Abstract: Qubit devices require fast operation, long coherence, and large scalability to be viable for implementation in quantum computing systems. A qubit platform device having long coherence, scalability, and fast operation includes a substrate, or trap region, configured to structurally support solid neon thereon. A trap electrode is configured to provide a trap voltage to the trap region and which creates a confining electrical field to a confining region adjacent to the trap region. The confining region being a region of space to confine an electron therein, confining the electron against the solid neon. First and second sets of guard electrodes are configured to provide variable electric potentials to first and second guard regions to allow for trapping and manipulation of a single electron in the confining region.

Abstract: A ride system includes one or more sensors and a controller. The controller receives, from the one or more sensors, position data indicative of the position of a body and/or face of guest on the ride. Using the position data, the one or more controllers, determine a face direction, face rotation, or both of the guest, independent of sensor observations of the face direction and rotation. One or more features of the ride are controlled based upon the determined face direction and/or face rotation.

Abstract: A user-to-entity communication channel is established for providing increased information regarding entities to the general population. Ambassadors for a entity are identified and selected based on location history of devices for which location reporting is authorized. The ambassadors may provide information regarding the entity to the public through the communication channel. Communications between the users and ambassadors may be reported to the entity owner for analysis by the entity owner.

Abstract: A planar fin for use in a heat sink includes turbulent structures extending from the sides of the planar fin. Each turbulent structure defines a longitudinal axis and having a first edge that is parallel to the longitudinal axis and connected to a planar surface of the fin. Each turbulent structure also includes a second edge opposite the first edged and in free space. The second edge defines a periphery that varies in distance from the first edge along the length of the longitudinal axis. The periphery of each second edge is further shaped such that turbulent flow of a fluid is induced in the flow flowing over the second edge at at least a predefined flow rate.

Abstract: Provided herein are compositions and methods for the cryopreservation of immune cells, such as peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) by pre-treating the cells with a PTD-MYC fusion protein (e.g., an HIV TAT-MYC fusion protein) prior to freezing. Kits for practicing the methods are also provided herein.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to methods and devices for controlling arthropods, including insects and arachnids in an environment. The methods generally comprise: generating a near-ideal gas Purified Hydrogen Peroxide Gas (PHPG) that is substantially non-hydrated (e.g., in the form of water in solution or water in solution or water molecules bonded by covalence, van der Waals forces, or London forces) and substantially free of, e.g., ozone, plasma species, and/or organic species; and directing the gas comprising primarily PHPG into the environment such that the PHPG acts to control arachnids in the environment. In certain aspects, the arachnids may be totally or partially killed.

Abstract: A method of removing contaminants from a solution comprises passing a solution including one or more contaminants through a first cell comprising a first anode chamber and a first cathode chamber, passing a slurry comprising a flowing electrode material through the first anode chamber and the first cathode chamber while applying an electric potential between the first anode chamber and the first cathode chamber to transport anions from the solution to the first anode chamber and to transport cations from the solution to the first cathode chamber, the flowing electrode material comprising a MXene material, wherein M is a metal and X is one or both of carbon and nitrogen, and passing the slurry through a second cell to desorb the anions and cations from the flowing electrode material. Related systems for removing contaminants from a solution, and related methods are disclosed.

Abstract: A combined water aeration and filtration unit (WAFU), having a tank with a vent section at a top of said WAFU and above an aeration section above a filtration section at a bottom of said WAFU. The vent section has one or more demisters and one or more vents for detraining water and providing a dry air exit from said WAFU. The air section has a water inlet ending in a spray nozzle near the top of the aeration section to turn incoming dirty water into water droplets and a forced air blower on a side or top of the aeration section for blowing air through said water droplets in rate sufficient to remove volatile organic compounds and precipitate manganese and iron. The aeration section also has one or more annular rings or partially annular baffles on an inside wall of the tank to force water from said inside wall into an interior of the tank. Thus, no water escapes aeration.

