Abstract: Disclosed are techniques that provide a “best” picture taken within a few seconds of the moment when a capture command is received (e.g., when the “shutter” button is pressed). In some situations, several still images are automatically (that is, without the user's input) captured. These images are compared to find a “best” image that is presented to the photographer for consideration. Video is also captured automatically and analyzed to see if there is an action scene or other motion content around the time of the capture command If the analysis reveals anything interesting, then the video clip is presented to the photographer. The video clip may be cropped to match the still-capture scene and to remove transitory parts. Higher-precision horizon detection may be provided based on motion analysis and on pixel-data analysis.

Abstract: In a method, whether a sequence of pictures includes a flash picture is determined. The flash picture is associated with a scene change between (i) a first scene of a picture of the sequence of pictures and (ii) a second scene of a prior picture and a subsequent picture of the picture in the sequence of pictures. The scene change is determined based on a content change between the first scene and the second scene being larger than a threshold. An encoding process is performed on a current picture in the sequence of pictures in response to (i) the picture being determined as the flash picture and (ii) the picture being the current picture.

Abstract: A method for treating a waste stream from a copper CMP process including dissolved copper and abrasive particles having a number weighted mean size of less than 0.75 ?m includes introducing the waste stream into a feed tank, flowing the waste stream from the feed tank into an ultrafiltration module, filtering the waste stream through a membrane of the ultrafiltration module to form a solids-lean filtrate, directing the solids-lean filtrate from the ultrafiltration module through an ion exchange unit to remove dissolved copper and produce a treated aqueous solution having a lower copper concentration than the copper concentration of the waste stream, backwashing the membrane ultrafiltration module to remove the slurry solids from the membrane of the ultrafiltration module, and combining the removed slurry solids with the treated aqueous solution to form a combined discharge stream having a copper concentration suitable for discharge into the environment.

Abstract: A segmentation mask can be determined that includes at least one moving object in a plurality of images based on determining eccentricity for each pixel location in the plurality of images. A first image included in the plurality of images can be segmented by applying the segmentation mask to the image. The segmented first image can be transformed to a compressed dense matrix which includes pixel values for non-zero portions of the segmented first image. The compressed dense matrix can be input to a sparse convolutional neural network trained to detect objects. A detected object corresponding to the at least one moving object included in the first image can be output from the sparse convolutional neural network.
