Abstract: Disclosed embodiments may include a system that may receive, from a user device associated with a user, authentication rule(s), each authentication rule associated with respective merchant(s) and comprising respective required authentication factor(s) for completing a transaction with the respective merchant(s). The system may identify a user has navigated to a merchant webpage and may determine at least one rule of the authentication rule(s) associated with the merchant. The system may identify first required authentication factor(s) corresponding to the at least one rule, and may cause the user device to display, via a GUI, the first required authentication factor(s). The system may receive, via the user device, authentication information associated with the user. The system may determine whether the authentication information satisfies the first required authentication factor(s). Responsive to making that determination, the system may enable the user to complete a transaction via the merchant webpage.
Abstract: A bone marrow access apparatus includes a bone penetrating member having an internal channel having an opening at a proximal end and an opening at a distal end. A valve cap is engaged with the bone penetrating member, the valve cap defining an interior cavity in which part of the bone penetrating member is situated. The valve cap includes a valve having an opening having an open state in which the channel is not obstructed and a closed state to prevent flow of a material through the channel. The valve is repeatedly switchable between the open and closed states. The bone penetrating member has an upper surface and a seat which is below the upper surface, the seat being located at an interior of the bone penetrating member, and the seat being engageable with an installation or removal instrument.
Abstract: Disclosed herein are techniques for bonding LED components. According to certain embodiments, a first component is bonded to a second component using dielectric bonding and metal bonding. The first component includes an active light emitting layer between oppositely doped semiconductor layers. The second component includes a substrate having a different thermal expansion coefficient than the first component. First contacts of the first component are aligned to second contacts of the second component. A dielectric material of the first component is then bonded to a dielectric material of the second component. The metal bonding is performed between the first contacts and the second contacts, after the dielectric bonding, and using annealing. The bonded structure has a concave or convex shape before the metal bonding. Run-out between the first contacts and the second contacts is compensated through temperature-induced changes in a curvature of the bonded structure during the metal bonding.
Abstract: A method and system for data consistency across failure and recovery of infrastructure. In one embodiment of the method, copies of first data blocks stored in a source memory are sent to a target site via a data link. While sending one or more of the copies of the first data blocks to the target site, source hashes for second data blocks stored in the source memory are calculated, wherein the first data blocks are distinct from the second data blocks. While sending one or more of the copies of the first data blocks to the target site, target hashes of data blocks stored in a target memory of the target site are received. While sending one or more of the copies of the first data blocks to the target site, the source hashes are compared with the target hashes, respectively. After sending the first data blocks to the target site via the data link, copies of only those second data blocks are sent to the target site with source hashes that do not compare equally with respective target hashes.
Abstract: An ultraviolet (“UV”) emission device may emit energy towards a movable surface of a conveyor system, A housing of the UV emission device may attach to a frame of the conveyor system. A lateral edge of the housing may extend across the moveable surface. The housing and a portion of the moveable surface may be inclined with respect to the frame. A barrier bracket of the UV emission device may support an absorptive barrier along the lateral edge, the absorptive barrier configured to contact the moveable surface. In a first position of the barrier bracket, the absorptive barrier contacts the moveable surface and the barrier bracket activates an interlock switch. In a second position of the barrier bracket, the barrier bracket deactivates the interlock switch. Responsive to deactivation of the interlock switch, a controller may provide a control signal to decrease power to the UV energy emission element.

Abstract: A system provides feedback to a user to guide the user to point a part of the body at a target of interest. An angle sensor senses the angle in which the part of the user's body is pointing, such as the head or the hand. The system computes the angle to a target and compares to the angle in which the part of the user's body is pointing and the feedback indicates to the user how to point more closely to the direction of the target. Additional sensors allow the system to update the angle to the target as the position of the user changes. A walking sensor is disclosed to accurately measure the position of the user.
Abstract: An emergency medical services (EMS) visual light guidance aiding device is disclosed. The EMS visual light guidance aiding device is configured to aid EMS personnel in guidance to a specific location without maps, apps, or other conventional guidance mechanisms.

Abstract: The invention is an airborne infection control monitoring, condition data collection, testing and reporting system. The system includes new sensors and other equipment needed to collect HVAC data, the placement of the sensors in the HVAC system, software needed to retrieve the data, and the algorithms used in analyzing the data to the required building design specifications. The proposed method and system would collect current room condition data and apply it to a virtual ventilation, room and equipment structure to efficiently determine if the building's rooms meet the air balance and infection control requirements.

Abstract: Techniques for identifying sources of degradations within a PON include detecting a degradation pertaining to a segment of the PON and comparing the drift over time of an optical profile of the segment with respective drifts over time of optical profiles of one or more other PON segments, where pairs of segments share respective common endpoints and an optical profile of a segment corresponds to the characteristics of optical signals delivered over the segment (e.g., attenuation, changes in frequencies, changes in power outputs, etc.). The differences between the compared drift(s) over time are utilized to narrow down the candidate components (e.g., segment endpoints, optical fibers, etc.) for the source of the degradation, and may be utilized to particularly identify a particular endpoint or optical fiber as being the source. The source of the degradation may or may not be a component of the segment to which the degradation pertained.
Abstract: Methods, apparatus, systems, and articles of manufacture are disclosed to determine a duration of media presentation based on tuning session duration. Example apparatus a receiver to obtain a first tuning session duration indicative of an amount of time between channel changes of a first media presentation device at a first media presentation location, a presentation session estimator to select a model from storage, the model selected based on a match of the first tuning session duration and a second tuning session duration, the model including a relation between the second tuning session duration and a first presentation session duration of media presented on a second media presentation device at a second media presentation location, and estimate a second presentation session duration of media presented within the first tuning session duration based on the model.

Abstract: A method includes receiving a subscription request to obtain notifications of events pertaining to the data file that has been previously uploaded by a user account associated with a user device and stored at the cloud-based file system. The subscription request identifies a destination address for the notifications generated in accordance with the subscription request and one or more events, among multiple events, corresponding to the data file that are to prompt the notifications to be transmitted to the destination address associated with the networked device. The method includes determining that the subscription request is authorized, and identifying an occurrence of an event from the one or more events specified in the subscription request and involving the data file. The method includes transmitting to the destination address a notification indicating the occurrence of the event involving the data file.
