Abstract: A microdisplay comprising a light emitting OLED stack on top of a silicon-based backplane with individually addressable pixels and control circuitry wherein the light emitting OLED stack has three or more OLED units between a top electrode and a bottom electrode; and the control circuitry of the silicon-based backplane comprises at least two transistors with their channels connected in series between an external power source VDD, and the bottom electrode of the OLED stack. The light-emitting OLED stack preferably has a Vth of at least 7.5V or more. The control circuit can include a protection circuit comprised of a p-n diode, preferably a bipolar junction transistor.

Abstract: Techniques for interactively determining/visualizing the color content of a source image and how the corresponding image data is mapped to device colors are described herein. For example, the color content of a digital image can be converted between different color spaces to identify gamut limitations of an output device (e.g., a printing assembly), discover color(s) that cannot be accurately reproduced, etc. Color space conversions enable the transformation of the color content of the digital image from device-specific colorants to a device-independent representation (and vice versa). In some embodiments, these transformations are facilitated using lookup tables that are implemented in graphical processing unit-resident memory.

Abstract: A material includes a metallic, nanoporous structure having a plurality of nanopores having a porosity that allows passage of insulin but not IgG. The metallic nanoporous structure includes titanium, 316L stainless steel and may have a textured nano-sericeous surface. A nanoporous bicontinuous structure can be integrated with nanopores.

Abstract: A bracket includes a first wing, a second wing and a bridge that connects the first wing to the second wing. The first wing has a first inner surface and a first outer surface. The second wing has a second inner surface and a second outer surface. The bridge extends from the first inner surface to the second inner surface thereby coupling the first wing to the second wing such that the first inner surface is normal to a first direction, and the first inner surface is parallel to the second inner surface. The bridge includes a front edge and a rear edge. The front edge forms a recess that extends into the bridge towards the rear edge along a second direction that is perpendicular to the first direction, and the recess terminates within the bridge prior to reaching the rear edge.

Abstract: Disclosed embodiments accelerate web form completion based on email address analytics. An email address can be input with respect to a web form and identified. The email address can be parsed into a username and a domain name and analyzed. A value of a web form field can be determined based on data extracted from the username, domain name, or both. The determined value can then be employed to automatically complete a corresponding web form field Values for additional fields can be computed based on the determined value alone or combined with data from other sources. User input and interaction with a web form can be monitored and used as a basis to dynamically complete additional fields, alter fields, or clear field values.

Abstract: A chain binder to connect and apply tension to chains, straps, or the like used to secure cargo on any type of platform or vehicle. The chain binder includes a lever body; a first side portion; a second side portion; and gears that effectuate two modes of operation. Namely, a power driven mode of operation or a manual lever mode of operation. Rotations of the gears causes hooks or connectors, via movement of eye-bolts, toward each other to place tension in the chains or strap. Opposite rotations of the gears causes hooks or connectors, via movement of eye-bolts, away from each other to relax the chains or strap. If components are damages during use, they may be replaced on an as-needed basis to reduce operational cost of the chain binder since the entire binder does not need replaced when only one component fails or is damaged.

Abstract: A method includes providing a neural network with metrics obtained from an execution of an application in a test environment to determine rule-related weights, scaling rule results with the rule-related weights to determine scaled rule results. The method also includes re-training the neural network with the rule results of the application, an indication that the executed application is selected for deployment in the production environment, and rule results of other applications in the test environment in response to a determination that the scaled rule results fail a threshold but that the application is selected for deployment in a production environment. The method also includes providing the re-trained neural network with the rule results to generate updated rule-related weights and scaling the rule results by the updated rule-related weights to determine updated scaled rule results.

Abstract: Techniques for providing natural language understanding (NLU) services to contact centers are disclosed herein. An example method includes receiving, at a cloud NLU connector, a data stream from a contact center that includes an audio stream, extracting the audio stream from the data stream, and transmitting the audio stream through a secure network to a cloud-based NLU hub. The cloud-based NLU hub is communicatively coupled to a plurality of cloud-based NLU service providers and stores a plurality of user NLU profiles that each designate one or more cloud-based NLU service providers to provide NLU services. The example method further includes determining one or more designated cloud-based NLU service providers to provide at least one NLU service corresponding to the audio stream, and causing the one or more designated cloud-based NLU service providers to process the audio stream in accordance with the at least one NLU service.

