Abstract: A perception system includes a perception module configured to capture first sensor data that includes data from at least one of an external sensor and a camera captured in a first period, a prediction module configured to receive the first sensor data, generate, based on the first sensor data, predicted sensor data for a second period subsequent to the first period, receive second sensor data for the second period, and output results of a comparison between the predicted sensor data and the second sensor data, and a diagnostic module configured to selectively identify a fault in the perception system based on the results of the comparison.

Abstract: Display device ON/OFF detection methods and apparatus are disclosed. Example display activity detectors disclosed herein are to extract regions from respective ones of captured video frames, the regions corresponding to a depiction of a display of a monitored media device Disclosed example display activity detectors are also to compute a distance metric that is to represent an amount a first one of the regions of a first one of the captured video frames differs from a corresponding second one of the regions of a second one of the captured video frames. Disclosed example display activity detectors are further to compare the distance metric to a threshold to determine whether the monitored media device is ON or OFF.

Abstract: Aqueous well treatment fluids especially suited for use in far field diversion in low viscosity carrier fluids comprise water, a friction reducer, and a diverter. The diverter comprises dissolvable particulates and proppants. The dissolvable particulates have a specific gravity of from about 0.9 to about 1.6 and a particle size of about 50 mesh or less. The proppants have a specific gravity of from about 0.9 to about 1.4 and a particle size of from about 20 to about 100 mesh. The dissolvable particulates have a higher specific gravity and a smaller particle size than the proppant.

The radial compression band includes an elongated arm band that presents an arm opening sized to receive the arm. The arm band presents proximal and distal margins, with the arm opening being defined between the margins.

Abstract: Technologies are provided for dynamic delivery of travel planning information based at least on a travel condition. The travel planning information can be crowdsourced from multiple supplier accounts and can be retained in a distributed storage platform. Some embodiments of the technologies include a computing system that can receive data identifying travel conditions of a subject from a mobile user equipment (UE). The travel conditions can include a health condition and/or biometric data. The mobile UE can be a portable computing device or a vehicle. The computing system can determine that a rule to provide travel planning information is satisfied, and then can acquire specific travel planning information using at least one of the travel conditions. The computing system can provide the first travel planning information to the mobile UE.

Abstract: A personnel location and monitoring system enables on-scene commanders in austere environments to identify, location and manage personnel. The present invention establishes a localized network of geolocation-capable transceivers which can thereafter provide communication capabilities with specially-equipped users as they ingress and egress an austere environment. Each user is equipped with an Individual Geospatial Locational Unit which provides data via a datalink with one or more of the anchors, and ultimately with a base station. From such data and the datalink itself the location of the user as well as the user's biomedical condition can be ascertained. As confidence of the location of the user drops below a predetermined threshold and/or the biomedical condition of the user raises concern with respect to the user's well-being, the present invention modifies the communication and geolocation protocols to prioritize communication and data transfer with such a user.

Abstract: According to some embodiments, a system for desalination of a liquid comprises at least one primary treatment process, at least one secondary treatment process, wherein the at least one secondary treatment process comprises at least one reactor, and at least one tertiary treatment process, wherein the at least one primary treatment process is configured to adjust a pH of the liquid to target pH level and to add at least one chemical additive to the liquid, wherein the at least one reactor is configured to heat the liquid to a temperature of at least 350° F. and to supply a pressure to the liquid to maintain the liquid in a liquid state, and wherein the dissolved salt of the liquid is configured to react with at least a portion of the at least one chemical additive to form an insoluble product within the at least one reactor.

Abstract: The technology relates to an integrated circuit (IC) package. The IC package may include a packaging substrate, an IC die, and an integrated voltage regulator die. The IC die may include a metal layer and a silicon layer. The metal layer may be connected to the packaging substrate. The integrated voltage regulator die may be positioned adjacent to the silicon layer and connected to the packaging substrate via one or more through mold vias or through dielectric vias. The IC die may be an application specific integrated circuit (ASIC) die.

Abstract: Push buttons utilizing dome switches are often preloaded to take up any tolerances in the push button design causing a gap and provide consistent tactile feedback to a user. However, conventional push button preload techniques can be costly and difficult to consistently reproduce during push button manufacturing. A new pre-load design does not require pre-depression of the dome switch to close the gap, which permits a more forgiving tolerance to manufacturing variations.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, for reducing a likelihood that a doorbell might be used. One of the methods includes determining that a visitor arrived at a premises; determining that the visitor used a computing device at a first time; determining that a user device of a person of the premises received a message at a second time; determining that the first time and the second time both satisfy a timing criteria; and in response to determining that the first time and the second time both satisfy the timing criteria, sending, to the user device, a notification that indicates that the visitor arrived at the premises.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for creating printed tags for use in connection with a heated food item placed into a hot holding unit. System components may include a user interface, a printer, and a controller. The controller is programmed to instruct the user interface to display a prompt for an operator to input information identifying one or more characteristics of a food item positioned within or to be placed into a hot holding unit. The controller receives the information from the user interface and instructs the printer to generate a tag identifying the food item and the time at which the food item is to be removed from the hot holding unit and discarded. The tag may include a display area to display the printed information and a support area with a slit that allows the tag to be supported by a rack of the hot holding unit.

The tray handling system having a tray conveying system, a tray transfer system, and optionally a tray storage region. The tote handling system may have a cubby array, the cubby array having a plurality of cubbies into which a tote may be placed. An example apparatus includes communication interface circuitry to obtain metering data, the metering data including a first metadata tag extracted from media at a time corresponding to a media event associated with the media, the metering data omitting second metadata tags extracted from the media by a media monitor, the second metadata tags identified for omission based on a temporal proximity of the second metadata tags to the media event, the first and second metadata tags extracted from the media when the media is presented; memory; instructions included in the apparatus; and processor circuitry to execute the instructions to determine a first exposure of an audience to the media based on the metering data, the first exposure being the same as a second exposure determined based on an analysis of the first metadata tags.

Abstract: Virtual and augmented reality sports training environments are disclosed. A user interacts with virtual players in a simulated environment of a virtual reality sporting event. In some embodiments, the user's actions and decisions are monitored by the simulated environment. The environment evaluates the user's performance, and provides performance feedback based on the user's decisions and timing. In one application, real life pitchers and their pitching data are tracked and replicated in a simulated pitching environment. A team of users may practice against a simulation of a pitcher they are about to compete against, swinging at pitches that they would see in a real game. Such environments may maximize effective practice time for users, and help develop better players with improved decision-making skills. Some embodiments include various pitch recognition training, which may be against replicated real-life pitchers.

The system may create sharing session data on a distributed ledger accessible by a number of systems. Sharing session data may be stored using a transaction stored on a distributed ledger. On verification of the sharing session, a variety of data may be shared between the systems identified in the sharing session data.
