  • Patent number: 11902519
Abstract: A method of partitioning a video coding block for JVET, comprising representing a JVET coding tree unit as a root node in a quadtree plus binary tree (QTBT) structure that can have a quadtree branching from the root node and binary trees branching from each of the quadtree's leaf nodes using asymmetric binary partitioning to split a coding unit represented by a quadtree leaf node into two child nodes of unequal size, representing the two child nodes as leaf nodes in a binary tree branching from the quadtree leaf node and coding the child nodes represented by leaf nodes of the binary tree with JVET, wherein weighted angular coding unit prediction is employed and wherein post-coding unit prediction filtering can be avoided or unbiased to increase coding times.

  • Patent number: 11902091
Abstract: A change in the emotional state of a user of a device is detected, and in response to this change a reason for the change in user emotional state is determined. This determination is made based on both the current user emotional state and context data for the device or user. The device then adapts to the user based on the current emotional state and the reason for the change in user emotional state. This adaptation of the computing device refers to an alteration of the operation of the computing device with a goal of increasing the likelihood of the user being in a good emotional state (e.g., happy, relaxed) and reducing the likelihood of the user being in a bad emotional state (e.g., sad, angry).

  • Patent number: 11900712
Abstract: A fingerprint image capture system comprises an electro-optical material which captures a static fingerprint image and an apparatus for converting the static fingerprint image into an electronic signal. The image capture system includes an electrode for contacting a finger, and a bias supply for creating an electric field where epidermal ridges contact the electro-optical material. A transistor array senses charge or optical density variations in the electro-optical material to create an electronic representation of the fingerprint image. An initialization electrode places the electro-optical material into a uniform condition prior to acquisition of the fingerprint image. A physical artifact of the fingerprint image can be archived by removing the electro-optical material from the system following the fingerprint image acquisition.

  • Patent number: 11902849
Abstract: A cable communications network provides an alternative communications path between a user equipment device and a data network to a cellular path for a communications session with a desired level of Quality of Service. A cable modem termination system, coupled to a wireless core network, e.g., a 5G core network, interacts with the wireless core network to attempt to establish a PDU session for a UE with a desired QoS level. The core sends a QoS service request message to the CMTS including a requested level of QoS, an IP address and port number for the session. The CMTS and cable modem, corresponding to the UE, negotiate and decide if the request desired QoS level can be supported over the cable between the CMTS and the cable mode for the session.

  • Patent number: 11902305
Abstract: Method and systems for detecting and mitigating a malicious bot. Threat information is obtained, the threat information identifying one or more indicators of compromise (IOC) corresponding to suspected or known malicious network traffic. A control list (CL) corresponding to the threat information is generated, the CL describing rules for identifying network flows to be logged in a network log. The network log identifying the network flows is obtained and a suspect network flow identified by both the threat information and the network log is identified. An address corresponding to the suspect network flow is identified and the address is correlated with a user identifier. A notification is issued to a user associated with the user identifier, the notification indicating a suspected existence of a malicious bot.

  • Patent number: 11900200
Abstract: Dual-mode RFID devices are provided with an integrated dual-mode RFID strap including either a UHF/HF dual-mode RFID chip or the combination of a UHF RFID chip and an HF RFID chip. An HF antenna and a UHF antenna are both coupled to the integrated dual-mode RFID strap, with the UHF antenna being formed by an approach other than etching, such as a cutting or printing operation, thereby reducing the cost to manufacture the device. If a pair of chips is employed, one of the chips may have a greater thickness than the other chip, which allows for the thicker chip to be incorporated into the device after the thinner chip without requiring a minimum separation between the two chips due to the size of a thermode used to secure the chips. Additionally, the first chip may be tested before securing the second chip, thereby limiting the cost of a rejected device.
