaker using a trained voice filter model. Output generated over the trained voice filter model is processed using an inverse of the frequency transformation to generate the refined audio data.

Abstract: A vehicle electric machine includes a stator core having an inner diameter defining a plurality of slots, an outer diameter, and a plurality of mounting ears disposed radially outboard of the outer diameter. At least one of the mounting ears defines a cooling channel extending in an axial direction of the stator core. A radial distance between a center of the stator core and the cooling channel is greater than a radial distance between the center and the outer diameter. The machine further includes windings having portions disposed in the slots and end windings adjacent to an end face of the stator core.

Abstract: A method for accessing customer data includes receiving an access request requesting access to customer data stored on a storage abstraction. The access request includes a justification that specifies a purpose/reason for requesting access to the customer data. The method also includes validating the justification, and after validating the justification, transmitting the justification to an external key management service associated with a customer of the customer data. The external key management service is configured to grant or deny access to the customer data based on the justification. The method also includes receiving an approved access token from the external key management service when the external key management service grants access to the customer data and accessing the customer data stored on the storage abstraction using the approved access token received from the external key management service.

Abstract: A box is made by folding a sheet of material. Preferably, the box is formed by applying adhesive and folding using a machine, and a waterproof or water resistant coating is applied so that the box is configured for use as a cooler. The box includes (a) a storage portion, including a bottom panel, a first end panel, a second end panel, a first side panel, and a second side panel; (b) four corner panels; (c) a top panel including tabs; and (d) a latching panel attached to the first side panel and pivotable relative thereto about a fold line, the latching panel including first and second subpanels. The latching panel includes cuts extending between and dividing the first and second subpanels through which the tabs respectively extend when the cooler is in a closed position.

The movable second leg is configurable into an operational position and into a folded position. The movable third leg is configurable into an operational position and into a folded position. The folded positions of the movable second leg and the movable third leg facilitate transport and storage of the device.

Abstract: Apparatus and method for managing data in a processing system, such as but not limited to a data storage device such as a solid-state drive (SSD). A ferroelectric stack register memory has a first arrangement of ferroelectric memory cells (FMEs) of a first construction and a second arrangement of FMEs of a different, second construction arranged to provide respective cache lines for use by a controller, such as a programmable processor. A pointer mechanism is configured to provide pointers to point to each of the respective cache lines based on a time sequence of operation of the processor. Data sets can be migrated to the different arrangements by the controller as required based on the different operational characteristics of the respective FME constructions. The FMEs may be non-volatile and read-destructive. Refresh circuitry can be selectively enacted under different operational modes.

Abstract: A motor control system includes a DC motor and a ripple count circuit. The DC motor includes a rotor that rotates in response to a drive current. The rotation of the rotor generates a mechanical force that drives a component. The ripple count circuit includes an active filter circuit and a parasitic pulse cancellation circuit. The active filter circuit is configured to filter the drive current and to generate a pulsed signal. The parasitic pulse cancelation circuit is in signal communication with the ripple count circuit to receive the pulsed signal and generates a ripple count signal that excludes parasitic pulses included in the pulsed signal having a parasitic voltage level that exceeds a voltage level of a voltage threshold. The parasitic pulse cancelation circuit actively adjusts the voltage level of the voltage threshold based at least in part on a rotational direction of the rotor.

Abstract: A retention bracket configured for use with a latch mechanism including a laterally extending housing. The retention bracket includes a first wall, a second wall, a collar, and a deformable section. The first and second walls are longitudinally offset from one another and are structured to receive the housing therebetween. The collar extends longitudinally outward from one of the walls and defines an opening having an effective diameter. The deformable section has a natural state in which the effective diameter is a first diameter, and a deformed state in which the effective diameter is a second diameter greater than the first diameter.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on a computer storage medium, for rollback resistant security are disclosed. In one aspect, a method, during a boot process of a computing device, includes the actions of obtaining a secret key derived from device-specific information for the computing device. The method further includes verifying that a signature for a software module is valid. The method further includes obtaining information indicating a current version of the software module. The method further includes using the secret key to generate a first encryption key corresponding to the current version of the software module and a second encryption key corresponding to a prior version of the software module. The method further includes preventing future access to the secret key until the computing device is rebooted. The method further includes providing the software module access to the first encryption key and the second encryption key.

Abstract: An unloader for a shipping container includes a supporter having a frame structure and a pallet base supported by the frame structure and configured to receive the pallet and support the shipping container in an elevated position. A gate moving mechanism is supported by the pallet base and configured to engage the moveable gate assembly when the full shipping container is positioned onto the pallet base. A material director has a first end located beneath the pallet base subjacent of the gate moving mechanism. The material director extends downwardly from the pallet base and terminates at a second end opposite the first end. Bulk material is dispensed from the shipping container into the first end and is discharged from the second end of the material director. Shipping containers may be positioned onto and removed from the pallet base without disassembly of the unloader.

Abstract: The invention includes an orally ingestible delivery system for releasing a therapeutic agent within an intestine of a mammal, where the system includes the therapeutic agent and a differentially permeable capsule system containing the therapeutic agent within a therapeutic agent compartment, with the differentially permeable capsule system dimensionally adapted for oral ingestion and for passage into a stomach of the mammal and thence into the intestine, wherein the differentially permeable capsule system comprises an acid-resistant shell and a dispersible acid barrier, wherein the dispersible acid barrier forms while the orally-ingestible delivery system is in the stomach; and wherein the dispersible acid barrier is dispersed in the intestine, thereby permitting enzymes in the intestine to reach the therapeutic agent compartment. The invention also includes methods of manufacturing the system and methods for its use.

Abstract: A digital fluid heating system may include a solar collection system configured for focusing sunlight on a focal axis, an elongated flow element arranged and configured for transporting fluid along the solar collection system at the focal axis, and a flow-control assembly comprising a digitally controlled valve configured to control the flow of the fluid in the elongated flow element such that pathogens present in the fluid are substantially inactivated before the fluid exits the fluid heating system and at a maximized flow rate under the given energy providing conditions. The system may also include one or more digital controls and communication systems for remote and/or automatic control.

Abstract: A method of controlling a concentration or range of concentrations of a liquid or gas in an enclosure is provided. The method includes positioning an injection station within the enclosure. the injection station includes a liquid or gas source, a sprayer assembly and a system that delivers the liquid or gas from the liquid or gas source to the sprayer assembly. A concentration level of the liquid or gas in the environment surrounding the injection station is monitored using a sensor and the sensor providing a signal indicative of the concentration level to a controller. The controller controls the flow of the liquid or gas to the sprayer assembly based on the signal.

Abstract: A portable air filtration system for efficiently installing an air filtration system to a barrier which may be easily removed or replaced. The portable air filtration system generally includes a filtration unit which is adapted to be secured to a barrier over an opening in the barrier. The filtration unit includes a first connector which may include a fastener or a magnetic element. A second connector is provided to secure the filtration unit to the barrier, with the second connector including a fastener or a magnetic element on its first side to engage with the first connector and an adhesive on its second side to engage with the barrier. The filtration unit may also include a removable one-way valve such as a flap and an optional secondary filter.
