  • Patent number: 11805064
Abstract: A system and method are disclosed for estimating the location of a satellite terminal. The terminal is selected from among a plurality of terminals, and one or more position estimates are generated for a satellite which provides service to the terminal. The position estimated can be generated, for example, by performing a first one or more iterative grid searches over a plurality of potential position estimates for the satellite. A location estimate is subsequently generated for the terminal by performing a second one or more iterative grid searches over a plurality of potential location estimates for the terminal.

  • Patent number: 11803897
Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for sorting elements, such as bids in an auction environment or marketplace for the display of an advertisement on a web page. According to one implementation, a plurality of elements may be received over a network. For example, the plurality of elements may comprise a plurality of bids, each of which may include, for example, a bid price, a bid allocation, and a bid target. The received set of elements may be recursively partitioned into a plurality of element subsets. For example, the element set may be partitioned about a pivot selected from a sample set of elements chosen from the element set. A subset of elements may be identified from the element set as eligible elements (e.g., bids eligible for selection as a winning bid). Once the set of eligible elements has been identified, the recursive partitioning of elements may be terminated.

  • Patent number: 11801003
Abstract: At least one magnetic field actuator is configured for generating an actuated magnetic field that at least partially cancels an outside magnetic field, thereby yielding a total residual magnetic field. A plurality of magnetometers are configured for taking measurements of the total residual magnetic field. The magnetometers include a plurality of coarse magnetometers and a plurality of fine magnetometers. A processor is configured for acquiring the total residual magnetic field measurements from the coarse magnetometers, estimating the total residual magnetic field at the fine magnetometers based on total residual magnetic field measurements acquired from the plurality of coarse magnetometers, and controlling the actuated magnetic field at least partially based on the total residual magnetic field estimates at the fine magnetometers in a manner that suppresses the total residual magnetic field at the fine magnetometers to a baseline level, such that at least one of the fine magnetometers is in-range.

  • Patent number: 11803633
Abstract: Biometric data are obtained from biometric sensors on a stand-alone computing device, which may contain an ASIC, connected to or incorporated within it. The computing device and ASIC, in combination or individually, capture biometric samples, extract biometric features and match them to one or more locally stored, encrypted templates. The biometric matching may be enhanced by the use of an entered PIN. The biometric templates and other sensitive data at rest are encrypted using hardware elements of the computing device and ASIC, and/or a PIN hash. A stored obfuscated Password is de-obfuscated and may be released to the authentication mechanism in response to successfully decrypted templates and matching biometric samples. A different de-obfuscated password may be released to authenticate the user to a remote or local computer and to encrypt data in transit. This eliminates the need for the user to remember and enter complex passwords on the device.

  • Patent number: 11804231
Abstract: In some implementations, a user device may receive input that triggers transmission of information via sound. The user device may select an audio clip based on a setting associated with the device, and may modify a digital representation of the selected audio clip using an encoding algorithm and based on data associated with a user of the device. The user device may transmit, to a remote server, an indication of the selected audio clip, an indication of the encoding algorithm, and the data associated with the user. The user device may use a speaker to play audio, based on the modified digital representation, for recording by other devices. Accordingly, the user device may receive, from the remote server and based on the speaker playing the audio, a confirmation that users associated with the other devices have performed an action based on the data associated with the user of the device.

  • Patent number: 11801572
Abstract: A method and system is provided for laser piercing of thick plate material that allows for rapid transition to a cutting operation that can reliably produce a piercing hole and complete a cutting operation of the intended shape in a short time, while improving the cutting quality of the cutting after switching from the piercing operation. The cutting nozzle has a centrally located laser. The piercing operation applies a laser beam to the cut work while axially supplied pure oxygen gas is applied towards the cutting work. Additionally, a direction controlled nozzle adjacent the main cutting port provides a discharge of high pressure compressed air non-axially relative to the cutting operation to clear excess molten metal and debris from the kerf thereby increasing the efficiency of the piercing and shortening the cycle time.

  • Patent number: 11803704
Abstract: Techniques are described herein that are capable of intelligently updating a collaboration site or a template that may be used to create a new collaboration site. The collaboration site or the template may be updated to include new features based on (e.g., based at least in part on) a likelihood that the new features will be valuable to users. The likelihood that new features will be valuable to the users may be determined (e.g., derived) using heuristics, machine learning, intelligent user experiences, and/or an understanding of user behavior gathered by a service that provides the collaboration site or the template. The likelihood may be compared to a likelihood threshold to determine whether the collaboration site or the template is to be updated. In accordance with this example, the update may be made if the likelihood is greater than or equal to the likelihood threshold.

  • Patent number: 11801624
Abstract: Arrays of male fastener elements are formed by molding preforms in cavities defined in one or more adjacent plates and shaped to mold preform arms that extend to a plate side, such as in a cross-machine direction of a continuous molding process. The preforms may be deformed to flatten their upper surfaces and lengthen the arms. Stems of preforms have molded side surfaces and each have width, measured in the longitudinal direction of the strip, that narrows with distance from the strip surface, and also narrows with distance from a parting line extending from the strip surface to the head between the arms.

  • Patent number: 11803887
Abstract: An agent selection component that selects and activates artificial agents for interacting with a user on behalf of various entity based on user interaction with a real environment. The agent selection component detects user interaction with the real environment, and evaluates the detected user interaction. Based on that evaluation, the agent selection component selects an artificial agent that acts for an entity from amongst multiple artificial agents that act for different entities (e.g., to answer questions, to place orders, to schedule, or the like). The agent selection component then causes the selected artificial agent to activate to interact with the entity. Thus, different interactions with a real environment may result in the agent selection component permitting the user to interface with artificial agents for different entities.
