Abstract: A method of video decoding for a video decoder includes determining whether a block size of a chroma block is less than or equal to a block size threshold. The method further includes, in response to a determination that the block size of the chroma block is greater than the block size threshold, selecting an intra prediction mode for the chroma block from a plurality of intra prediction modes. The method further includes, in response to a determination that the block size of the chroma block is less than or equal to the block size threshold, selecting the intra prediction mode for the chroma block from a subset of the plurality of intra prediction modes. The method further includes performing intra prediction for the chroma block based on a chroma sample obtained with the selected intra prediction mode to encode the chroma block.
Abstract: An image scanning system for determining a volume of product in a container, such as a grain bin, is secured to the container with a locking system. The image scanning device comprises an image scanning head rotatable in a first direction about a body housing, while the body housing is rotatable in a second direction about a securing arm. The first direction is perpendicular to the second direction. An image scanning device, which can be a LiDAR device, is housed within the image scanning head to image the container and the product as the device components are rotated. Software for controlling the system and outputting a volume change and a typographical representation of the product within the container is further provided.

Abstract: A radiation detection apparatus can include a scintillator to emit scintillating light in response to absorbing radiation; a photosensor to generate an electronic pulse in response to receiving the scintillating light; an analyzer to determine a characteristic of the radiation; and a housing that contains the scintillator, the photosensor, and the analyzer, wherein the radiation detection apparatus to is configured to allow functionality be changed without removing the analyzer from the housing. The radiation detection apparatus can be more compact and more rugged as compared to radiation detection apparatuses that include a photomultiplier tube.
Abstract: A weightlifting assembly includes a wall mount bracket configured for mounting to a wall surface and a weightlifting rack assembly connected to the wall mount bracket. The weightlifting rack assembly may have various configurations, including a foldable weight rack assembly, a pull-up bar, a fixed weightlifting rack, a wall-mount weightlifting rack, or various other configurations. The wall mount bracket may be elongated along a lateral width thereof and may have a first mounting region and a second mounting region spaced from each other along the lateral width of the wall mount bracket. The wall mount bracket may also include a central panel that is spaced from the wall surface to provide clearance for fasteners for connection to the weightlifting rack assembly, and in some embodiments, the weightlifting rack assembly may be connected to multiple wall mount panels.
Abstract: The present disclosure provides systems and methods for managing a temperature of a battery energy storage system (“BESS”). A method may comprise identifying operating temperature limitations of the BESS; obtaining a forecast horizon comprising a forecast of external environmental conditions for a time period; identifying a charging/discharging schedule of the BESS; simulating operation of the BESS for the time period for each of a plurality of sequences of thermal management modes according to the charging/discharging schedule and the forecast horizon, the simulating generating an energy consumption and an operating temperature forecast of for each of the plurality of sequences of thermal management modes; selecting a sequence of thermal management modes of the plurality of sequences; and operating the equipment according to the selected sequence of thermal management modes.
Abstract: A wireless communication system wirelessly communicates through a physical barrier using beamforming. A serving transceiver determines and transfers downlink beamforming and power information to a network transceiver. The serving transceiver may determine the downlink power information based on the beamforming information to increase downlink power based on a beamforming aperture. The network transceiver wirelessly receives the downlink beamforming and power information from the serving transceiver. The network transceiver wirelessly receives a downlink signal from a wireless access node. The network transceiver beamforms and amplifies the downlink signal based on the downlink beamforming and power information. The network transceiver wirelessly transfers the beamformed and amplified downlink signal to the serving transceiver. The serving transceiver wirelessly receives the beamformed and amplified downlink signal from the network transceiver.

Abstract: Methods and related apparatus for improving the efficacy of antimicrobial agents within processing tanks. Processing tanks can include side streams for introducing antimicrobial agents into the processing tanks. The antimicrobial agents will be added and mixed in the side stream to form a processing solution. Additional actions can be conducted on the processing solution within the side stream including any and or all of heating, pumping, sampling, measuring, testing and pH adjustment of the processing solution. The processing solution is divided into at least two processing solution steams, which can be introduced at two different and distinct locations within the processing tank such as a carcass introduction end and a carcass removal end. By simultaneously introducing at least two processing solution streams at different locations of the processing tank, large concentration gradients of the antimicrobial agent are avoided.

Abstract: An electrical submersible pump assembly (ESP) has a centrifugal production pump with production pump stages. A gas separator upstream is from the production pump. A centrifugal charge pump is upstream from the gas separator. The charge pump has charge pump stages and a discharge that leads to an intake of the gas separator. Each of the production pump stages has a higher lifting capacity than each of the charge pump stages. The impellers of the production pump stages have vane exit angles greater than vane exit angles of the impellers of the charge pump stages.
Abstract: A method of providing a frame-based mel spectral representation of speech includes receiving a text utterance having at least one word and selecting a mel spectral embedding for the text utterance. Each word has at least one syllable and each syllable has at least one phoneme. For each phoneme, the method further includes using the selected mel spectral embedding to: (i) predict a duration of the corresponding phoneme based on corresponding linguistic features associated with the word that includes the corresponding phoneme and corresponding linguistic features associated with the syllable that includes the corresponding phoneme; and (ii) generate a plurality of fixed-length predicted mel-frequency spectrogram frames based on the predicted duration for the corresponding phoneme. Each fixed-length predicted mel-frequency spectrogram frame represents mel-spectral information of the corresponding phoneme.

Abstract: Techniques involve implementing a file system. According to such techniques, a storage system creates a plurality of files in advance, each of which maintains a continuous space to simplify the process of processing read/write requests in the file system. When there is data to be written, an appropriate pre-created file is selected. Further, according to such techniques, a file system address is mapped to a physical address using a memory management unit. In this way, the file system performance is improved greatly.
