Abstract: A Far UV-C light device has a Far UV-C lamp located within a housing emitting a Far UV-C light having a wavelength of 222+/?1 nm for destroying pathogens. A handle connected with a body to a housing allows the Far UV-C device to be hand held and moved to a selected location. The handle is attached to a battery that provides electric energy that excites the Far UV-C lamp to emit Far UV-C light.

Abstract: A game system operates by receiving a start game request for a game corresponding to a game application having a player token NFT associated therewith; generating launch metadata; sending the launch metadata to a wallet associated with a user of a client device, the wallet containing a private key associated with the player token NFT; receiving, from the wallet, a launch response that is generated based on the private key; generating, based on the launch response, ownership check data; sending the ownership check data to a blockchain system that stores the player token NFT; receiving, from the blockchain system, an ownership validation response; enabling, via the game application, play of the multiplayer game associated with the game application when the ownership validation response indicates ownership of the player token NFT is verified; and preventing, via the game application, the play of the multiplayer game when the ownership validation response indicates the ownership of the player token NFT is not ver

Abstract: Proactive caching, at a client device (e.g., a feature phone), of transient assistant action suggestions for selective rendering by an assistant client application of the client device. A transient assistant action suggestion, when rendered via an assistant client application and selected, causes the assistant client application to initiate performance of a corresponding assistant action. In various implementations, a prefetched transient action suggestion can be a time-constrained suggestion that includes at least associated rendering restriction metadata that defines one or more temporal windows to which rendering of the time-constrained suggestion is restricted. Proactive cache refresh rate metadata can also be associated with transient action suggestion(s) and defines a duration during which the assistant client application is to refrain from interfacing with a remote system to prefetch updated transient assistant action suggestions.

Abstract: The present embodiments provide a medical device for implantation in a patient comprising a stent and a valve. The stent comprises a proximal region comprising a cylindrical shape having a first outer diameter in an expanded state, and a distal region comprising a cylindrical shape having a second outer diameter in the expanded state. The second outer diameter is greater than the first outer diameter. A proximal region of the valve is at least partially positioned within the proximal region of the stent, and the distal region of the valve is at least partially positioned within one of tapered and distal regions of the stent. When implanted, the proximal region of the stent and the proximal region of the valve are aligned with a native valve, and the distal region of the valve is distally spaced-apart from the native valve.

Abstract: A method involves forming a metal layer on a metal seed layer, the metal seed layer formed on a carrier wafer. A surface of the metal layer defines a first metal bonding layer. A second metal bonding layer is provided on a target substrate having recording head subassemblies. Mating surfaces of the first and second metal bonding layers are activated and the carrier wafer is flipped and joined with the target substrate such that the first and second metal bonding layers are bonded and the metal layer is integrated with the recording head as a near-field transducer.

Abstract: Integrated energy systems, such as for use in enhanced oil recovery operations, and associated devices and methods are described herein. A representative integrated energy system can include a power plant system having multiple modular nuclear reactors. The nuclear reactors can generate steam for direct industrial use or for use in an electrical power conversion system to generate electricity. Individual ones of the nuclear reactors can be configured to generate steam or electricity based on the requirements of different stages of the oil recovery operation. For example, during a first stage, a subset of the nuclear reactors can be configured to generate steam for the oil recovery operation for injection into an oil reservoir. During a second stage, some or all of the nuclear reactors in the subset can be reconfigured to generate electricity that can be routed to an industrial process different than the oil recovery operation.
Abstract: Systems and methods for performing trick play functionality using trick play streams during adaptive bitrate streaming in accordance with embodiments of the invention are disclosed. One embodiment includes requesting a video container index from a video container file containing a video stream from a plurality of alternative streams of video; requesting at least one portion of the video stream using at least one entry from the video container index; decoding the at least one portion of the video stream; receiving at least one user instruction to perform a visual search of the media; requesting a trick play container index from a trick play container file containing a trick play stream; requesting at least one frame of video from the at least one trick play stream; and decoding and displaying the at least one frame of video from the trick play stream.

Abstract: A module that is useful for receiving stormwater when buried in permeable media comprises a base from which a plurality of columns extends upwardly, to support two or more different-elevation horizontal plates. Each plate has a plurality of holes, through each of which a column extends. The plates are secured to the columns at their respective elevations by self-acting engaging means comprising a latch, e.g. a peg extending radially from the column, and a mating receiver, e.g., an elastically deflectable plate having a hole that receives the peg. The angular orientation around the column of the self-acting engaging means varies with the plate elevation, so that for example, the first plate is only engageable at the first elevation and the second plate is only engageable at the second elevation. A module is assembled by lifting or lowering each plate along the column lengths until the plate becomes automatically engaged at the particular plate's predetermined elevation.

Abstract: A dehydrohalogenation product includes a hydrochlorofluorocarbon mixture of a fluoroolefin of formula RCX=CZQ and a halofluoroalkane of formula RCXYCZQT. R is a perfluorinated alkyl group and X, Z, and Q are independently H or halogen. One of Y and T is H and the other is Cl, Br, or I. About 80% or greater of the hydrochlorofluorocarbon mixture is the fluoroolefin. The dehydrohalogenation product also includes a caustic agent and a solvent. In some embodiments, the dehydrohalogenation product is free of any catalyst, including any phase transfer catalyst.

Abstract: Processes for preparing a polymer polyol (PMPO) in which a base polyol is continuously produced in a continuous base polyol reactor, the base polyol is continuously discharged from the continuous base polyol reactor; the base polyol is continuously introduced to a continuous PMPO reactor, which is different from the continuous base polyol reactor, and PMPO is continuously removed from the PMPO reactor. Production plant configured to carry out such processes are also described.
Abstract: Various arrangements for using a positioning tag to facilitate control of a smart home device are presented herein. A communication sessions can be established between a control device and a positioning tag via a first device-to-device communication protocol. In response to a trigger event indicative of a user desiring to control the separate smart home device being detected, a positioning enablement message can be transmitted to the positioning tag via the first device-to-device communication protocol. A signal used for positioning is transmitted by the positioning tag using a second device-to-device communication protocol. Based on the received signal via the second device-to-device communication protocol, an interface that controls the smart home device is activated.
