Abstract: According to examples, a system may use gaze direction information to perform tone mapping or chromatic adaptation for virtual reality (VR) environments. Abstract: Embodiments herein disclose a system for visually displaying information related to a fluid level in an above-ground storage tank, which may be enhanced to visually indicate the performance of selected tank sub-system(s). The sensor is in communication with a fluid indicator that provides a visual indication of a tank-level via a plurality of lights arranged proximate to an exterior surface of the above-ground storage tank. Abstract: Provided herein are examples of a remote control device that provides a retrofit solution for an existing switched control system. The remote control device may comprise a control circuit, a rotatable portion, a magnetic ring coupled to the rotatable portion, and first and second Hall-effect sensor circuits configured to generate respective first and second sensor control signals in response to magnetic fields generated by the magnetic elements. The control circuit may operate in a normal mode when the rotatable portion is being rotated, and in a reduced-power mode when the rotatable portion is not being rotated. The control circuit may disable the second Hall-effect sensor circuit in the reduced-power mode. The control circuit may detect movement of the rotatable portion in response to the first sensor control signal in the reduced-power mode and enable the second Hall-effect sensor circuit in response to detecting movement of the rotatable portion.

Abstract: A flat-surfaced, electrically controlled, tunable lens to provide autofocus, optical zoom, optical image stabilization, and similar functionalities is described. A thickness profile of the tunable lens may be modified through a voltage-controlled thin film piezo actuator, for example, a lead-zirconium-titanium oxide (PZT) film. For autofocus and optical zoom features, an entire thickness of the tunable lens may be modified with the thickness being the same across a cross-section area of the tunable lens and opposing surfaces of the tunable lens remaining flat. For optical image stabilization, the thickness profile of the tunable lens may be modified to a tilted profile, where one side of the tunable lens is thinner than the other side with the opposing surfaces of the tunable lens remaining flat. The tilted profile may have an angle between the two plates (surfaces) in a range up to 10 degrees.

The cleaning element comprises a variable pressure region shaped and configured to increase the hydrodynamic fluid friction force and fluid pressure force of a cleaner or detergent against the wall of the internal lumen of the endoscope to more effectively clean all internal surfaces of an endoscopic instrument, including crevasses, scratches or other irregularities, without further damaging these surfaces.

Abstract: There is disclosed a method of improving the reliability of coating an implantable medical device, such as a stent, with bioactive material in the absence of a carrier material such as a matrix or polymer layer. The method involves cleaning volatile components from the exposed surfaces of the medical device, removing carbon deposits and then applying a uniform carbon layer in a controlled environment. The deliberately applied carbon layer masks impurities of the underlying native oxide layer and leads to more uniform bioactive material coating not only a over the surfaces of a single medical device but also from device to device within a batch and between batches of devices. This improves production as well as optimising the amount and release of drug on the medical device without the need for a carrier material.
