Abstract: A system for ice removal and prevention of ice accumulation on semi-trailers and intermodal shipping container chassis systems includes a power supply, a semi-trailer having at least one surface; a plurality of heating elements mounted and spaced apart at regular intervals from one another on at least one surface of the semi-trailer, at least one temperature sensor, a temperature controller having at least one processor and memory having computer executable instructions which cause the system to allow a user to program a desired temperature of a surface of a semi-trailer; sense a temperature of a surface of the semi-trailer; heat the semi-trailer surface with the plurality of heating elements; and maintain a desired temperature of the a surface of the semi-trailer. The system may further include a plurality of heating elements attached to the frames of twist-locks for intermodal chassis systems.

Abstract: A hinge includes a hinge body, a self-close mechanism disposed within the hinge body, and a slow-close mechanism disposed within the hinge body. The hinge body has a first portion rotatable with respect to a second portion between an open position and a closed position. The self-close mechanism applies a closing force on the first portion from an opened angle of rotation between the first portion and the second portion to the closed position having a 0° angle of rotation between the first portion and the second portion. The closing force urges the first portion to the closed position. The slow-close mechanism applies a damping force on the first portion from the opened angle of rotation between the first portion and the second portion to the closed position. The damping force slows a rotational speed of the first portion to the closed position.

Abstract: A secondary containment system for a primary pipe system having primary pipes connected by a connection point having a valve. The secondary containment system having longitudinally divided first and second shells larger than and disposed around the connection point of the primary pipes. Each shell having longitudinally extended edges on opposite sides and arcuate openings at opposite ends. A sealing gasket is provided having arcuate end portions connected by longitudinally extending strips. A series of removable clamps is used for clamping the edges of the first and second shells together, with the sealing gasket being sandwiched between the two shells. A valve stem adapter extends through one of the shells and is configured to rotate the valve in the primary piping system.

Abstract: A vehicle enclosure system may include a top rail and a bottom rail coupled to a side of a vehicle. The vehicle enclosure system may also include a housing coupled to the side of the vehicle. The housing may include a covering coupled to at least one handle. The at least one handle may be configured to facilitate a movement of the covering by a user. The housing may include a roller configured to facilitate the movement and storage of the covering. The vehicle enclosure system may include a rear cover assembly coupled to the housing and the covering. The covering may enclose an interior of the vehicle and extend the rear cover assembly simultaneously when the covering is moved to a deployed position. The covering may expose the interior of the vehicle and store the rear cover assembly simultaneously when the covering is moved to a storage position.

Abstract: A shredder for minimizing aggregation of whole batteries can include a shaft defining a longitudinal axis and a latitudinal axis. The shredder can include a plurality of teeth disposed on knives which fit on said shaft at an angle to the latitudinal axis selected from 0 degrees and 45 degrees. The teeth can have a first proximal end integrally molded to the shaft and a second free distal end.

Abstract: Methods and computing devices for estimating a force F exerted on a touchpad are disclosed. In one example, a method comprises determining that the touchpad is not being touched. At least on condition of determining that the touchpad is not being touched, a no-touch capacitance value of the PCB is calculated. After calculating the no-touch capacitance value, the method includes determining that the touchpad is being touched. At least on condition that the touchpad is being touched, the no-touch capacitance value and a touch-based capacitance value are used to estimate the force F exerted on the touchpad.

Abstract: A method of writing data to a transparent substrate comprises forming a first voxel by focusing a first laser pulse on a first location in a transparent substrate; and forming a second voxel by focusing a second laser pulse on a second location in the transparent substrate. The first laser pulse and the second laser pulse have different amplitudes, resulting in the first and second voxels having different strengths. Also provided are a system useful for implementing the method; an optical data storage medium obtainable by the method; and a method of reading data from the optical data storage medium.

Abstract: A battery pack includes a first header having a first conduit and a second header having a second conduit. The battery pack also includes an energy storage system having energy storage cells arranged between the first header and the second header. A coolant plate assembly is arranged between the first header and the second header and abuts the plurality of energy storage cells. The coolant plate assembly includes a coolant channel having a first end fluidically connected to the first conduit, a second end fluidically connected to the second conduit, and an intermediate portion defining a flow path. The coolant plate assembly also includes a first planar section having a first surface facing the energy storage cells and a second surface having protrusions extending into the coolant channel.

