Publication number: 20230171690Abstract: A base station transmits indications to a wireless device. The indications include: a wake-up indication indicating downlink control channel monitoring, for a plurality of cells, during a discontinuous reception (DRX) on duration of a DRX cycle; and a dormancy indication indicating a switching to a dormant bandwidth part of a cell, from the plurality of cells, to stop downlink control channel monitoring. During the DRX on duration and based on transmitting both the wake-up indication and the dormancy indication, the base station: stops transmitting a downlink control channel on the cell, while maintaining the cell activated; and receives a channel state information report for the dormant bandwidth part.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 12, 2023Publication date: June 1, 2023Applicant: Ofinno, LLCInventors: Hua Zhou, Esmael Hejazi Dinan, Ali Cagatay Cirik, Yunjung Yi, Youngwoo Kwak, Hyoungsuk Jeon, Kai Xu

Publication number: 20230166710Abstract: A method for controlling an electric drive unit (EDU) having a motor-driven torque converter includes receiving a request signal indicative of a requested output torque of the EDU, and operating the motor at a target motor speed using the requested output torque. The target motor speed minimizes system losses while achieving the requested output torque. When the requested output torque remains below a calibrated threshold and a turbine speed is less than a corner speed of the motor, a torque converter clutch (TCC) transitions to or remains in a locked state. The controller commands the TCC to transition to an unlocked state to reach the target motor speed, thereby selectively enabling torque multiplication. A powertrain system includes a driven load and the EDU. A computer readable storage medium may include executable instructions for performing the method.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 27, 2021Publication date: June 1, 2023Applicant: GM GLOBAL TECHNOLOGY OPERATIONS LLCInventors: Norman K. Publication number: 20230169157Abstract: A nonce is sent to a user communication device. Obfuscated biometric data is received from the user communication device. The obfuscated biometric data is generated by an obfuscation process that uses the nonce and first biometric data. The first biometric data is generated from a biometric of a user at the user communication device. For example, the first biometric data may be biometric data from a fingerprint scan. The obfuscation process is reversed by using the first nonce to produce the first biometric data. The first biometric data is compared to known biometric data of the user. In response to the first biometric data being within a threshold of the known biometric data, the user is authenticated.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 30, 2021Publication date: June 1, 2023Applicant: MICRO FOCUS LLC.Inventors: DOUGLAS MAX GROVER, MICHAEL F. Publication number: 20230169222Abstract: A method for pollutant sensor placement for pollutants from point sources is described. Data about environmental characteristics for a geographic region are received from a plurality of environmental sensors. The geographic region includes pollutant sources that emit a pollutant. The received data from one or more of the plurality of environmental sensors are transformed into common data having a common spatial and temporal discretization across the geographic region. Predicted emission plumes are generated for the pollutant sources within the geographic region that identify pollutant detection regions for the pollutant when the pollutant is emitted by the pollutant sources using the common data. Sensor locations for a plurality of pollutant sensors are greedily selected across the common spatial and temporal discretization according to a number of predicted emission plumes that are detectable by the plurality of pollutant sensors.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 21, 2022Publication date: June 1, 2023Applicant: Microsoft Technology Licensing, LLCInventors: Shirui WANG, Sara MALVAR MAUA, Leonardo DE OLIVEIRA NUNES, Kim D. Publication number: 20230169281Abstract: Representation learning for text and speech has improved many language-related tasks. However, existing methods only learn from one input modality, while a unified representation for both speech and text is needed for tasks such as end-to-end speech translation. Consequently, these methods cannot exploit various large-scale text and speech data and their performance is limited by the scarcity of parallel speech translation data. To address these problems, embodiments of a fused acoustic and text masked language model (FAT-MLM) are disclosed. FAT-MLM embodiments jointly learn a unified representation for both acoustic and text input from various types of corpora including parallel data for speech recognition and machine translation, and pure speech and text data. Within this cross-modal representation learning framework, an end-to-end model is further presented for fused acoustic and text speech translation.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 23, 2021Publication date: June 1, 2023Applicant: Baidu USA LLCInventors: Renjie ZHENG, Junkun CHEN, Mingbo MA, Liang HUANG
