Abstract: Disclosed are systems and methods of correction of spinal deformity that overcome current limitations by utilizing a dynamic, multi-segment torso orthosis that allows motion during wear. The disclosed embodiments utilize a series of elastically coupled segments that conform to the circumference of the torso of a patient. Adjustable elastic coupling mechanisms are utilized to create and alter forces and moments that are applied to the torso through the segments. These elastic coupling mechanisms also allow each circumferential segment to move relative to the other segments giving the brace dynamic capability.

Abstract: In an illustrative integrated circuit, a chirp generator provides a chirp signal having linearly-ramped chirp intervals, while a shift frequency generator provides a signal having a different shift frequency during each of multiple segments in each chirp interval. A modulator combines the signals to derive a segmented chirp signal having multiple linearly-ramped chirp segments in each chirp interval. The modulator may be a single sideband modulator to provide frequency up-shifted and frequency down-shifted chirp segments. The segmented chirp signal may be suppressed during resettling intervals of the original chirp signal.

Abstract: In a method, a visual hull is generated based on intersections of first 3D primitives of a plurality of first silhouettes with a bounding box of a 3D model. The first silhouettes are generated by projecting the 3D model onto planes perpendicular to a number of selected view directions of the 3D model. Each of the first 3D primitives is obtained by extruding a connected loop of a respective first silhouette along a view direction of the number of selected view directions that is associated with the respective first silhouette. A carved mesh is be generated based on subtractions of second 3D primitives derived from positive parts of the 3D model to carve out redundant structures from the visual hull. The positive parts are obtained based on fitting planes that slices the 3D model. A low-poly mesh sequence is generated based on progressive simplifications of the carved mesh.

Abstract: A set of training images are input into a neural network that outputs a pixel-wise phase matrix identifying pixels in the training images. Based on the pixel-wise phase matrix, a spatial light modulator (SLM) is actuated to output, onto a vehicle windshield, an augmented reality (AR) image including a plurality of sub-images each output in one of a plurality of focal planes. Each training image corresponds to one respective sub-image. A feedback image of the AR image is obtained via an image sensor. An offset is determined based on comparing the training images to the feedback image. Parameters of a loss function are updated based on the offset, and the updated parameters are provided to the neural network to obtain an updated offset.

Abstract: An example method of operation may include applying a set of initial power and gain parameters for a speaker, playing a stimulus signal via the speaker, determining a sound level at a microphone location and a sound level at a predefined distance from the speakers, determining a gain at the microphone location based on a difference of the sound level at the microphone location and the sound level at the predefined distance from the speaker, and applying the gain to the speaker output.

Abstract: A power line communication (PLC) system for a vehicle is contemplated. The system may include a plurality of power lines configured to connect at least a first node and a second node to negative and positive terminals of a vehicle battery. The system may include a filter connected to the power lines. The filter may be configured to attract a first portion of a PLC signal to the negative terminal prior to the first portion reaching the second node and to permit a second portion of the PLC signal to continue transmission to the second node.

Abstract: A biosolids treatment system that treats human biosolids to produce thermal energy for self-consumption for the production of beneficial use products including low carbon ash, high carbon activated biochar, and Class A biosolids. The system includes a variable feed conveyor that conveys a biosolid feed into a dryer; a dryer that dries the biosolid feed to a predetermined moisture content to create one of a beneficial use products, where the predetermined moisture content is controlled by varying the speed of variable feed conveyors and a variable feed mixer; and a gasifier that converts the biosolid feed into two of the beneficial use products.

Abstract: Disclosed herein is an assembly, method of assembling, and kit for assembling an assembled flexible helical belt that is mounted within a mounting space defined by a continuous mechanical constraint of a device. Embodiments of the flexible helical belt include a flexible helical belt that has a plurality of belt teeth, where some of the belt teeth are each pierced by a through hole which extends through the respective belt tooth and where the flexible helical belt is of sufficient length such that, when the flexible helical belt is mounted within the intended mounting space, the flexible helical belt overlaps itself by at least one rotation such that each through hole is transversely aligned with at least one other through hole, enabling a transverse compression device to be fitted through the through holes, creating a transverse compressive force on the flexible helical belt to form a single continuous drive belt.

The method further includes facilitating taking control of the selected NFT of a blockchain of the object distributed ledger and updating the selected NFT utilizing the reassignment information for the NFT to produce an updated NFT. The method further includes causing generation of a new block affiliated with the updated NFT via the blockchain of the object distributed ledger, where the new block includes the updated NFT.

Abstract: A magnetic charging assembly includes an insert and an adapter including opposing front and back surfaces. Pins extend from the back surface of the adapter, and the front surface includes an outlet configured to receive a plug. A first set of magnets is provided adjacent to the back surface. The insert includes a front surface, a plurality of pin receiving cavities extending inwardly from the front surface, and a second set of magnets is provided adjacent to an inner side of the front surface. The first set of magnets and the second set of magnets enable the adapter to attach to the insert. The set of pins and the pin receiving cavities are electrically conductive such that, when the pins of the adapter are received by the pin receiving cavities of the insert, power is provided through the outlet of the adapter.

Abstract: Innovations in intra-picture prediction with multiple candidate reference lines available are described herein. For example, intra-picture prediction for a current block uses a non-adjacent reference line of sample values to predict the sample values of the current block. This can improve the effectiveness of the intra-picture prediction when the reference line of sample values that is adjacent the current block includes significant capture noise, significant quantization error, or significantly different values (compared to the current block) due to an occlusion.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for precise location-based routing of calls. After a user device originates a non-short code call to a jurisdiction specific number, one or more networked computer processing components utilize the location of the originating user device to generate a location-based translated number. The location-based translated number combines the higher-precision location of the originating device with the destination number, causing the call to be routed to a destination more likely to be associated with the jurisdiction from which the call originated.

Abstract: A computer generates historical time and velocity data for vehicles based on data from sensor(s) observing the vehicles. The computer determines, based on the historical time and velocity data, a control policy that controls movement of the vehicles. The control policy is represented as a weighted combination of a set of predefined policies. Determining the control policy comprises calculating weights or parameters for a weighted combination of the set of predefined policies that minimizes a residual error term. The residual error term is computed based on a difference between the historical time and velocity data and predicted time and velocity data associated with the weighted combination of the set of predefined policies. The computer determines an action plan based on the determined nonlinear control policy. The computer transmits, to a machine, a control signal causing the machine to perform or simulate at least a part of the determined action plan.

Abstract: A system can include one or more processors and one or more non-transitory computer-readable media storing computing instructions that, when executed on the one or more processors, cause the one or more processors to perform operations comprising: receiving, at a search engine, a user search query submitted by a user; generating, using a recall personalization model, a simulated query that supplements the user search query with a feature vector reflecting personalization preferences of the user; and generating, using the search engine, search results for the user search query based, at least in part, on the simulated query that accounts for the personalization preferences of the user. Abstract: Systems, methods, and computer-readable media herein modify the configuration of one or more antenna elements of an antenna array based on signal quality information associated with one or more UE devices. The signal quality information of the UE devices can be analyzed by a base station and the base station can respond to the change in signal quality of the UE devices by modifying one or more antenna elements from a first mapping to a second mapping to improve the quality of transmissions between the UE devices and a base station.
