  • Patent number: 12239157
Abstract: A two stage system for extraction of oil from whole citrus fruit is provided. The first stage is known in the art and includes a first plurality of toothed rollers which convey citrus as the teeth penetrate and rupture oil glands. The oil passes into a first water pan. A novel second stage uses a second plurality of toothed rollers to continue the penetration and rupturing of oil glands. The second plurality of rollers are positioned in an isolated second pan to partially submerge the citrus. A middle phase liquor with extremely low oil concentration is transferred into said second pan to initiate desorption of oil from the citrus. The desorption technique in one embodiment increases yield by 4% or more. This technique is expected to increase yield even more as the recovery by the first stage is reduced.

  • Patent number: 12239345
Abstract: An “extension ready” spinal support system that enables the extension to be accomplished with minimal disturbance to an existing spinal support structure to which the extension system is coupled. In some embodiments, the existing spinal support rod and pedicle screws can remain intact while extension subassemblies are mounted directly to the existing base rod receptacles. The extension subassemblies include a skirt portion that surrounds and engages the existing base receptacle to prevent splaying of the base receptacle. Additional resistance to splaying may be provided by a canted thread arrangement between the skirt and the base receptacle. In some embodiments, the extension receptacle is provided with a low profile (i.e., shortened axial length from the base rod receptacle) by providing a monoaxial rotation structure that rotates about but does not pitch relative to the extension axis and is shorter relative to polyaxial rotation structures.

  • Patent number: 12244506
Abstract: Some embodiments of the invention provide a method for performing congestion control for a particular packet flow associated with a source first host computer operating in a network. The method is performed at the first source host computer. The method determines a bandwidth threshold specified for the particular packet flow. Based on the bandwidth threshold, the method allocates an amount of bandwidth to the particular packet flow. The method periodically receives sets of contextual data associated with the particular packet flow. For the received sets of contextual data, the method iteratively (1) computes a current bandwidth consumption by the particular packet flow and (2) based on the sets of contextual data and the current bandwidth consumption, adjusts the amount of bandwidth allocated to the particular packet flow.

  • Patent number: 12241983
Abstract: Systems and methods for determining elevation based on structural modeling and light detection and ranging (LIDAR) data are disclosure. LIDAR bare earth data corresponding to an area within a parcel boundary is obtained as preliminary elevation data. A basis of structure boundary is determined for a structure within the parcel boundary based on an absence of the LIDAR bare earth data within a region in the area. Three-dimensional models are generated based on photographic data, to represent portions of the structure that affect LIDAR signals. A structure boundary for the structure is determined based on the basis of structure boundary in combination with supplemental elevation data generated using the three-dimensional models. Adjacent grade values are determined based on a portion of the preliminary elevation data and supplemental elevation data corresponding to an area between the structure boundary and a buffer boundary.

  • Patent number: 12243223
Abstract: Digital imaging systems and methods are described for analyzing pixel data of an image of a skin area of a user for determining skin oiliness. A plurality of training images of a plurality of individuals are aggregated, each of the training images comprising pixel data of a respective skin area of an individual. A skin oiliness model, trained with the pixel data, is operable to output, across a range of a skin oiliness scale, skin oiliness values associated with a degree of skin oiliness. An image of a user comprising pixel data of at least a portion of a user skin area is received and analyzed, by the skin oiliness model, to determine a user-specific skin oiliness value of the user skin area. A user-specific electronic recommendation addressing at least one feature identifiable within the pixel data is generated and rendered, on a display screen of a user computing device.
