Abstract: An artificial-reality device for audio playback is provided. The artificial-reality device includes: (i) a head-mounted display including at least one lens, and (ii) one or more transducers, coupled to the head-mounted display. The transducers are configured to generate signals that vibrate the at least one lens of the head-mounted display. The at least one lens generates acoustic waves that correspond to media presented by the head-mounted display when vibrated by the one or more transducers. Characteristics of the signals generated by the one or more transducers cause the acoustic waves generated by the at least one lens to be directed towards at least one ear of a user of the artificial reality device. Values of the characteristics for the signals are determined based on: (i) the media presented by the head-mounted display and (ii) characteristics of the at least one lens.

  • Patent number: 11899633
Abstract: From among physical storage devices (PSDs) of a storage system, a set of two or more of the PSDs that are eligible for scrubbing may be determined; and from among the set, a relative eligibility of the PSDs may be determined. Conformance prediction analysis may be applied to determine the set and the relative eligibility of PSDs of the set. The conformance prediction analysis may determine a scrubbing eligibility classification (e.g., label), and a confidence value for the classification, which may serve as the relative eligibility of the PSD. The eligible PSDs may be ranked in an order according to determined confidence values, and may be further classified according to such order. The future workload of the storage system may be forecasted, and the scrubbing of PSDs may be scheduled based on the forecasted workload of the system and the relative eligibilities of the set of PSDs.

  • Patent number: 11898103
Abstract: Systems and processes for removing sulfur compounds from a hydrocarbon stream. Sulfur compounds are extracted from a hydrocarbon feed stream with a caustic stream to provide a treated hydrocarbon stream and a rich caustic stream. The sulfur compounds in the rich caustic stream are oxidized in the presence of a catalyst to provide a lean caustic stream. The lean caustic stream is returned to extract sulfur from the hydrocarbon stream. Data such as a concentration of sulfurs species and degree of caustic saturation with the sulfur species in the rich caustic stream may be provided by a sensor, compared against other real-time or historical data and used to provide a recommended adjustment to process conditions associated with an extraction unit, or an oxidation unit, or both.

  • Patent number: 11899654
Abstract: An optimistic byzantine agreement protocol (the protocol) first tries to reach agreement via an efficient deterministic algorithm (synchronous protocol) that relies on synchrony for termination. If an agreement is not reached (e.g., due to asynchrony), the protocol uses a randomized asynchronous algorithm (asynchronous protocol) for fallback. Although randomized asynchronous algorithms are considered to be costly, the rationale here is to bound communication in non-synchronous runs after an equivalent cost has already paid.

  • Patent number: 11900080
Abstract: Some embodiments determine automatically which synthesized or otherwise autocreated suggestions for source code editing are presented to developers. Some filter out autocreated coding suggestions that have not been sufficiently endorsed by a developer's team, based on a suggestion trust score. The trust score may reflect the suggestion's adoption in a particular repository or codebase, or affiliation of the suggestion with a library release, or an actual or implied review of the suggestion by team members. Some suggestion filters enhance existing development team code review practices, by offering endorsed suggestions in autocompletion or analysis interfaces of tools and by withholding non-endorsed suggestions from display. Context illustrating the autocreated suggestion's provenance may be displayed to help developers decide whether to adopt the suggestion themselves while editing code.

  • Patent number: 11900224
Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, for generating training data for training a machine learning model to perform trajectory prediction. One of the methods includes: obtaining a training input, the training input including (i) data characterizing an agent in an environment as of a first time and (ii) data characterizing a candidate trajectory of the agent in the environment for a first time period that is after the first time. A long-term label for the candidate trajectory that indicates whether the agent actually followed the candidate trajectory for the first time period is determined. A short-term label for the candidate trajectory that indicates whether the agent intended to follow the candidate trajectory is determined. A ground-truth probability for the candidate trajectory is determined. The training input is associated with the ground-truth probability for the candidate trajectory in the training data.

  • Patent number: 11900357
Abstract: An EMV enabled terminal may communicate transaction related information to a user via a standard user interface of the terminal, for example, within a user interface displayed on a display screen of the terminal. The transaction related information may be spoken out loud to the user by the terminal. However, users with visual, audio, or other physical impairments may be unable to access the display of the terminal, view the displayed information, or hear the spoken information. Systems and methods disclosed herein communicate transaction related information via an alternate user interface. Instead of relying on the standard user interface related communications, information about the status of a transaction or transaction related information may be determined based on monitoring and evaluating the communications between an EMV secure element of a dynamic transaction card and the terminal via a contact connection.