Abstract: A regenerative thermal oxidizer assembly includes a first housing member and a second housing member. The first housing member defines a regenerative portion and a combustion chamber. The second housing member defines an inlet chamber and an outlet chamber. A regenerator is disposed within the regenerative portion of the first housing member and defines a central axial opening extending to the combustion chamber. A thermal element extends through the axial opening to the combustion chamber for providing heat to the combustion chamber for initiating combustion inside the combustion chamber. The first housing member is rotatable around an axis defined by the axial opening relative to the second housing member for rotating the regenerator relative to the inlet chamber and the outlet chamber.

Abstract: Techniques of generating short answers for queries by a search engine include performing a training operation on a corpus of training data to train the score prediction engine, the corpus of training data including candidate passages providing short answers for display in callouts and remaining respective passages, from which a top scoring short answer is generated. In such implementations, the corpus of training data further includes the remaining respective passages and the respective titles of the candidate passage and remaining respective passages.

Abstract: A system for communicating a plurality of sensations from a first person perspective of an athlete to one or more observers may include a head attachment device having imbedded therein a computer connected to one or more cameras, one or more microphones, and a plurality of impact sensors. The cameras, microphones, and impact sensors may be powered by a battery also imbedded in the head attachment device. The system may also include a broadcast server which may include a wireless receiver in communication with the wireless transmitter of the computer, a processor receiving video, audio, and impact signals from the computer via a receiver. The system may also include an audio/visual display device in communication with the transmitter of the broadcast server. The audio/visual display device may include a processor which converts signals so that the audio, video, and impact signals may be perceived by observers.

Abstract: A system includes a gas turbine having a turbine shaft disposed along a rotational axis, a turbine casing disposed circumferentially about the turbine shaft, a combustion gas path disposed between the turbine shaft and the turbine casing, and a turbine stage disposed in the combustion gas path. The turbine stage includes a plurality of turbine vanes disposed upstream from a plurality of turbine blades. The gas turbine includes an isothermal expansion system coupled to the turbine stage, wherein the isothermal expansion system includes a plurality of flame stabilizers configured to vary axial positions of combustion within a turbine stage expansion of the turbine stage to reduce temperature variations over the turbine stage expansion. The flame stabilizers are disposed in different axial positions over an axial length between leading and trailing edges of the turbine blades, wherein at least one flame stabilizer is coupled to each of the turbine blades.

Abstract: The techniques disclosed herein enable systems to provide a streamlined user experience in file manager applications across diverse file contexts (e.g., local, cloud). This is accomplished by utilizing expanded folder previews that enable a user to view and interact with the contents of a folder without navigating into the folder itself. In various examples, an expanded folder preview is triggered by a user input within a user interface selecting a folder such as a hover gesture. Accordingly, the expanded folder preview displays some or all of the files and/or subfolders within the folder to enable contextual actions such as file uploads and transfers. In addition, the expanded folder preview can be customized based on the file context of the associated folder. For instance, a local folder preview can provide preview renderings of file content. In another example, a collaborative folder preview can identify other users with access to the file.

Abstract: Systems and methods taught herein enable simultaneous forward and side detection of light originating within a microfluidic channel disposed in a substrate. At least a portion of the microfluidic channel is located in the substrate relative to a first side surface of the substrate to enable simultaneous detection paths with respect to extinction (i.e., 0°) and side detection (i.e., 90°). The location of the microfluidic channel as taught herein enables a maximal half-angle for a ray of light passing from a center of the portion of the microfluidic channel through the first side surface to be in a range from 25 to 90 degrees in some embodiments. By placing at least the portion of the microfluidic channel proximate to the side surface of the substrate, a significantly greater proportion of light emitted or scattered from a particle within the microfluidic channel can be collected and imaged on a detector as compared to conventional particle processing chips.
