Abstract: A crossbow is configured to shoot a projectile. The crossbow includes a frame having a stock positioned at a rear end, the frame defining a horizontal projectile plane at a top side in which a projectile axis is positioned. The projectile moves within the horizontal projectile plane and along the projectile axis during firing and arming of the crossbow, and the projectile is fired from a front end of the frame. The crossbow further includes a drawstring hub connectable to ends of a drawstring. Rotation of the drawstring hub in at least one direction is powered, such as by a force applied by flexed limbs. The crossbow further includes drawstring guides attached to the frame for guiding the drawstring across the projectile axis between the ends of the drawstring. The first and second drawstring guides each include a pulley wheel, wherein the drawstring is guided at least partially around each pulley wheel.

Abstract: Example apparatus disclosed herein include a watermark detector to detect watermarks in a media signal. Disclosed example apparatus also include a controller to operate the watermark detector to (1) detect a first watermark in the media signal, and (2) cycle between sleep intervals and active intervals based on a repetition rate of the watermarks in the media signal to perform a detection operation for a second watermark at a second location in the media signal relative to a first location of the first watermark in the media signal. In some examples, the controller is to search a buffer of prior detected watermark symbols to detect a third watermark at a third location prior to the second location in the media signal in response to the second watermark not being detected at the second location in the media signal.

The processing circuitry applies one or more first fixed filters with constant filter coefficients to samples in the picture to obtain one or more respective first filtered outputs of the samples in the picture. Subsequent to applying the one or more first fixed filters, the processing circuitry applies one or more second adaptive filters with changeable coefficients to the one or more first filtered outputs to obtain a second filtered sample of a current sample in the samples and decodes the picture based at least on the second filtered sample of the current sample in the picture. Each coefficient of the second adaptive filter can be applied to a corresponding one of the one or more first filtered outputs.

Abstract: The present disclosure describes systems and methods for dynamic synchronization of media streams from remote users. A latency matrix between all participants is generated and participants within acceptable synchronization windows are grouped together. Earlier media streams are buffered and started in synchronization with later streams locally at each client device. To provide an improved experience for earlier or lower-latency clients, additional media streams may be generated (e.g. synthesized, played back from recordings, or dynamically generated based on locally input media). Accordingly, each user is provided with a collaborative experience in substantial synchronization.

Abstract: Disclosed are techniques and amplifier stages that include wave division multiplexers, semiconductor optical amplifiers and wave division demultiplexers that amplify optical signals. An input optical signal having a first bandwidth is partitioned into a plurality of subband optical signals by thin film filters tuned to a selected bandwidth that is less than the first bandwidth. Each of the plurality of subband optical signals has a bandwidth that is a portion of the first bandwidth. Each subband optical signal is input into a semiconductor optical amplifier that is tuned to the respective portion of the first bandwidth that corresponds to the subband optical signal. The combination of the partitioned input optical signal and tuned semiconductor optical amplifiers provides improved optical signal transmission performance by reducing polarization dependent gain.
