Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure are directed to a computation unit implementing a systolic array and configured for detecting errors while processing data on the systolic array. Checksum circuit in communication with a systolic array is configured to compute checksums and perform error detection while the systolic array processes input data. Instead of pre-generating checksums in input matrices, input matrices can be directly fed into the systolic array through the checksum circuit. On the output side, the checksum circuit can generate and compare checksums with checksums in an output matrix generated by the systolic array. Error checking the operations to generate the output matrix can be performed without delaying the operations of the systolic array, and without preprocessing the input matrices.

Abstract: A vehicle, a vehicle electronics power assembly, and a method for providing and cooling an inductor assembly are provided. The vehicle has provided with a vehicle electrical system with a variable voltage converter (VVC) and an inductor assembly with a core and a winding. A housing is provided with a first housing member and a second housing member. The first and second housing members cooperate to encapsulate the winding and at least a portion of the core of the inductor assembly. The first housing member defines a first inlet and a first outlet, and the second housing member defines a second inlet and a second outlet. A fluid system is connected to the first inlet, the second inlet, the first outlet, and the second outlet to provide pressurized fluid to the first and second inlets to circulate fluid through the housing.

Abstract: This application relates to ventilation systems, more particularly to roof ventilation systems that help to protect buildings against fires. The roof vent has an ember impedance structure that impedes the entry of flames and embers or other floating burning materials while still permitting sufficient air flow to adequately ventilate a building. Several configurations of vents employing baffle members and fire-resistant mesh material are described, which can substantially prevent the ingress of floating embers and flames.

Abstract: Apparatus and method for separating product containing pouches from a travelling web of adhered films carried on a film support surface includes a rotary blade drum assembly having blade configurations with blade portions arranged to form the entire perimeter edge of the flange of the pouch which rotate in synchronous registration with grooves in the film support surface. In one form, at least one blade portion and associated groove portion are non-linear and other than longitudinal or transverse to the film support surface of the forming drum or travelling web of films. The blade portions may be heated and the rotary blade drum assembly may include insulating guides for the pouches.

Abstract: The present disclosure is for an inverted diffuser usable in wellheads and other wellsite equipment. The inverted diffuser includes at least one first section having a first vertical inner surface, a first inclined inner surface relative to the first vertical inner surface, and one or more channels supporting one or more releasable fasteners between the at least one first section and a wall of a wellhead or of a wellsite equipment. At least one second section is press-fitted or fastened adjacent to the at least one first section. A method for application of the inverted diffuser in a wellhead and in other wellsite equipment is also disclosed, along with a method of manufacture of the inverted diffuser.

Abstract: An example embodiment may involve determining that a client device (such as a smartphone, tablet, or in-automobile audio device) is in an automobile and that the client device has access to a playlist of audio content. Possibly based on the client device being in the automobile and having access to the playlist of audio content, the client device may request a stream of the audio content. As a consequence of making the request, the client device may receive the stream of the audio content and begin audible playout of the audio content.

Abstract: Turbomachines such as air dynamometers are disclosed that include a radial outflow compressor and gas collector. In some examples, the gas collector is designed as a separate component that is coupled to the machine, such as coupled to a frame. In some examples, the collector and frame are intentionally spaced and coupled at discrete points to minimize the transfer of mechanical and thermal energy therebetween. Aspects of the present disclosure also include turbomachines that include at least one impeller bypass flow path for the direct transfer of air between ambient and a location in the collector downstream of the impeller blades. In some examples, such flowpath(s) may allow for the inflow of external ambient air into the collector.

Abstract: Uterine toner device (UTD) for reducing postpartum hemorrhage includes fundal, cervical, vaginal, and nipple portions with cylindrical and tubular shaped bodies. The fundal and cervical portions include fenestrations. The diameters for fenestrations in the fundal portion are larger than those in the cervical portion. An indication resides between the fundal and cervical portions for proper placement. When the nipple portion couples to a pressure pump's suction tube and negative pressure is applied, cervical tissue is drawn into the fenestrations in the cervical portion resulting in contraction and retraction of the uterus, stopping any bleeding. The pressure pump is automatically shut-off after a pre-set period of time to avoid prolonged ischemia. A balloon at the cervical portion assists in the release of the cervical tissue when inflated. During a C-section, an introducer may be used in combination with the UTD to assist in introducing the suction tube through a tight cervix.

Abstract: The disclosed technology provides techniques, systems, and apparatus for containing and recovering from uncorrectable memory errors in distributed computing environment. An aspect of the disclosed technology includes a hypervisor or virtual machine manager that receives signaling of an uncorrectable memory error detected by a host machine. The virtual machine manager then uses information received via the signaling to identify virtual memory addresses or memory pages associated with the corrupted memory element so as to allow for containment and recovery from the error.

An input manager determines a pair of non-zero values from a pair of data streams in a plurality of pairs of data streams and retrieve the pair of non-zero values from the pair of data streams. A multiplier performs a multiplication operation on the pair of non-zero values and generate a product of the pair of non-zero values. An accumulator manager receives the product of the pair of non-zero values from the multiplier and sends the product of the pair of non-zero values to a corresponding accumulator in a plurality of accumulators.

Abstract: The technology relates to route planning and performing driving operations in autonomous vehicles, such as cargo trucks, articulating buses, as well as other vehicles. A detailed kinematic model of the vehicle in evaluated in conjunction with roadgraph and other information to determine whether a route or driving operation is feasible for the vehicle. This can include evaluating a hierarchical set of driving rules and whether current driving conditions impact any of the rules. Driving trajectories and cost can be evaluated when pre-planning a route for the vehicle to follow. This can include determining an ideal trajectory for the vehicle to take a particular driving action. Pre-planned routes may be shared with a fleet of vehicles, and can be modified based on information obtained by different vehicles of the fleet.
