Abstract: A mass selective ion trapping device includes a linear ion trap and a RF control circuitry. The ion trap includes a plurality of trap electrodes configured for generating a quadrupolar trapping field in a trap interior and for mass selective ejection of ions from the trap interior. The RF control circuitry is configured to apply a balanced AC voltage to the trap electrodes during a first period of time such that an AC voltage applied to a first pair of trap electrodes is of the same magnitude and of opposite sign to an AC voltage applied to a second pair of trap electrodes; apply unbalanced RF voltage to the second pair of trap electrodes during a second period of time; ramp the balanced AC voltage down and the unbalanced RF voltage up during a transition period; and eject ions from the linear ion trap after the second period of time.
Abstract: The present disclosure provides a system and method for real-time visualization of a material during ultrasonic non-destructive testing. The system includes a graphical user interface (GUI) capable of showing a three-dimensional (3-D) image of a composite laminate constructed of a series of two-dimensional (2-D) cross sections. The GUI is capable of displaying the 3-D image as each additional 2-D cross section is scanned by an ultrasonic testing apparatus in real time or near real time, including probable defect regions that contain a flaw such as a hole, crack, wrinkle, or foreign object within the composite. Furthermore, in one embodiment, the system includes an artificial intelligence capable of highlighting defect areas within the 3-D image in real time or near real time and providing data regarding each defect area, such as the depth, size, and/or type of each defect.
Abstract: A combination valve for pressure building and final-line gas regulation is disclosed. An example valve includes a body defining a first tank port and a second tank port, an outlet port, and a linking chamber fluidly connected to the second tank port. The valve includes a first piston diaphragm at least partially defining a first pressure cavity fluidly connected to the first tank port and a first plug operatively connected to the first piston diaphragm. The first pressure cavity is fluidly connected to the linking chamber when the first plug is in an open position. The valve includes a second piston diaphragm at least partially defining a second pressure cavity fluidly connected to the outlet port and a second plug operatively connected to the second piston diaphragm. The second pressure cavity is fluidly connected to the linking chamber when the second plug is in an open position.
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to systems, methods, and computer readable media for enabling server devices to utilize a higher percentage of power resources while maintaining sufficient availability of power resources of a datacenter or other collection of server devices. For example, systems disclosed herein determine and implement power shaving actions based on virtual machine metadata and in accordance with a power shaving policy to facilitate a significantly higher utilization of power resources on a datacenter during normal operation as well as within periods of limited power capacity on various server devices. Systems described herein provide more efficient utilization of power resources while maintaining service availability guarantees for a variety of virtual machines hosted by servers of the datacenter.

Abstract: The system manages a data structure that defines at least one topic limit for each client computer. The data structure can cause each client computer to display different user interface formats based on a topic limit that is allowed per thread. The data structure causes some devices, which may have a limited viewing area, to only show a single-topic thread, while the data structure also causes other devices to display multi-topic threads. Thus, for high priority topics or for devices having a limited display area, the system can cause the display of a single-topic thread pertaining to a topic to which an incoming message corresponds. This feature can improve user interaction by bringing focus to high priority threads when messages of a particular topic are received at select devices, while allowing other devices to provide a broader perspective of thread formats having multiple topics when the same messages are received.

Abstract: A selective fire firearm may be provided having a fully automatic open bolt and a semi-automatic closed bolt mode of operation. The firearm may include a trigger group having a trigger prop that ensures that, when the trigger is released in the fully automatic open bolt mode, the bolt carrier stops in an open bolt position held by an open bolt sear. The trigger prop may include a foot that, following a first trigger pull in the fully automatic open bolt mode, slides under and props a rear end of the trigger in a position that allows the open bolt sear to catch the bolt carrier when the trigger is released and propped but prevents the trigger sear from engaging the hammer.
