Abstract: Example techniques and systems may obtain one or more search types associated with a geographic location of a computing device. In one example, a technique may include determining, by a mobile computing device, a geographic location of the mobile computing device and obtaining one or more search types associated with the geographic location. Responsive to obtaining the one or more search types, the technique may also include outputting, by the mobile computing device and for display, a graphical user interface comprising at least an indication of the one or more search types associated with the geographic location.

Abstract: A method for forming a battery assembly including: a) stacking a plurality of battery plates to form a plurality of electrochemical cells, and b) welding about an exterior periphery of the plurality of battery plates to form one or more integrated edge seals such that one or more individual battery plates are bonded to one or more adjacent battery plates. The one or more individual battery plates may include one or more projections extending from the exterior periphery of the individual battery plate toward the adjacent one or more battery plates; and wherein upon stacking, the one or more projections of the one or more individual battery plates overlap about an exterior of the one or more adjacent battery plates. The integrated edge seal may be formed by one or more projections bonding to the one or more adjacent battery plates.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides a transgenic corn comprising event MON87403 that exhibits increased grain yield. The disclosure also provides cells, plant parts, seeds, plants, commodity products related to the event, and DNA molecules that are unique to the event and were created by the insertion of transgenic DNA into the genome of a corn plant. The disclosure further provides methods for detecting the presence of said corn event nucleotide sequences in a sample, probes and primers for use in detecting nucleotide sequences that are diagnostic for the presence of said corn event.

Abstract: A method for execution by a marketplace server begins by receiving an indication of an intention to utilize an exchange item to support a purchase transaction associated with a computing device, where the exchange item is associated with an exchange item rule set. The method continues by determining one or more exchange items associated with the computing device and determining purchase requirements of the purchase transaction. The method continues by identifying alternative exchange items to potentially support the purchase transaction based on the purchase requirements, the one or more exchange items, and the exchange item rule set. The method continues generating a list of exchange item utilization solutions to support the purchase transaction. The method continues by the marketplace server sending the list of exchange item utilization solutions to the computing device.

Abstract: Provided are methods for maintaining calibration of an IBIS camera, which can include receiving a first initial extrinsic calibration of a first camera having a first sensor; determining a first translation of the first sensor based on a second position thereof when the first camera captures a first image; determining a first extrinsic translation shift based at least upon the first translation; and updating the first initial extrinsic calibration to yield a first modified extrinsic calibration for the first camera. Systems and computer program products are also provided.

Abstract: In one embodiment, an apparatus includes an insert for an evaporator coil. The insert is a curved wire located within the evaporator coil. The insert for the evaporator coil reduces refrigerant charge in the evaporator coil and causes refrigerant flowing through the evaporator coil to change direction.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on a computer storage medium, for generating an output sequence from an input sequence. One of the methods includes, at each of a plurality of generation time steps: generating a combined sequence for the generation time step that includes the input sequence followed by the output tokens that have already been generated as of the generation time step; processing the combined sequence using a self-attention decoder neural network to generate a time step output that defines a score distribution over a set of possible output tokens; and selecting, using the time step output, an output token from the set of possible output tokens as the next output token in the output sequence.

The system includes forward osmosis container having a semipermeable membrane dividing the forward osmosis chamber into a first chamber and a second chamber, a draw solution water removal unit including a quantity of draw solution solvent and water, wherein the draw solution solvent includes a nonaqueous liquid and a condenser configured to receive either water vapor or draw solution solvent vapor from the draw solution water removal unit and provide condensed draw solution solvent to the second chamber. The second chamber provides a water diluted draw solution solvent to the draw solution water removal unit. The first chamber takes in received water including a dissolved solute at an input mass per unit of volume and provides a fluid output having an output mass per unit of volume greater than the input mass per unit of volume.

The application interface may receive user requests to specify a foreign geographical area and to enable and disable the foreign transaction service in the foreign geographical area. The method may also include receiving, through the application interface, a request to enable the foreign transaction service. The method may include associating a transaction rule with the payment account. The transaction rule may define a condition upon which approval of a foreign transaction is permitted. The method may also include receiving a foreign transaction authorization request associated with the payment account. The method may also include approving the foreign transaction authorization request when the condition is met and declining the foreign transaction authorization request when the condition is not met.

