Abstract: A perception and planning system includes a system frame and one or more cooling fans mounted on a first side of the system frame to generate an airflow flowing outwardly to remove at least a portion of the heat generated by the processors. The system further includes an air filtering module mounted on a second side of the system frame to filter the air flow flowing inwardly to remove durst or contaminated material from the airflow. The air filtering module includes an air filter, a mounting plate, and a cover plate. The mounting plate can be mounted on the second side of the system frame to receive the air filter. The mounting plate includes one or more magnets. The cover plate can be attached to the mounting plate by a magnetic force generated from the magnets to keep the air filter between the mounting plate and the cover plate.

Abstract: An improved clutch basket assembly is disclosed. The improved clutch basket assembly provides improved wear resistance at the interfaces between friction discs and a clutch basket housing while allowing an operator to have improved clutch lever control and modulation when manually engaging or disengaging the clutch system. The improved clutch basket assembly includes a generally cylindrical clutch basket having a sidewall, a closed first end and an open second end. A plurality of removable pins is attached to the sidewall. A plurality of frictions disks is mounted in said clutch basket. The friction disks each have a plurality of positioning tabs extending out from a periphery of each of the friction disks. The positioning tabs are configured for engagement with at least one adjacent removable pin removably attached to the sidewall.

Abstract: This application relates to apparatus and methods for automatically servicing item data requests in data management systems, such as in retail management systems. The apparatus and methods employ a throttling technique to service data requests from one or more entities. In some examples, a computing device initializes assigns a counter for each entity, and initializes each counter with an initial value. The computing device also occasionally (e.g., periodically) resets each counter to the initial value. The computing device may receive a data request from one of the entities, and determines whether the counter corresponding to the entity identifies a count that is beyond a threshold. If the counter identifies a count beyond the threshold, the computing device adjusts the counter, and processes the data request. If the counter does not identify a count beyond the threshold, the computing device responds to the entity with an error.

Abstract: In an example, a urine collection device includes a covering defining a recessed receptacle and a fluid collection assembly positioned in the recessed receptacle. The fluid collection assembly includes (i) a foam sleeve including a bore, (ii) a shape retaining element positioned in the bore of the foam sleeve and defining a passage, and (iii) a tube extending through the passage defined by the shape retaining element. The shape retaining element can conform the fluid collection assembly to a curved configuration and maintain the curved configuration of the fluid collection assembly until the curved configuration is adjusted. The urine collection further includes a top sheet coupled to the covering. The top sheet and the covering define an internal chamber of the urine collection device. Abstract: A method for finding an optimum trailer gain, comprising: applying trailer brake pulses to a trailer while a vehicle is coasting using a trailer brake of a trailer, wherein the trailer is coupled to the vehicle; monitoring an average deceleration of the vehicle and the trailer brake gain of the trailer brake pulses applied to the trailer while the vehicle is coasting; generating a graph of the average deceleration of the vehicle versus the trailer brake gain, wherein the graph includes a curve that illustrates a relationship between the average deceleration of the vehicle and the trailer brake gain of the trailer brake pulses applied to the trailer while the vehicle is coasting; and finding a bend point of the curve in the graph to determine an optimum trailer brake gain.

Abstract: Methods, systems, devices, and computer-readable storage media for activity detection of a user of a computing device, using multi-modal sensing. A device can be configured to receive sensor data corresponding to multiple modalities and process the sensor data to predict an activity performed by a user of a computing device. The device in response to the detected activity can perform a response action, such as muting or pausing audio playback from the computing device. Different modalities can be combined, such as body vibration data, air vibration data, and image data, which can be processed to distinguish user activity, e.g., speaking versus not speaking, to allow the computing device to perform the correct corresponding action.

Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure are directed to creating interactive avatars that can be pinned as world-locked artificial reality content. Once pinned, an avatar can interact with the environment according to contextual queues and rules, without active control by the avatar owner. An interactive avatar system can configure the avatar with action rules, visual elements, and settings based on user selections. Once an avatar is configured and pinned to a location by an avatar owner, when other XR devices are at that location, a central system can provide the avatar (with its configurations) to the other XR device. This allows a user of that other XR device to discover and interact with the avatar according to the configurations established by the avatar owner.

Abstract: A computer-implemented method includes receiving, by a computing device, a particular textual description of a scene. The method also includes applying a neural network for text-to-image generation to generate an output image rendition of the scene, the neural network having been trained to cause two image renditions associated with a same textual description to attract each other and two image renditions associated with different textual descriptions to repel each other based on mutual information between a plurality of corresponding pairs, wherein the plurality of corresponding pairs comprise an image-to-image pair and a text-to-image pair. The method further includes predicting the output image rendition of the scene.

Abstract: Systems and methods for providing variable trick-play mode playback of media content in accordance with embodiments of the invention are disclosed. A playback device stores images of the media content associated with presentation times and marker information for the media content that indicates the presentation time of moments of interest. When a trick-play mode is invoked, the playback device determines a presentation time of a next marker in the playback. The playback device determines whether the current presentation time of the playback is within a specified range of the presentation time of the next marker and adjusts the speed of the trick-play playback based on the determination. The next frame to present is determined based on the adjusted speed of the trick-play playback and displayed.

Abstract: Systems and method are provided for controlling a vehicle. In one embodiment, a method includes: receiving, by a controller onboard the vehicle, lidar data from the lidar device; receiving, by the controller, image data from the camera device; computing, by the controller, an edge map based on the lidar data; computing, by the controller, an inverse distance transformation (IDT) edge map based on the image data; aligning, by the controller, points of the IDT edge map with points of the lidar edge map to determine extrinsic parameters; storing, by the controller, extrinsic parameters as calibrations in a data storage device; and controlling, by the controller, the vehicle based on the stored calibrations.

Abstract: A power module can include a casing mounted to a baseplate that contains a substrate with circuitry. The circuitry can include pins for coupling signals to/from the circuitry. These pins can extend through a cover portion of the casing so that an electronic substrate, such as a printed circuit board (PCB) can be press-fit onto the pins. When press-fit, the electronic substrate is supported and positioned by support pillars that extend from the base plate to above the cover portion of the casing. If the pins and the support pillars have different coefficients of thermal expansion, damage to connection points between the pins and the circuitry may occur. Here, a power module is disclosed that has thermally matched pins and support pillars so that when the system is thermally cycled over a range of temperatures, the connection points are not damaged by forces induced by thermal expansion.
