Abstract: A temporary diameter reduction constraint arrangement for a stent graft in combination with a stent graft is disclosed. The stent graft has a proximal end and a distal end and comprises a biocompatible graft material tube and a plurality of longitudinally spaced apart self-expanding stents fastened thereto, including at least an end stent and a plurality of intermediate stents. The constraint arrangement comprises: an elongate receiver extending longitudinally within the graft material tube; a first wire extending longitudinally along the graft material tube in a first serpentine pattern; and a second wire extending longitudinally along the graft material tube in a second serpentine pattern, wherein at least one of the first and second wires repeatedly loops over the receiver along a longitudinal length of the stent graft thereby securing the stent graft to the receiver. In one embodiment there is also a plurality of loops of thread to reduce the stent graft.
Abstract: A system and method limit the scope of video analytics performed by a processor with limited processing power, such as an edge processor in communication with multiple imaging devices disposed within a monitored area. According to one embodiment, the processor accesses image data from each image capture device and performs non-operational video analytics to detect objects within the respective image data. The processor compares the detected objects in the respective image data over one or more time lapse periods. Based on results of the comparisons, the processor determines parameters for configuration files for the image capture devices, where each configuration file includes parameters for adjusting the respective image capture device to capture images of one or more particular areas of interest within the monitored area and/or disabling a transfer of image data from the respective image capture device. The processor communicates each configuration file to its respective image capture device.
Abstract: The technology relates to a memory insertion machine for inserting memory modules into memory sockets on a circuit board. The memory insertion machine may include one or more insertion rods moveably mounted to one or more vertical guides and an insertion controller. The insertion controller may be configured to apply an insertion force to a memory module in a memory socket by controlling the movement of the one or more insertion rods on the one or more vertical guides. The movement of the one or more insertion rods may have a gradually decreasing deceleration as the insertion rods move towards the memory socket.
Abstract: In one aspect, methods are described herein for enhancing one or more nucleic acid interactions. For example, in some embodiments, methods of enhancing one or more steps of polymerase chain reaction (PCR) are described herein. In some embodiments, the optimal temperature cycling protocol for one or more PCR cycles can be determined according to methods described herein.
Abstract: A subcutaneously implantable device includes a housing and an anchoring mechanism attached to the housing that is configured to anchor the device to a muscle, a bone, and/or a first tissue. The device further includes a first prong with a proximal end attached to the housing and a distal end extending away from the housing that is configured to be positioned adjacent to a first blood vessel, and a first electrode on the distal end of the first prong that is configured to be positioned adjacent to the first blood vessel. Circuitry in the housing is in electrical communication with the first electrode that is configured to deliver electrical stimulation using the electrode to create an electric field around the blood vessel.
Abstract: A computing system includes a distributed computing cluster including a plurality of computing nodes interconnected by an interconnect network over which the computing nodes of the plurality of computing nodes communicate with each other by passing messages. The computing nodes are configured with a first parameter governing transmissions of messages by the computing nodes over the interconnect network. The computing nodes are configured to accumulate messages for transmission as a group of messages according to the first parameter, and the computing system is configured to limit injections of computing requests into the distributed computing cluster according to a second parameter. A controller is configured to receive at least one predetermined service level requirement and to control a value of the second parameter and a value of the first parameter to control a computational throughput of the distributed computing cluster while complying with the at least one service level requirement.
Abstract: Some embodiments may include a poker indexing service. For example, a multi-dimensional vector of player performance and/or other data may be determined based on gaming related activity that is input or otherwise captured. Such a vector may be used in various forms to generate a metric or to facilitate wagering and/or other gaming activity. Other methods and apparatus are described.

Abstract: During operation, a computer receives an attachment request from a radio node, where the attachment request is associated with an electronic device, and includes an identifier of the radio node, an identifier of the electronic device and an identifier of a service provider. Then, the computer determines a first entity identifier of an entity based at least in part on the identifier of the radio node and a second entity identifier of the entity based at least in part on the identifier of the electronic device. When the first entity identifier matches the second entity identifier, the computer performs authentication of the electronic device. Alternatively, if the entity identifiers are different, but the identifier of the service provider matches a stored identifier, the computer performs the authentication of the electronic device. Otherwise, the computer does not allow the electronic device to attach to a private or neutral-host network.
Abstract: In one aspect, the present disclosure relates to a method for method for efficient allocation of bandwidth in a wireless network. The method can include: identifying a plurality of network interfaces on a first user device; initializing a virtual network resource associated with the plurality of network interfaces; receiving, at the virtual network resource, data packets from an app executing on the first user device, the data packets destined for a remote device; sending a first portion of the data packets to the remote device via a first one of the plurality of network interfaces; and sending a second portion of the data packets to the remote device via a second one of the plurality of network interfaces. An aggregation platform can be configured to receive and reconstitute the first and second portions of the data packets, and to transmit the reconstituted data packets to the remote device.
Abstract: A tendon-driven robotic gripper is disclosed for performing fingertip and enveloping grasps. One embodiment comprises two fingers, each with two links, and is actuated using a single active tendon. During unobstructed closing, the distal links remain parallel, creating exact fingertip grasps. Conversely, if the proximal links are stopped by contact with an object, the distal links start flexing, creating a stable enveloping grasp. The route of the active tendon and the parameters of the springs providing passive extension forces are optimized in order to achieve this behavior. An additional passive tendon is disclosed that may be used as a constraint preventing the gripper from entering undesirable parts of the joint workspace. A method for optimizing the dimensions of the links in order to achieve enveloping grasps of a large range of objects is disclosed and applied to a set of common household objects.
Abstract: A sensor system includes a pump, a valve supplied from the pump, a sensor fixed relative to the pump, a nozzle supplied from the valve and aimed at the sensor, and a computer communicatively coupled to the pump, the valve, and the sensor. The computer is programmed to instruct the pump to operate; while the pump is operating, instruct the valve to close; receive data from the sensor while the pump is operating and the valve is instructed to be closed; and set a flag upon determining, based on the data received from the sensor, that the nozzle is outputting fluid onto the sensor.

Abstract: A technique for processing patient-specific image data for computer assisted surgical navigation. A database is provided including multiple first data sets of two- or three-dimensional image data. Each first data set is representative of first shape data or first biometric data of a skin surface of at least one patient. The method further comprises obtaining, by an optical camera system, a second data set of two- or three-dimensional image data of a skin surface of a particular patient and deriving second shape data or second biometric data of the skin surface from the second data set. By comparing the second shape data or second biometric data with the first shape data or the first biometric data of one or more first data sets, a similarity score is calculated. A signal generated based on the similarity score triggers one of selection and de-selection of a first data set.

Abstract: According to some embodiments, a load cell for determining a weight of a large object comprises a base plate comprising at least one recessed opening, a bulk metallic glass plug disposed in the at least one recessed opening of the base plate, and a top plate positioned above the base plate. A portion of the top plate is supported by the bulk metallic glass plug. The load cell further comprises a micro strain sensor coupled to the bulk metallic glass plug. The micro strain sensor is operable to determine a change in micro strain on the bulk metallic glass plug. The bulk metallic glass plug extends to a height where the top plate does not contact the base plate.
