Abstract: Described is a system for producing a causal map from a body of text. The system receives multiple textual documents as input. Pairs of cause-effect phrases are extracted from the textual documents and embedded into a vector space. The embedded data is clustered into clusters using a probabilistic technique. A causal map having nodes and edges is generated from the clusters. Using the causal map, causal connections between clusters are obtained, where each node represents an event and each edge represents a causal relationship between events. The causal map is provided as an interactive graph.

Abstract: A method, computer program, and computer system is provided for coding a video sequence. Video data comprising one or more luma samples is received. A YUV format associated with the received video data is determined. A height setting value and a width setting value corresponding to the one or more luma samples are restricted based on the determined YUV format. Abstract: A continuous variable planetary (CVP) system includes a CVP hub, which includes a shift mechanism including a shift driver element, and a processing server system to calibrate the CVP system and detect errors within the CVP system. The processing server system performs continuously monitoring or obtaining a transmission speed ratio of the CVP hub. Upon detecting that the transmission speed ratio reaches a particular value, the processing server system records a corresponding position of the shift driver. The processing server system calibrates the CVP system based on the particular value, the corresponding position, and a known relationship between transmission speed ratios and positions of the shift mechanism. The processing server system determines or verifies a full underdrive (FUD) position by iteratively reducing a transmission speed ratio from the particular value until an onset of a backlash condition is detected and determines or verifies a full overdrive (FOD) position.

Abstract: Described herein is a system for 3D proton imaging encompassing both proton radiography (pRad) and proton CT (pCT). The disclosed system can reduce range uncertainties, while providing a fast and efficient check of patient set up and integrated range along a beam's eye view just before treatment. The disclosed system provides a complete solution to the range inaccuracy problem in proton therapy, substantially reducing the uncertainties of treatment planning by directly measuring relative stopping power without being affected by image artifacts and with much lower dose to the patient than comparable x-ray images. Also described herein is a proton imaging algorithm for prompt iterative 3D pCT image reconstruction, where each iteration is fast and efficient, and the number of iterations is minimized. The method offers a unique solution that optimally fits different protons and does not depend on the starting point for the first iteration.

Abstract: For a non-volatile memory that uses hard bit and soft bit data in error correction operations, to reduce the amount of soft bit data that needs to be transferred from a memory to the controller and improve memory system performance, the soft bit data can be compressed before transfer. After the soft bit data is read and stored into the internal data latches associated with the sense amplifiers, it is compressed within these internal data latches. The compressed soft bit data can then be transferred to the transfer data latches of a cache buffer, where the compressed soft bit data can be consolidated and transferred out over an input-output interface. Within the input-output interface, the compressed data can be reshuffled to put into logical user data order if needed.
Abstract: A thermostat and system and method for use of the same are disclosed. In one embodiment, multiple wireless transceivers are located within a housing, which also interconnectively includes a processor and memory. To improve convenience, the thermostat may establish a pairing with a proximate wireless-enabled interactive programmable device having a display. Virtual remote control functionality for various amenities may then be provided. To improve safety, the thermostat may be incorporated into a geolocation and safety network.

Abstract: A base station antenna includes first and second arrays that include respective pluralities of first and second radiating elements arranged along the longitudinal direction of the base station antenna, the second array transversely adjacent the first array. A longitudinal position of each second radiating element is staggered from that of the corresponding first radiating element. The first array comprises first and second sub-arrays, each of which comprises one or a plurality of adjacent first radiating elements. A phase center of the combination of the first and second subarrays is basically aligned with a sub-phase center of the second array.
Abstract: An integrated magnetic catch used to hold a horizontal hinged oven door open at a selected set partially open position. A pin is used to hold the two plates together and acts as a pivot point. Attached to a stationary plate is a bracket that houses a magnet. This bracket is formed having a preset angle that correlates with the degree that the door is to be opened. When the rotating hinge makes contact with the bracket, the magnetic force holds the door open at a selected angle.
Abstract: A base station central unit (CU) sends, to a base station distributed unit (DU), a request message for a context configuration of a wireless device, wherein the request message comprises one or more identifiers of closed access groups that the wireless device is allowed to access; and a field indicating that the wireless device is only allowed to access a cell that is associated with at least one closed access group. The base station CU receives from the base station DU, an acknowledge message comprising cell configuration parameters of one or more cells for the context configuration of the wireless device, wherein the one or more cells are associated with at least one first closed access group.
Abstract: Innovations in the area of prediction of block vector (“BV”) values improve encoding or decoding of blocks using intra block copy (“BC”) prediction. For example, some of the innovations relate to use of a default BV predictor with a non-zero value. Other innovations relate to use of a selected one of multiple BV predictor candidates for a current block. Still other innovations relate to use of a skip mode in which a current intra-BC-predicted block uses a predicted BV value.
