  • Patent number: 11659063
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices may be used to support freshness-based processing of requests. Freshness-based processing may involve the service layer examining the age of stored content (e.g., resource representation) that it hosts and determining whether it is fresh enough to satisfy a retrieve or discovery request with a specified freshness requirement. If not fresh, the service layer can contact an application to refresh the content. In addition, freshness-based processing can also involve the service layer examining the semantic state of a command oriented update request to determine whether its state is fresh or not with respect to prior commands processed by the service layer. For example, the service layer may compare stored content associated with controlling a particular application (e.g. door is locked) and against the semantic content of an update request (e.g., unlock door) to determine whether it is the same (e.g., stale) or not (e.g., fresh).

  • Patent number: 11657662
Abstract: An exemplary method includes operating an access control device in a standalone mode, which involves controlling a locked/unlocked state of the access control device locally, and operating a wireless transceiver of the access control device in a lower-power state in which the wireless transceiver is operable to receive a lockdown signal from an external device. The method further includes operating the access control device in a networked lockdown mode in response to receiving the lockdown signal from the external device. Operating the access control device in the networked lockdown mode involves placing the access control device in a locked state, establishing a wireless communication connection with the external device via the wireless transceiver while operating the wireless transceiver in a higher-power state.

  • Patent number: 11659404
Abstract: Novel tools and techniques for are provided for implementing a hybrid spectrum access system and access probe framework. A system includes a base station coupled to a network, a spectrum access system, and user equipment coupled to the base station and the spectrum access system. The user equipment is configured to transmit, to the base station, a first network access request following a first access sequence while transmitting signals under a first power limit. If no response is obtained from the base station, the user equipment is configured to transmit a second network access request above the first power limit, but under a second power limit. The user equipment is configured to obtain spectrum access from the spectrum access system and transmit a second network access request to the base station.

  • Patent number: 11657105
Abstract: The automated social networking graph mining and visualization technique described herein mines social connections and allows creation of a social networking graph from general (not necessarily social-application specific) Web pages. The technique uses the distances between a person's/entity's name and related people's/entities names on one or more Web pages to determine connections between people/entities and the strengths of the connections. In one embodiment, the technique lays out these connections, and then clusters them, in a 2-D layout of a social networking graph that represents the Web connection strengths among the related people's or entities' names, by using a force-directed model.

  • Patent number: 11656620
Abstract: To generate a machine learning model for controlling autonomous vehicles, training sensor data is obtained from sensors associated with one or more vehicles, the sensor data indicative of physical conditions of an environment in which the one or more vehicles operate, and a machine learning (ML) model is trained using the training sensor data. The ML model generates parameters of the environment in response to input sensor data. A controller in an autonomous vehicle receives sensor data from one or more sensors operating in the autonomous vehicle, applies the received sensor data to the ML model to obtain parameters of an environment in which the autonomous vehicle operates, provides the generated parameters to a motion planner component to generate decisions for controlling the autonomous vehicle, and causes the autonomous vehicle to maneuver in accordance with the generated decisions.

  • Patent number: 11657659
Abstract: A system for analyzing wireless telematics data to determine that a vehicle is engaged in an extended period of travel and prompt additional devices within the vehicle regarding the extended period of travel. The system may comprise a telematics server and a plurality of mobile applications to be implemented on a plurality of telematics devices belonging to a plurality of users. The plurality of telematics devices transmit telematics data to the telematics server. The data is analyzed and the telematics server transmits an indication to the telematics devices, causing the mobile applications to execute in a driver application mode or passenger application mode. Messages containing notifications to change drivers or pull over are sent to the telematics devices.

  • Patent number: 11656783
Abstract: One example method includes intercepting an IO issued by an application, writing the IO and IO metadata to a splitter journal in NVM, forwarding the IO to storage, and asynchronous with operations occurring along an IO path between the application and storage, evacuating the splitter journal by sending the IO and IO metadata from the splitter journal to a replication site. In this example, sending the IO and IO metadata from the journal to the replication site does not increase a latency associated with the operations on the IO path.

  • Patent number: 11656954
Abstract: A system, method, and computer readable medium for hybrid kernel-mode and user-mode checkpointing of multi-process applications. The computer readable medium includes computer-executable instructions for execution by a processing system. A multi-process application runs on primary hosts and is checkpointed by a checkpointer comprised of a kernel-mode checkpointer module and one or more user-space interceptors providing barrier synchronization, checkpointing thread, resource flushing, and an application virtualization space. Checkpoints may be written to storage and the application restored from said stored checkpoint at a later time. Checkpointing is transparent to the application and requires no modification to the application, operating system, networking stack or libraries. In an alternate embodiment the kernel-mode checkpointer is built into the kernel.
