Abstract: A method for operating an acetylene hydrogenation unit in an integrated steam cracking-fluidized catalytic dehydrogenation (FCDh) system may include separating a cracked gas from a steam cracking system and an FCDh effluent from an FCDh system into a hydrogenation feed and an acetylene-depleted stream, the hydrogenation feed comprising at least hydrogen, CO, and acetylene. During normal operating conditions, at least 20% of the CO in the hydrogenation feed is from the cracked gas. The method may include contacting the hydrogenation feed with an acetylene hydrogenation catalyst to hydrogenate at least a portion of the acetylene in the hydrogenation feed to produce a hydrogenated effluent. The steam cracking is operated under conditions that increase CO production such that a concentration of CO in the cracked gas is great enough that when a flowrate of the FCDh effluent is zero, a CO concentration in the hydrogenation feed is at least 100 ppmv.

Abstract: Systems and methods include reading a value of a desired light color temperature-time function. A first drive signal parameter is selected for a first light source having a first color temperature and a second drive signal parameter is selected for a second light source having a second color temperature. The drive signal parameters are selected to create a color temperature for a value of the desired light color temperature-time function. First light is emitted from the first light source and second light from the second light source. The first light and the second light combine to form blended light at the color temperature for the value of the desired light color temperature-time function.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatuses may encode a media content item based on metadata from previous encoding. The encoding may also generate encoding metadata, which may comprise a qualitative or quantitative characterization of the encoded media content item. A prediction engine may, based on this metadata, determine new encoding settings for the same or a different video resolution. The prediction engine may cause an encoded media content item to be stored and may cause encoding of the media content item using the new encoding settings.

The compression wrap garments and embodiments can be used in concert with existing modified garments, encircling the forelegs and or hind legs and torso, if necessary, of a quadruped to provide support, rest, surface guarding, and tension to animals suffering from degenerative, surface, or deep spinal diseases including or excluding extremity trauma. The variable compression may be graded or independently distributed in a continuous nor non-continuous manner.
Abstract: A system and method for utilizing corner-cube reflector technology for irradiation control in direct radiant heating systems is described. The system and method has application in many types of direct irradiation heating systems and is applicable to both narrowband or broadband directed irradiation heating systems. The purpose and result of the implementation is to improve the overall system efficiency through the redirection of photons back to a targeted item which is being heated or treated with the irradiation energy.
Abstract: A system and method set a liner hanger in a borehole by actuating a hydraulic setting mechanism on the hanger to engage slips in the borehole. A setting tool runs the hanger into position. A reserve volume of the tool holds a clean fluid separate from the borehole. A piston of the tool has a tool volume for the fluid. During run in, pressure in the tool volume is balanced to hydrostatic pressure by drawing actuation fluid from the reserve volume to the tool volume through a check valve. To set the hanger, a plug is engaged on a seat in the tool, tubing pressure is applied behind the engaged plug, and the seat is unlocked. With more applied pressure, the piston moves, reduces the tool volume, and intensifies pressure of the clean fluid communicated to the hanger's setting mechanism. Over-pressure can be handled by a venting valve.