Abstract: A factory processed and assembled optical fiber arrangement is configured to pass through tight, tortuous spaces when routed to a demarcation point. A connector housing attaches to the optical fiber arrangement at the demarcation point (or after leaving the tight, tortuous spaces) to form a connectorized end of the optical fiber. A fiber tip is protected before leaving the factory until connection is desired.

Abstract: A power system including a gate driver configured with test circuitry to detect faults is disclosed. The power system may be configured to test the fault detection circuitry in order to confirm its ability to detect faults. Various methods and circuit implementations are disclosed to determine the ability of the system to detect faults. The testing may include different configurations and protocols in order to make conclusions about which components are likely responsible for a failure. These components may include components included in the gate driver or externally coupled to the gate driver. The disclose approach does not significantly add complexity because a test input to initiate a test may be communicated from a low voltage side to a high voltage side over a shared communication channel.

Abstract: Liquid pharmaceutical compositions of apixaban or pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof are described. More specifically, stable oral liquid pharmaceutical compositions of apixaban for oral administration are provided, wherein the composition is stable for extended periods of time. More specifically, stable liquid pharmaceutical compositions of apixaban at concentrations of 0.4 mg/mL or more are provided. Stable oral liquid compositions of apixaban, methods for their administration, processes for their production, and use of these compositions for treatment of diseases treatable by apixaban are disclosed.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides methods and compositions comprising hyaluronic acid (HA) hydrogel in combination with a saturated fatty acid for treating osteoarthritis. In some embodiments, aspects of the disclosure relate to pharmaceutical compositions comprising HA hydrogel in combination with a steroid. In some embodiments, the pharmaceutical compositions may be administrable via local, topical, and injection. In some embodiments, the pharmaceutical composition may be administrable by intra-articular injection.

Abstract: A vehicle device for cargo space of a vehicle includes a container configured to be arranged behind a rear bench seat in an installed state and having an access on the vehicle cab side. A headrest is mounted on the rear bench seat displaceably between an upper position and a lower position. The container and the headrest are arranged on a common axis that is configured to be oriented parallel to a longitudinal axis of the vehicle in the upper position of the headrest. A pivotable lid is designed to open and close the container. The opening of the container is free in the lower position of the headrest.

Abstract: An apparatus is provided that includes a trailer mounting bracket configured to be mounted onto a trailer, and a bending member carried by the trailer mounting bracket. The bending member has a unitary section that is at least 3 millimeters in length in a lateral direction and is made of plastic, or rubber, or combinations of plastic and rubber. The bending member is also longer in length in a vertical direction than in the lateral direction and longitudinal directions. The bending member is configured for being deflected from an at rest position upon the application of force thereon, and can return to this position when the force is removed. Also, the bending member is configured for attachment to a skirt of a trailer.

Abstract: A speargun and speargun components are disclosed allowing for rapid reloading of the spear, and retaining the spear in the gun with an open track and retention mechanism. A spear retention mechanism is also disclosed, which may be integral with the speargun or interchangeable for different size spears. A phospholuminescent sighting track on one or both sides of the top of the speargun is also disclosed whereby the illuminated portion of the speargun provides a visual sight for a spear once inserted into the track. An interchangeable system of speargun retention mechanisms is also provided.

The memory(ies) may store software instructions executable by the processor(s) to perform operations including obtaining a location of the drone(s) while the drone(s) is deployed, determining a ground attribute value of a ground surface associated with the location, deriving, based on the ground attribute value, a payload ratio of a first amount of the first payload relative to a second amount of the second payload, and causing the first and second payload bays to release the first amount of the first payload and the second amount of the second payload respectively according to the payload ratio.

The frame assembly can include a plurality of bearing plates to support one or more components of a crankshaft assembly. Adjacent bearing plates of the frame assembly can form receptacles to accommodate a portion of one or more components of a crosshead assembly. The bearing plates of the frame assembly can have one or more openings to receive one or more structural supports. The one or more structural supports can couple together the plurality of bearing plates. Some configurations have bearing plates with portions that extend beyond the receptacle formed by adjacent bearing plates. In such configurations a structural support can couple the bearing plates via openings on these extended portions.
