Abstract: A cordless surgical knife comprises an enclosure and a blade extending from the enclosure. The enclosure contains a differential amplifier circuit configured to provide an RF signal, an output monitor feedback circuit, a return monitor feedback circuit, and a microprocessor that receives data from the feedback circuits and adjusts the RF signal. The enclosure contains a receiving antenna that is operable to receive a wireless signal associated with the RF signal from tissue of a patient. A transmitting antenna may be in electrical contact with tissue of the patient and transmit the wireless signal. Optionally, both the receiving antenna and transmitting antenna include at least two separate inductive circuits aligned on different planes, or each of the receiving antenna and the transmitting antennas is encapsulated inside an enclosure floating in a liquid so that the antennas are aligned by gravity.

Abstract: A system (20) and method for printing on clear polymeric film web (24) are disclosed. A first stationary inkjet print unit (44, 60, 70, 82) has first ejection nozzles that span a width of the clear polymeric film web and a second stationary inkjet print unit (44, 60, 70, 82) has second ejection nozzles that span the width of the clear polymeric film web. A web transport conveys the clear polymeric film web past the stationary inkjet print units. First and second print controllers operate the first and second and stationary inkjet print units to deposit drops of a first and a second material on the clear polymeric film web at a first and a second resolution, respectively. In addition, dimensions and position of a page element to be printed on the clear polymeric film web are adjusted to compensate for distortion that may occur to the printed page element due to shrinking of the clear polymeric film web.

Abstract: Apparatus for and method of aligning optical components such as mirrors to facilitate proper beam alignment using an image integration optical system is used to integrate images from multiple optical features such as from both left mirror bank and right mirror bank to present the images simultaneously to the camera system. A fluorescent material may be used to render a beam footprint visible and the relative positions of the footprint and an alignment feature may be used to align the optical feature.
Abstract: A drive mode control system for a vehicle includes an input device configured to receive an input from a user of the vehicle, the input being indicative of a selected linear performance index value from a linear range of performance index values between minimum and maximum performance index values and a control system configured to receive the selected linear performance index value, access predetermined powertrain settings corresponding to the minimum and maximum performance index values, linearly interpolate between the predetermined powertrain settings corresponding to the minimum and maximum performance index values based on the selected linear performance index value to obtain target powertrain settings, and control a powertrain of the vehicle based on the target powertrain settings.
Abstract: The present invention includes a device for securing bed sheets on a mattress having a bottom, a top surface, and a periphery including side and end walls, the device including a sleeve or band having side panels, end panels corner panels and a top edge, the sleeve or band can be fitted around the mattress periphery side and end walls. A securing, gripping, or positioning element, e.g., elastic or other suitable securing element, can be provided at one or more locations on the sleeve or band, wherein the securing, gripping, or positioning element(s) can be placed around the mattress periphery at a position below the mattress top surface. The securing, gripping, or positioning element(s) are capable of securing the bed sheets in between the sleeve or band and the mattress.
Abstract: Systems, methods, and apparatus are provided for real-time adjustment of image quality parameters. The system includes a controller configured to: acquire an image frame, having a fixed-pixel region that defines a region-of-interest, from one or more imaging devices; apply image processing techniques to determine a modified fixed-pixel region that excludes non-relevant object pixels; alter one or more image quality parameters based on statistics of pixels in the modified fixed-pixel region; and provide the altered one or more image quality parameters to the one or more imaging devices for use with subsequent image frames; wherein the one or more imaging devices produce an image that is tuned, based on the altered one or more image quality parameters, to the portions of the image in the region-of-interest that does not include the non-relevant object pixels.
