    Abstract: Aspects of the technology relate to propulsion systems for high altitude, long duration balloons, such as balloons that operate in the stratosphere for weeks, months or longer. A propeller assembly is used to provide lateral directional adjustments, which allows the balloon to spend more time over a desired region, reduce the return time to the desired region, reduce fleet overprovisioning, and increases the safety case by additional controls and avoidance abilities. A control assembly manages operation of the propeller assembly, including setting the pointing direction, speed of rotation and determining when to turn on the propeller and for how long. The propulsion system including the control and propeller assemblies is rotatable around a connection member of the balloon. Such rotation is independently adjustable from any rotation of the balloon's payload. The propeller blades may be made of plastic, which reduces weight and cost while providing sufficient speed at stratospheric altitudes.

The device includes a grip member, a push member (which causes the medication to be injected), and a force-transfer mechanism that couples the grip member to the push member. Suitably, the device is configured to be held transverse to the palm of the medication-administering hand, with a discharge port located by the outer, blade edge of the administering hand, when the device is being gripped to administer medication.

Flavor descriptors are selected from database for the particular product and presented pairwise in all possible pair combinations to each of a plurality of tasters via user-devices. For each flavor descriptor pair, users select one of the descriptors which is perceived to be more intense than the other. The results of the selections are captured at host and mapped by normalizing means as intensity values into a flavor descriptor space in database to create a quantized flavor profile. Normalizing means performs a weighting on each descriptor selection result. Filtering means detects anomalous or inconsistent selection responses and issues adaptive control instructions.

The delivered male pollen is in such amounts and fortuitously timed that it preferentially pollinates the females. Such fortuitous timing may involve the intentional application of pollen to females a day or two prior to female parent pollen becoming viable, and/or during several periods wherein female parent pollen and/or other proximal plant pollen is not being shed.

This is used to generate more accurate behavior predictions, which the vehicle can use to take alternative (e.g., corrective) driving actions.

A frame may include a plurality of partitions, where each partition includes a corresponding set of OFDM symbols. For each partition, the OFDM symbols in that partition may have a corresponding cyclic prefix size and a corresponding FFT size, allowing different partitions to be targeted for different collections of user devices, e.g., user devices having different expected values of maximum delay spread and/or different ranges of mobility. The base station may also dynamically re-configure the sample rate of each frame, allowing further resolution in control of subcarrier spacing. By allowing the cyclic prefixes of different OFDM symbols to have different lengths, it is feasible to construct a frame that confirms to a set payload duration and has arbitrary values of cyclic prefix size per partition and FFT size per partition. The partitions may be multiplexed in time and/or frequency.