Abstract: A respiratory assembly is provided. The assembly includes at least one post having a nasal engaging portion on about a first end thereof for delivering treatment gases to the nasal cavity of a patient. A pair of tubes capable of receiving gas from a hose or fluid source are selectively engaged with the pair of posts for delivering treatment gases from the inlet through the receptacle and into the nasal cavity of the patient. A splitter may be positioned between the hose or fluid source and the pair of tubes. Ball and socket joints may provide enhanced flexibility of the assembly while in use.

The device includes one or more light emitting elements positioned within a cavity inside the outer shell and that emit beams at a non-zero angle with respect to a longitudinal axis of the electric lighting device to provide illumination from within the cavity in an upward direction and reaching above the top surface after passing through the opening. An optical element is positioned to receive light from the one or more light emitting elements and to direct the received light toward the top surface. The optical element has a focal point to change one or both of a size and direction of the light received prior to projecting the light in the direction of the top surface.

Abstract: A riflescope having a display that provides information to a user of the riflescope, along with related methods, is provided herein. In one embodiment, a riflescope includes an objective system and an ocular system, wherein a focal plane is defined between the objective system and the ocular system. A display system, comprising a display and a mirror, is positioned at a location between the focal plane and the ocular system. In one embodiment, the distance between the focal plane and the ocular system is equal to a sum of a distance between the display and the mirror and a distance between the mirror and the ocular system.

Abstract: A system for observing a flow characteristic of a fluid is provided. The system comprises a nadir-facing sensor, an angle flow sensor, and processing circuitry. The nadir-facing sensor and the angle flow sensor are both provided at a distance above the fluid, and the nadir-facing sensor and the angle flow sensor are both Multiple-Input Multiple-Output phase radar sensors. The processing circuitry is configured to receive sensor data from the nadir-facing sensor and the angle flow sensor, the sensor data includes at least one of a fluid speed or a fluid surface level, and the processing circuitry is configured to determine the flow characteristic based upon the sensor data.

Abstract: According to at least one embodiment, a method for writing, by a computing thread, data to a ring buffer is disclosed. The method includes determining whether the ring buffer is full. If the ring buffer is not full, the method further includes: reserving an element of the ring buffer for writing the data, wherein reserving the element includes incrementing a size variable corresponding to a number of stored elements in the ring buffer; reserving a portion of the ring buffer at which the data is to be written; and determining whether a state of the portion of the ring buffer is in change by at least one other computing thread. If the state is not in change, the method further includes: marking the state of the portion of the ring buffer as being in change by the computing thread; and writing the data to the portion of the ring buffer.

Abstract: The techniques disclosed herein enable systems to centralize access to various digital items irrespective of the location of those digital items. To achieve this, items that are stored at their original location, e.g., within a cloud storage platform, can be selected by a user for storage at a centralized location such as a favorites section. These items are selected using an interface control which can be an operating system component of an item keeping system that is accessible in any context or application. The item keeping system can generate an item alias for selected items which is then stored in the centralized location. In addition, item aliases can be moved to various destinations by the user to enable customized item storage for items of varying types, origin, and location. In addition, functionality of the interface control can be modified to suite selected items.

Abstract: A computer-implemented method includes determining a vehicle configuration indicative of a towing mode setting for the vehicle, which can include a neutral transmission gear setting, a battery conservation mode, or another towing mode setting. The method can include determining at least one vehicle operation characteristic that changes with time while the vehicle is in the towing mode setting, and performing, via a vehicle control module and based at least in part on the towing mode setting and the vehicle operation characteristic, one or more vehicle actions that include generating an alert signal indicative that vehicle damage may occur.

Abstract: Decentralized computer systems and methods are disclosed for efficient transaction dispute management using blockchain. One method includes: receiving transaction information of a transaction, wherein the transaction information includes (1) an identifier of an issuer of a payment source account, (2) an identifier of an acquirer of a payment account of a merchant, and (3) the amount of resources to be applied in the transaction; generating a blockchain entry that stores the received transaction information in a shared ledger to participants of the blockchain; receiving in the shared ledger, from a participant, (1) an indication of a dispute of the transaction information, and (2) a proposed change to the transaction information; prompting the participants of the blockchain to respond to the indication of the dispute; if one of the participants denies the proposed change, executing a dispute settlement process to determine a revised transaction information.
