Abstract: In one example, a computing device includes one or more user input detection components, and one or more processors configured to receive an indication of a first user input detected by the one or more user input detection components, responsive to receiving the indication of the first user input, adjust a level of an attention buffer at a defined rate; responsive to determining that the level of the attention buffer satisfies a first threshold, prevent further interaction with a user interface of the computing device, responsive to determining that an indication of a second user input has not been received within a time period, adjust a level of the attention buffer, and responsive to determining that the level of the attention buffer satisfies a second threshold, allow further interaction with the user interface.

Abstract: A support apparatus having a base to support a support member which, in turn, supports a structure (e.g., a building joist, overhead structure, combinations thereof). The support apparatus may be used to provide reinforcement between a floor (e.g., ground, substrate, or the like) and the structure. The base of the support apparatus is in the form of a generally planar circular base, but may have any shape. The base may include one or more platforms, recesses, or ribs in order to provide structural support to the base and/or locations for one or more fastener apertures. The one or more fastener apertures are configured to receive one or more fasteners for operatively coupling the base to the floor in order to resist movement of the base during installation and/or use of the support apparatus.

Abstract: Embodiments described herein enable a browser to display content of a web page that is incompatible therewith. When such a page is to be traversed, the first browser causes a virtual machine that executes an instance of a second browser with which the page is compatible to be instantiated. The browsers communicate via communication channels utilized to share information therebetween. For instance, the first browser provides a URL of the page to the second browser for traversal thereby. Graphics information corresponding to the page is provided to the first browser. The first browser generates an image corresponding to the page based on the graphics information and renders the image in a tab of the first browser. This enables a visual experience for the user where it appears that the page is being rendered by the first browser when it is in fact being rendered by the second browser.

Abstract: A method for dynamically modifying an image during a printing process. The method includes executing a digitized pre-process wherein a submitted image is prepared to be a printable image, identifying what marking options are to be applied to the printable image, and executing a real-time feed operation wherein the printable image is modified based on the marking options and applied to a printed article.

Abstract: A material handler comprises a motor, an interface device, and a controller. The controller is configured to receive an input from the interface device and can include a variable frequency drive (VFD). The controller provides a variable frequency drive (VFD) signal to the motor to control movement of one or more components of the material handler. If the interface device is inactive for a predetermined amount of time, the controller adjusts a frequency of the VFD signal from an operating frequency to a standby frequency with the standby frequency being lower than the operating frequency. Adjusting the frequency from the operating frequency to the standby frequency can include adjusting the frequency of the VFD signal to one or more intermediate frequencies. When adjusting the frequency of the VFD signal, the controller can skip at least one frequency or range of frequencies, for example, to avoid undesirable operating characteristics.

Abstract: This disclosure is directed to an improved ballistic concrete mixture which is operable to be cast in many forms such as blocks. The improved ballistic concrete mixture provides an effective barrier for stopping projectiles with a kinetic energy of between about 1.0 kJ (750 foot-pounds) and 20.3 kJ (15,000 foot-pounds) in between about 3 inches and 10 inches such as a fifty-caliber round. The improved ballistic concrete mixture is useful in the erecting of new structures which need ballistics protection or for retrofitting existing structures with ballistics protection.

Abstract: A machine knittable hybrid yarn for providing conductive traces through a textile is disclosed. The hybrid yarn includes conductive wires coated with an insulating material and twisted together with a nonconductive yarn. The nonconductive yarn is from a strong, inelastic, and nonconductive fiber, such as a meta-aramid or para-aramid that protects the integrity of the conductive wire during knitting. The conductive wire can be copper-clad stainless steel or copper wire is coated with polyurethane, and the nonconductive yarn can have no-drip and no-drip properties to allow ablation of the hybrid yarn to remove the conductive yarn and insulating coating on the wire such that the ablated region becomes externally conductive and suitable for making an electrical contact. The hybrid yarn can be bonded with nylon or similar polymer after twisting.

Abstract: A system for conditioning stucco particulate material includes a vessel having separation chamber in communication with a holding chamber having a holding volume therein. The conditioning system includes the holding volume sufficient to condition the stucco particulate material therein and/or a control system configured to delay discharge of the stucco particulate material from the holding chamber. The system for conditioning stucco particulate material is configured to increase residence time of the stucco particulate material in the holding chamber to promote calcining conditioning therein.

Abstract: This present invention relates to compositions and methods of microbial enhanced oil recovery using Bacillus subtilis strains. The invention also relates to compositions and methods for performing oil degradation with Bacillus subtilis strains. The compositions and methods of the present invention are also used for enhanced commercial biosurfactant and enzyme production.