Abstract: The disclosed technology is generally directed to a personalized feed. In one example of the technology, selected key-value pairs from a profile associated with a user are provided. Based on a prompt that includes natural-language text instructions, the selected key-value pairs, and ranked content, a large language model is used to generate: pill prompts associated with the ranked content, such that the pill prompts are information requests that are unique and personalized to have particular relevance to the user based on selected key-value pairs, and a response to each pill prompt such that the response includes content corresponding to the requested information. A content feed is displayed to the user, including displaying selectable pills to the user as part of the displayed content feed such that each selectable pill includes a corresponding pill prompt. The response to the pill prompt that corresponds to the selection is displayed to the user.

A housing incorporates a plurality of illuminating elements configured in a strip extending substantially the length thereof and communicating with a processor also integrated into the body and incorporating a motion control circuitry. A forward facing translucent or transparent cover which is mounted over the front face of the housing. A power supply operating the processor and illuminating elements and, in response to a travel condition of the vehicle, the motion control circuitry outputs a signal to the processor which is representative of the vehicle movement, the processor in turn signaling the illuminating elements to generate a visual output corresponding to the signal.

Abstract: The disclosed system may include a sensor mounting bracket that has various mounting points for different sensors. The sensor mounting bracket may include a center portion and multiple different branches extending from the center portion. The system may also include a printed circuit board that includes antenna feed components. At least one of the branches of the sensor mounting bracket may be modified to form a specific type of antenna. The antenna feed components may be electrically connected to the antenna. Various other mobile electronic devices, apparatuses, and virtual reality headsets are also disclosed.

Abstract: A system for determining an order of electronic components in a downhole string includes a plurality of electronic components connected in series by a conductor and forming a series of electronic components, the plurality of electronic components including a master electronic component. For each electronic component in the series of electronic components, the controller is configured to detect a power direction, where the power direction is an uphole power direction when power from the power supply is received at an uphole side of the electronic component, and is a downhole power direction when power is received at a downhole side of the electronic component. The controller is configured to send a message through the conductor including an indicator indicating the power direction, and the master electronic component is configured to receive the message and determine an order of electronic components in the series of electronic components based on the indicator.

Abstract: Various embodiments set forth eye tracking systems. In some embodiments, an eye tracking system includes a polarization volume hologram (PVH) combiner having a rolling k-vector design that provides relatively wide coverage of users whose eyeglasses prescriptions can vary. The PVH combiner can further include (1) fiducial regions created by differential patterning that generate dark regions in images captured of an eye, and/or (2) multiple regions that diffract light at angles to produce different perspectives in the captured images. The dark regions and/or different perspectives can be used to calibrate eye tracking. In addition, the PVH combiner can include off-axis lens regions that generate glints for the eye tracking.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatuses for device routing management are disclosed. A client device of a wireless network may roam from a first access point to a second access point of the wireless network. The second access point, or the client device itself, may send a network message indicating the client device is currently being served by the second access point. The message may cause a network mapping stored at the first access point and/or at each device associated with the wireless network to be updated to indicate the client device is associated with the second access point, thereby enabling proper routing of network traffic to the client device via the second access point.

Abstract: An acoustic customization system to enhance a user's audio environment. One type of enhancement would allow a user to wear headphones and specify what ambient audio and source audio will be transmitted to the headphones. Added enhancements may include the display of an image representing the location of one or more audio sources referenced to a user, an audio source, or other location and/or the ability to select one or more of the sources and to record audio in the direction of the selected source(s). The system may take advantage of an ability to identify the location of an acoustic source or a directionally discriminating acoustic sensor, track an acoustic source, isolate acoustic signals based on location, source and/or nature of the acoustic signal, and identify an acoustic source. In addition, ultrasound may be serve as an acoustic source and communication medium.

Abstract: A method including, in a training phase, training a gaze prediction model including a first model and a second model, the first model and the second model being configured in conjunction to predict segmentation data based on training data, training a third model together with the first model and the second model, the third model being configured to predict a training characteristic using an output of the first model based on the training data, and in an operational phase, receiving operational data and predicting an operational characteristic using the trained first model and the trained third model.
