Abstract: A robust cleaning and ventilation system for a workstation such as an office workspace, employing table geometry to create high efficiency air exchange while providing a conditioned make-up air return that completes the full ventilation process. The workstation includes a modular implementation such that the necessary equipment is not a single custom bespoke installation and can be used universally.
Abstract: Vehicle systems and methods are provided for preheating an aftertreatment system prior to engine ignition. A method involves obtaining a first measurement indicative of a current temperature associated with the aftertreatment system, obtaining a second measurement indicative of a current state of an energy source coupled to a heating element integrated with the aftertreatment system, determining an amount of electrical energy to be applied to the heating element based at least in part on a difference between the current temperature associated with the aftertreatment system and a target temperature for the aftertreatment system, and automatically enabling current flow from the energy source to the heating element prior to ignition of the engine for a duration of time in a manner that is influenced by the amount of electrical energy to be applied to the heating element and the current state of the energy source.
Abstract: A system for observing a flow characteristic of a fluid is provided. The system comprises a nadir-facing sensor, an angle flow sensor, and processing circuitry. The nadir-facing sensor and the angle flow sensor are both provided at a distance above the fluid, and the nadir-facing sensor and the angle flow sensor are both Multiple-Input Multiple-Output phase radar sensors. The processing circuitry is configured to receive sensor data from the nadir-facing sensor and the angle flow sensor, the sensor data includes at least one of a fluid speed or a fluid surface level, and the processing circuitry is configured to determine the flow characteristic based upon the sensor data.
Abstract: Decentralized computer systems and methods are disclosed for efficient transaction dispute management using blockchain. One method includes: receiving transaction information of a transaction, wherein the transaction information includes (1) an identifier of an issuer of a payment source account, (2) an identifier of an acquirer of a payment account of a merchant, and (3) the amount of resources to be applied in the transaction; generating a blockchain entry that stores the received transaction information in a shared ledger to participants of the blockchain; receiving in the shared ledger, from a participant, (1) an indication of a dispute of the transaction information, and (2) a proposed change to the transaction information; prompting the participants of the blockchain to respond to the indication of the dispute; if one of the participants denies the proposed change, executing a dispute settlement process to determine a revised transaction information.
Abstract: Methods and apparatus for a detector system having a photodetector and an amplifier to amplify the photodetector signal. A discriminator generates an active output signal when the output from the amplifier is greater than a threshold. An injection circuit is coupled to the input of the amplifier. The injection circuit is configured to selectively inject a test pulse that mimics a pulse from the photodetector for verifying operation of the detector system.
Abstract: An automated method is provided for enabling and implementing a beacon-based service location application in a user device having a beacon monitoring application. A service location facilitation server establishes service need criteria for a user of the user device and estimates a service need state for the user. The service need state includes information indicative of a relative need for a desired service. The service location facilitation server then determines whether the service need state meets the service need criteria, and, if so, transmits an instruction to the user device to transition the beacon monitoring application from an inactive state to an active monitoring state.

Abstract: Among other things, requests are received from voice assistant devices expressed in accordance with different corresponding protocols of one or more voice assistant frameworks. Each of the requests represents a voiced input by a user to the corresponding voice assistant device. The received requests are re-expressed in accordance with a common request protocol. Based on the received requests, responses to the requests are expressed in accordance with a common response protocol. Each of the responses is re-expressed according to a protocol of the framework with respect to which the corresponding request was expressed. The responses are sent to the voice assistant devices for presentation to the users.

Abstract: In a wireless communication network, an Edge Enablement Client (EEC) in a UE Gateway (GW) exchanges EDGE-5 signaling with a user app and exchanges EDGE-1 signaling with a Gateway Enablement Server (GES) in the GW. The GES exchanges EDGE-9 signaling with an Edge Enablement Server (EES) in an Edge Data Network (EDN) and exchanges EDGE-3 signaling with a Gateway Application Server (GAS) in the GW. The GAS exchanges user data between the user app and an Edge Application Server (EAS) in the EDN responsive to the EDGE-3 signaling. The EES exchanges additional EDGE-3 signaling with the EAS. The EAS exchanges the user data between the GAS and a network core responsive to the additional EDGE-3 signaling. The core exchanges the user with the AS and transfers network information for the exchange to a Distributed Ledger (DL) node. The DL node determines trust based on the network information.