Abstract: Different logical partitions representing parts of a distributed file system global namespace are hosted on some cluster nodes, e.g., metadata nodes. File content and shadow logical partitions corresponding to the different logical partitions are hosted on other nodes, e.g., data nodes. Each file is associated with a metadata and data node. TCP links are established between nodes. Upon opening files, a file manager server session is generated between each pair of nodes associated with the open files to track open states and is recorded in a mapping table. The mapping table identifies each open file and associated nodes. When a metadata or data node of a particular pair of nodes associated with an open file becomes unavailable, the mapping table is consulted to identify another of the metadata or data node associated with the open file. Crash recovery protocols are performed on the other of the metadata or data node.

Abstract: Disclosed herein is a convertible tent hammock. The hammock may include side release buckles which allow the floor of the convertible tent hammock to be separated from the corners of the convertible tent hammock. Further, an exposed ridge pole provides a first structural connection to a support structure. The head and foot of the convertible tent hammock may be cinched together to provide a second structural connection to a support structure.

Abstract: A lid assembly is connected to a vessel to provide a leak proof seal to prevent leakage of liquid from the vessel. The lid assembly includes a base and a removably connectable lid. The base has an open first end, an open second end and a sidewall. The sidewall defines a passageway which extends between the first and second end of the base. A plurality of projections are provided on an internal surface of the sidewall. The base is removably connected to the vessel. The removably connectable lid of the lid assembly has a stopper configured to be inserted into the open second end of the base. The stopper is provided with a plurality of external projections corresponding to the plurality of projections of the base such that the base and lid are moved between a locked and unlocked position using approximate thirty degree (30°) turns, respectively.

Abstract: A seed planter for creating and planting together the combination of both seed and contents of a seed growing environment. The seed planter includes, for example, a wheeled frame configured with at least one soil opener and at least one soil closer for planting a field. A seed growing environment aggregator assembly has at least one input opening for receiving a plantable portion of a seed growth medium and seed from the seed hopper and at least one discharge opening for discharging an aggregation of the plantable portion of the seed growth medium and seed to the at least one soil opener for planting a desired growing environment in the field.

Abstract: A technique of operating an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) adapted for a package delivery mission includes: powering distributed propulsion units during takeoff and landing segments of the package delivery mission and idling at least a portion of the distributed propulsion units while powering a pair of outboard propulsion units during a cruise segment of the package delivery mission. The distributed propulsion units are mounted below fixed wings of the UAV and have first propellers mounted fore of the fixed wings. The outboard propulsion units are each mounted to a corresponding one of the fixed wings outboard of the distributed propulsion units. The outboard propulsion units include outboard propellers having a larger diameter than the first propellers.

Abstract: A degassing chamber for an ozone solution system includes a cylindrical housing defining a cavity. A mixture of water and ozone gas is delivered to the cavity, the mixture containing excess ozone gas. A cylindrical float is positioned centrally within the cavity to rise in accordance with the mixture column within the cavity. A piston is connected to move in accordance with the float. When the mixture level rises above a threshold, the piston the piston moves upward and seals an ozone outlet. As a pressure of ozone gas in the degassing chamber increases, the float is forced downward causing the piston to open a channel to an upper ozone outlet through which excess ozone gas is released. After removal of excess ozone gas, a mixture of water and ozone gas is output from the degassing chamber which is suitable for use as a general purpose cleaner.

Abstract: A base station transmits, to a wireless device, a first configuration parameter indicating whether data of a logical channel is allowed to be transmitted using a configured grant of type 1 and a second configuration parameter indicating whether data of the logical channel is allowed to be transmitted using a configured grant of type 1 while in RRC inactive state. The base station may receive or not receive data of the logical channel from the wireless device via configured grants of type 1 while the wireless device is in RRC connected state and while the wireless device is in RRC inactive state based on the configuration parameters.

The techniques can include receiving a process definition graph having a plurality of task nodes that represent respective tasks to be performed by a respective robot of a plurality of robots, wherein each task node is associated with a location at which the task will be performed; generating, from the process definition graph, an initial modified process definition graph that adds constraints for respective swept volumes occupied by each task represented by the plurality of task nodes; and generating, from the initial modified process definition graph, a refined process definition graph, wherein the refined process definition graph includes respective motion plans for robots moving between tasks, wherein the motion plans define transitions that avoid the swept volumes occupied by each task represented by the plurality of task nodes.

A system can include a request component configured to receive, at a first network source, information identifying a second user that a first user has selected to send an invitation to connect with at the first network source, a context component configured to determine a context regarding selection of the second user by the first user, including where the first user found the information identifying the second user, and a generation component configured to generate an invitation that invites the second user to connect with the first user at the first network source. The invitation comprises first user identification information and context information identifying the context regarding the selection of the second user by the first user.
