Abstract: Direct thermal recording media are designed to operate based on a thermally-induced change of state rather than a thermally-induced chemical reaction between a leuco dye and an acidic developer. The media use two types of solid scattering particles, one of which changes its state from solid to liquid during printing, and the other of which does not. The former particles, upon melting, fill spaces between the latter particles, thus eliminating or substantially reducing light scattering, which makes an underlying colorant visible at selected print locations where heat is locally applied. The media can provide high quality thermally-produced images at print speeds at least as high as 10 inches per second (ips).

Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, for bus computing systems, for example, for wrong stop loading/unloading. In one aspect, a method performed by a bus computing system for a bus includes: receiving, at a designated stop of a bus route of the bus, a student identifier (ID) from a student ID system when a student enters or exits the bus at the designated stop; determining whether the student is authorized to enter or exit the bus at the designated stop; and in response to determining that the student is not authorized to enter or exit the bus at the designated stop, alerting a driver of the bus, and presenting an override user interface element and/or a cancellation user interface element on the display for the driver to allow or refuse the student to enter or exit the bus at the designated stop.

Abstract: A method of stacking dethatchers includes pivoting an upper portion of a handle on a first dethatcher toward a front end of a frame on the first dethatcher, upon pivoting the upper portion of the handle toward the front end of the frame, exposing a rear support point defined by a lower portion of the handle, and stacking a second dethatcher on the first dethatcher so that the second dethatcher is supported on the rear support point defined by the lower portion of the handle and a front support point defined by the upper portion of the handle.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on a computer storage medium, for the selection, provision and display of one or more digital components during display of content. Methods can include identifying a plurality of digital components that can be presented on the client device. A maximum number of digital components that can be presented in a slot of a content and the time duration of the slot is determined. For each digital component a score is generated based on the duration, a position requirement and the number of times the digital component is available for provision within the slot is generated. A first set of digital component is selected based on the scores and provided to the client device.

Abstract: A method for generating tokens for use in an email-based e-commerce transaction between third party vendor and a customer that is facilitated by a payment server is disclosed. The method may comprise generating a token for use with an email checkout, wherein the token comprises a customer name, and customer email address. The processor may generate an email message for at least one recipient, the email message including a mailto hyperlink including the token, wherein the mailto hyperlink generates an email response message addressed to the payment server including the token. The method may comprise receiving a notification from the payment server indicating that the at least one recipient that the email response message was successfully received by the payment server and the email-based e-commerce transaction is successful.

Abstract: Disclosed embodiments accelerate web form completion based on email address analytics. An email address can be input with respect to a web form and identified. The email address can be parsed into a username and a domain name and analyzed. A value of a web form field can be determined based on data extracted from the username, domain name, or both. The determined value can then be employed to automatically complete a corresponding web form field Values for additional fields can be computed based on the determined value alone or combined with data from other sources. User input and interaction with a web form can be monitored and used as a basis to dynamically complete additional fields, alter fields, or clear field values.

Abstract: A system for communicating a plurality of sensations from a first person perspective of an athlete to one or more observers may include a head attachment device having imbedded therein a computer connected to one or more cameras, one or more microphones, and a plurality of impact sensors. The cameras, microphones, and impact sensors may be powered by a battery also imbedded in the head attachment device. The system may also include a broadcast server which may include a wireless receiver in communication with the wireless transmitter of the computer, a processor receiving video, audio, and impact signals from the computer via a receiver. The system may also include an audio/visual display device in communication with the transmitter of the broadcast server. The audio/visual display device may include a processor which converts signals so that the audio, video, and impact signals may be perceived by observers.

The turbine stage includes a plurality of turbine vanes disposed upstream from a plurality of turbine blades. The gas turbine includes an isothermal expansion system coupled to the turbine stage, wherein the isothermal expansion system includes a plurality of flame stabilizers configured to vary axial positions of combustion within a turbine stage expansion of the turbine stage to reduce temperature variations over the turbine stage expansion. The flame stabilizers are disposed in different axial positions over an axial length between leading and trailing edges of the turbine blades, wherein at least one flame stabilizer is coupled to each of the turbine blades.

Abstract: The techniques disclosed herein enable systems to provide a streamlined user experience in file manager applications across diverse file contexts (e.g., local, cloud). This is accomplished by utilizing expanded folder previews that enable a user to view and interact with the contents of a folder without navigating into the folder itself. In various examples, an expanded folder preview is triggered by a user input within a user interface selecting a folder such as a hover gesture. Accordingly, the expanded folder preview displays some or all of the files and/or subfolders within the folder to enable contextual actions such as file uploads and transfers. In addition, the expanded folder preview can be customized based on the file context of the associated folder. For instance, a local folder preview can provide preview renderings of file content. In another example, a collaborative folder preview can identify other users with access to the file.

A computing system obtains a plurality of language-specific automatic speech recognition modules and a universal automatic speech recognition module trained on a multi-language training dataset comprising training data corresponding to each of the plurality of different languages. The computing system then compiles the universal automatic speech recognition module with the plurality of language-specific automatic speech recognition modules to generate a configurable multilingual model that is configured to selectively and dynamically utilize a sub-set of the plurality of language-specific automatic speech recognition modules with the universal automatic speech recognition module to process audio content in response to user input identifying one or more target languages associated with the audio content.

The anvil may be moveable on a leadscrew element to alternately generate energy in an energy storage means and to move along the leadscrew element to impact the anvil. A viscoelastic mechanism or a dampening mechanism is used to reduce the reflected force and or torque during operation of the rotary impactor. High frequency linear impacts by the impactor obviate the need for a surgeon to provide an external push force on the impactor in order to perform a successful surgical operation.

Electronic input signals are received from a sensor suite, including an occupant position signal and a seatbelt usage status signal. A restraint capacity setting of the airbag is adjusted in response to the electronic input signals such that corresponding restraint activation logic is executed by the controller based on whether the occupant is belted or unbelted. Different ASZs may be used for belted and unbelted occupants. A motor vehicle includes a vehicle body defining a vehicle interior, an airbag, a seatbelt, a sensor suite for detecting a position of an occupant relative to the ASZ, and a controller operable for controlling a restraint capacity setting and location of the ASZ in accordance with the method.

One such embodiment receives a telephone call from a plain old telephone service (POTS) device. The telephone call includes a telephone number corresponding to a destination device. Next, a ringing tone is provided to the POTS device and the telephone number is transmitted to a proxy agent. A message is received from the proxy agent. The message indicates that a telephonic connection has been established between the proxy agent and the destination device. Responsive to receiving the message from the proxy agent, a real-time communications connection between the POTS device and the destination device is created by providing answer signaling for the received telephone call to the POTS device.
