Abstract: During a sleep session of a user of a display assistant device, the device records sound, movement, and ambient conditions in proximity to the device. The ambient conditions include a light level. The device analyzes the recorded sound and movement to identify throughout the sleep session of the user a time-varying sleep state of the user. The sleep state is characterized by a sleep quality and a sleep phase. The device also analyzes the recorded ambient conditions and the recorded sound throughout the sleep session to identify a plurality of time-varying sleep disturbances occurring during the sleep session of the user. After the sleep session of the user has concluded, the device presents on a screen of the device a sleep summary of the sleep session. The sleep summary includes visual indications of the sleep quality and disturbances identified throughout the sleep session.

Abstract: An example luminaire includes a white light source (e.g. LEDs emitting white light in a region of the CIE color chart within three Macadam ellipses below the black body curve) and a violet light source emitting light in a wavelength range of approximately 380 nm to 450 nm (e.g. 405 nm LEDs) for deactivating bacteria, such as Methicillin-Resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) on a surface exposed to illumination from the luminaire. A controller coupled to the sources pulses the violet light source at an irregular rate and interval over a time period to apply a deactivation dosage of the violet light to bacteria within range of the emissions. When ON, the violet source emits light for deactivating bacteria at an intensity higher than the concurrent intensity of the white light.

Abstract: Embodiments of the invention provide swallowable devices, preparations and methods for delivering drugs and other therapeutic agents within the GI tract. Many embodiments provide a swallowable device for delivering the agents. Particular embodiments provide a swallowable device such as a capsule for delivering drugs into the intestinal wall or other GI lumen. Embodiments also provide various drug preparations that are configured to be contained within the capsule, advanced from the capsule into the intestinal wall and degrade to release the drug into the bloodstream to produce a therapeutic effect. The preparation can be operably coupled to delivery means having a first configuration where the preparation is contained in the capsule and a second configuration where the preparation is advanced out of the capsule into the intestinal wall. Embodiments of the invention are particularly useful for the delivery of drugs which are poorly absorbed, tolerated and/or degraded within the GI tract.

  • Publication number: 20230362092
Abstract: Systems and methods for routing traffic through a network along Label-Switched Paths (LSPs) that may extend across multiple autonomous systems include performing Internet Protocol (IP) routing lookups as a packet is transmitted along the LSP. In one implementation, a packet having a predetermined value (which may be inserted by an upstream network device) is received at a network device after travelling along a first segment of an LSP. In response to identifying the predetermined label value of the packet, the network device may perform an IP routing lookup using IP routing information included in the packet to identify a next hop for the packet. The network device may then update a label of the packet such that the packet is routed along a second segment of the LSP and transmit the communication packet to the next hop.

  • Publication number: 20230358709
Abstract: In quartz-enhanced photoacoustic spectroscopy (QEPAS), an analyte (typically in gas phase) generates a pressure wave in response to incident laser light. A quartz tuning fork (QTF) resonant at the frequency of the pressure wave transduces the pressure wave into an electrical signal. Pulsing the laser briefly reduces the amount of thermal chirp and increases the fraction of time that the laser emits at the wavelength(s) of interest. This increases the measurement efficiency. Pulsing the incident laser light with bursts of short pulses at the QTF resonant frequency increases signal strength. Exciting the sample with a two pulses at different laser wavelengths, separated by a half QTF period yields signal and background acoustic waves that partially cancel when integrated by the QTF, producing a differential measurement. Pulsing the incident laser light at a frequency faster than the gas response cut off frequency can improve the noise performance of a QEPAS measurement.
