Abstract: This document describes techniques and systems that enable an interface for communicating a threshold in a camera. An electronic device recognizes an in-camera, drag gesture that triggers a camera application to switch modes from a real-time display mode (displaying real-time preview images in a viewfinder) to a buffer-display mode, which displays frames recorded in the camera buffer. During the motion of the drag gesture, the electronic device provides dynamic visual feedback indicating a relation between a drag distance of the drag gesture and a target threshold for the drag gesture. For simplicity and conciseness, the visual feedback can be combined with the virtual shutter control. After meeting the threshold, the user releases the touch input of the drag gesture and the system triggers the camera application to switch modes. This allows capture of a “missed” moment that was recorded in the camera buffer but not stored in non-volatile memory.

Abstract: The description relates to a device (CTRL-DEV) for controlling a dual-mode Bluetooth low energy multimedia device (DM-BLE), the dual-mode BLE multimedia device comprising a first sound system (SS1) and a second sound system (SS2) which are arranged to simultaneously stream an input multimedia stream, the first and second sound systems being respectively associated with at least one first Bluetooth multimedia device (SPK1, SPK2, SPKN) and at least one Bluetooth multimedia device (BLE-SPK1, BLE-SPK2, BLE-SPKN). The description also refers to a dual-mode Bluetooth low energy multimedia device (DM-BLE?), a method, a computer program and a non-transitory computer-readable storage medium.

Abstract: According to one embodiment, an apparatus is disclosed. The apparatus includes an endoscopic clip placement tool and one or more marking clips attached to a specimen mass by the clip placement tool to mark a margin and orientation of the specimen mass. A specimen marking clip is also provided that is adapted to selectively attach to tissue inside of a patient and corresponding tissue that has been excised from the patient for analysis. Sutures may be associated with the clips to help ensure correct in vivo and ex vivo sample orientation. In vivo clips may remain in the patient's body if necessary.

Abstract: A method of operating a motor vehicle includes a vehicle controller receiving, from a first feedback sensor of an HV component, a first feedback signal indicative of an electrical characteristic of the HV component, and then detecting an HV system fault if the first feedback signal is less than a predefined electrical threshold. Upon detecting the system fault, the controller commands the HV component to operate at a commanded set-point; after sending the command, the controller receives, from a second feedback sensor of the HV component, a second feedback signal indicative of an operating characteristic of the HV component. An HV pathway failure is detected if the second feedback signal is not equal to or within a predefined operating range of the commanded set-point. Upon detecting the pathway failure in an HV electrical pathway of the HV component, the vehicle controller transmits a command signal to take a remedial action.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatuses are provided for a vehicle tethered by a hitch to a trailer. The method includes generating sensor data from one or more sensors that are responsive to forces applied to the hitch by a vehicle mechanically coupled to the hitch; receiving sensor data to compute a direction for the guidance of the trailer; monitoring a set of parameters reflecting forces in a lateral and traverse direction derived from data generated by the sensors wherein the set of parameters include at least one parameter of a magnitude of force, and at least one parameter of the direction of force acting upon the hitch; and calculating at least a rate-of-change of the magnitude of force and direction over time to determine a trajectory for the trailer that enables the trailer to follow the lead vehicle without a tractive effort of the lead vehicle.

The tape reel is allowed to freely rotate while the gripper pad remains affixed onto a surface such as a floor, a lawn or a turf.

Abstract: Systems and methods for supplying power (both active and reactive) at a medium voltage from a DCSTATCOM to an IT load without using a transformer are disclosed. The DCSTATCOM includes an energy storage device, a two-stage DC-DC converter, and a multi-level inverter, each of which are electrically coupled to a common negative bus. The DC-DC converter may include two stages in a bidirectional configuration. One stage of the DC-DC converter uses a flying capacitor topology. The voltages across the capacitors of the flying capacitor topology are balanced and switching losses are minimized by fixed duty cycle operation. The DC-DC converter generates a high DC voltage from a low or high voltage energy storage device such as batteries and/or ultra-capacitors. The multi-level, neutral point, diode-clamped inverter converts the high DC voltage into a medium AC voltage using a space vector pulse width modulation (SVPWM) technique.

Abstract: A system and method for automatically identifying an operating procedure for resolving a customer support request includes receiving a customer support request for resolving an issue, encoding the issue into one or more text encoding representations, providing the one or more text encoding representations as a first input to a matching and selection unit, providing operating procedure encodings for a plurality of operating procedures as a second input to the matching and selection unit, comparing, by the matching and selection unit, the one or more text encoding representations to the operating procedure encodings to identify one or more operating procedures for resolving the issue, and providing the one or more operating procedures as recommendations for resolving the issue, wherein at least one of the one or more text encoding representations and the operating procedure encodings are generated by utilizing a geometric progressing natural language processing (NLP) algorithm.

Abstract: A method for controlling an amount of power delivered to an electrical load may include controlling an average magnitude of a load current towards a target load current that ranges from a maximum-rated current to a minimum-rated current in a normal mode, and controlling the average magnitude of the load current below the minimum-rated current in a burst mode. The burst mode may include at least one burst-mode period that comprises a first time period associated with an active state and a second time period associated with an inactive state. During the burst mode, the method may include regulating a peak magnitude of the load current towards the minimum-rated current during the active state, and stopping the generation of at least one drive signal during the inactive state to control the average magnitude of the load current to be less than the minimum-rated current.

One example provides a head-mounted display system, comprising a frame, an eye-imaging camera supported on the frame, a switchable hot mirror array comprising a plurality of switchable hot mirrors configured to direct light reflecting from an eye toward the eye-imaging camera, and a controller configured to control switching of a reflectivity of each of the plurality of switchable hot mirrors.

Abstract: A method is provided in one example embodiment and includes detecting actions taken by users in a computer-implemented matching system and, for each of the detected actions, storing data indicative of the detected action. The method further includes filtering the stored data in accordance with at least one filter selected by an administrator of the computer-implemented matching system and creating a user action log from the filtered stored data. The user action log includes all of the stored data that matches the selected at least one filter. The at least one filter may include log start time, log end time, type of action, user ID, target user ID, and/or site type. The detected action may include viewing another user's profile, changing the user's own profile, sending a message to another user via the computer-implemented matching system, and/or performing a matching search using the computer-implemented matching system.

Abstract: A “motorless” power electronic test device for testing adjustable speed motor drives without having to connect motors to the drive includes a bidirectional internal power converter, filtering, a charging switch for charging the capacitors of internal and external power converters, line switches for setting the test mode and operating the device, and a switch controller. The test device can be set to separately test an external power converter or an external rectifier, with the internal power converter operating in an AC-to-DC mode for testing the external power converter, and operating in a DC-to-AC mode for testing the external rectifier. The motorless test device recycles test power to reduce testing losses and carbon footprint. It is also much lighter and more convenient to handle than a full-load motor-absorber and, therefore, more amenable to deployment as a portable unit that can be readily transported to customer sites.
